1958 Dodge Coronet Hard Top Swept Wing, Original Survivor With Only 26k Miles. on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
1958 DODGE SWEPT WING HARD TOP There only original once! If there are more than twenty 1958 Dodge Swept Wing hard top’s on Earth in this original surviving condition, I would be very surprised. Since brand new, this Dodge has only traveled 26,939 miles. The very lucky winner will receive all the documentation meticulously recorded in two books supporting the original miles. This car is NOT restored, rather almost totally original. Of course some maintenance has been performed. The entire front end has been rebuilt, age had deteriorated bushings etc. The brakes are new, carburetor rebuilt, the shocks are new and the tires good. The body, chrome and glass are outstanding! Underneath you’ll be amazed as most of these cars are long since been rusted out. Not this one! All the original sheet metal, frame, body supports etc. are like new. Absolutely no patches or Bondo on this car. The paint still holds a shine and its original. The car has never been repainted. However...the elderly lady who originally owned the car, opened the doors on something in the garage over and over again. There are no dents, just lots of little chips in the paint. The winner will receive the original color sales brochure, a copy of the original 58’ title, and current title, a hard back original 1958 Dodge maintenance book and over a $1000 of new extra parts. Inside the car is a Time Machine. The dash is outstandingly beautiful, and all the gauges work. Only the clock does not. The horns, lights, turn signals, wipers, map light, speedometer, odometer, and heater all work. Even the cigarette lighter still works, but in over 50 years...its never lit one cigarette. This car was a factory radio delete...and the original radio hole plugs are amazingly still in place. The car has silky smooth factory Power Steering and a push button start 325 Cross-Over V8 engine. It instantly fires and runs smooth as well as the Push-Button Transmission shifts effortlessly. This car floats and drives you like you're on a cloud. The winner can fly in and drive this car home. It’s located in San Antonio Texas. If you’ve got questions...I’ve got answers. Call or write Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 between 9am-9pm CST. PAYMENT AND STORAGE

SRT partners with Bondurant for performance driving classes
Fri, Nov 6 2015Dodge and Bob Bondurant have announced a new partnership that will see the latter become the former's official high-performance driving school. The deal will see the Bondurant school's entire fleet of nearly 100 vehicles switched over from mostly General Motors products to Dodge Chargers, Challengers, and Vipers. It will give paying customers the chance to drive models like the new Hellcats and even the Viper ACR (for those deemed qualified to drive it) on the track in Arizona. The arrangement won't only benefit Bondurant clients, though. Anyone who buys or leases a new SRT model will get a one-day course at the school, including professional instruction on track. They'll have to pay for their own travel and accommodations, but the instruction will hopefully show more drivers of SRT vehicles how to handle all that muscle they've got at their disposal. Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.
Marchionne nixes talk of a reborn Dodge Viper
Sun, May 27 2018UPDATE: According to Automobile Magazine's Todd Lassa, FCA chief Sergio Marchionne shot down the idea of a reborn Viper, saying "it's not in the plan." Marchionne was referring to Fiat Chrysler's five-year plan, which we've been covering in bits and pieces as the news filters out. But it's not out of the realm of possibility, apparently, as Marchionne reportedly said he'd be happy to see the reptilian supercar back in production. And it's not all bad news, anyway. A reborn Alfa Romeo 8C will get a carbon-fiber chassis holding a mid-mounted twin-turbo V6. With more than 700 horsepower, including an electrically-driven front axle, the car should hit 62 mph in fewer than 3 seconds. Also, three versions of a Maserati Alfieri will be produced, including a convertible. An electrified all-wheel-drive powertrain is planned. So, performance is coming from FCA, it just may not be from Dodge. View 36 Photos First came the mourning for the Dodge Viper, which ended production last year. Then came the Viper's continued sales run as a "Zombie Car;" we just wrote about how the Viper has racked up 11 sales so far this year, two of them in April. Now Car and Driver reports that the two-seater snake will return shorty for its second encore after being discontinued in 2009. The mag isn't equivocal about it, either, writing, "trust us: A new Viper is happening." It won't, however, be the same Viper that brought ten-cylinder brass knuckles to shake down other coupes for their wallets and jewelry. CD says we should expect the same front-mid-engine layout and rear-wheel drive tucked into a new spaceframe. That engine will lose two cylinders, with Chrysler's next-gen, aluminum-block V8 Hemi slotting into the engine bay. The previous Viper's V10 had grown to 8.4 liters and 640 horsepower by the time it drove into the sunset. CD guesses the coming Viper will start with a naturally-aspirated version of the Hemi V8 working up around 550 horsepower. Healthy doses of aluminum and carbon fiber would restrain the car's weight, on top of the weight loss from swapping an iron V10 for an aluminum V8. SRT could tart up the horsepower with a few performance trims, before a supercharged V8 with 700-plus horsepower arrives at some point after launch. The mag also suspects the initial offering will be a convertible, the hardtop appearing "a few years after launch," which could coincide with the more powerful engine. A row-your-own shifter will sit between the seats.
