This is the original FIRST YEAR of the renowned 1966 Dodge Charger. It is equipped with the correct size engine a 361 commando. She starts right up NO smoke or noises with low mileage. This car is ready to go. It has an automatic transmission which shifts smoothly throughout the gears. On highway speeds the vehicles rides straight with no significant noise. The battery is good. The power steering hoses and radiator hoses were just replaced. There's no hesitation or misfiring on this engine. Everything works as expected. Plugs wires coil distributor all are functioning with quality parts. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere you wanted to go. But don't take my word see it for yourself and show your mechanic. we also just flushed the radiator and filled it with fresh clean coolant.
The body is nice and clean. Its an older restoration so it has some door dings which could use some straightening out. The car does NOT have and rust through on the body. The paint is Bright Red Metallic which shines beautiful. The doors open and close properly hood and trunk also open and close properly. It appears that it was a factory red car due to the jambs being red and under the hood and trunk. The interior of the trunk has been sprayed black and still has the bumper jack. The front end of the vehicle has the original grill and hideaway headlights. Both front and rear bumper are solid with no rust holes. They are faded chrome but can easily be re chromed replaced or sprayed so the exterior is monochromatic.
The engine has a chrome dodge air cleaner cover with chrome valve covers. The hoses for the power steering and radiator have been replaced and there are no leaks present as expected. The factory master cylinder is still intact and stops the vehicle with no problems. The brakes stop the car smoothly with no chatter or pulsation. The factory power steering pump is still working with no problems or leaks. The pump does NOT wine or pulse when steering. The car still has the factory styled BRASS radiator. The car did not have A/C and there are no signs of ever having A/C in it. The firewall and under the hood has been sprayed flat black at one point in time.
The interior has its original White vinyl bucket seats in the front and back seating area. The original FULL CENTER CONSOLE is still installed and functions properly with storage in the front and a fold down rear armrest. The rear bucket seats also fold down flat and the door behind the seats opens for a rear seat pass through as equipped from the factory. This would easily accommodate long objects such as beech umbrellas or surfboards. The auxilarey gage package by the gear shift operates properly with the temp gage, oil pressure, and voltage gage. The instrument panel is intact and the tachometer works properly. The carpeting is all intact and is most likely the original factory carpet. It is faded throughout but can be recolored with a lot of different products available.
The NEGATIVES. The trunk lid is in need of a piece of chrome. The rear lens needs to be replaced but the lights are all working. Were missing the exterior weather stripping on both doors needs to be replaced. It is not installed. We need two interior wheel wells NOT THE INNER FENDERS> for both front tires. However you are able to look at the inner fender and theres no globs of bondo or filler.
Some of the above work I could've had done but I need to get rid of some toys.
My loss is your gain.
You can get these parts from year one and are probably an easy install without any body work expeirence.

Watch these Dodge Demons explode on a Texas drag strip
Thu, Feb 14 2019The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is extremely quick. It can hit 60 mph from a dead stop in less time than it takes to read this sentence thanks to its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. That engine makes up to 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque, depending on what octane is running through the fuel lines. That's a ton of power going solely to the rear wheels. So much so that Dodge developed a number of features and a new set of tires specifically for the car. In our time with the Demon, the car took abuse run after run on a drag strip without skipping a beat, but it seems some actual owners aren't quite so lucky. Just take a look at what happened to a few of these cars. You can see the whole car shake and jitter right as the whole rear explodes in front of the tree. It seems the initial shock from the launch — the most taxing bit of any drag run — is what kills the differentials. Catastrophic failure is rarely pretty, but it is neat to see the whole thing occur in slow motion. Three more cars — four stock and one modified in total — suffered similar fates. Not a great look for Dodge or SRT. According to The Drive, a private drag event in Texas drew a number of Demon owners all trying to beat NHRA NHRA Top Fuel racer Leah Pritchett's time in her personal Dodge Demon — 42 stock Demons attended along with five modified cars. While no one managed to match her 9.65-second quarter-mile run, a few owners did dip below 10 seconds. Now, there are a few of caveats we must address. First, with any modified car, you run the risk of breaking something, even with a car that's set up from stock specifically for drag strips. Even a set of tires like the Mickey Thompsons shown in the video above can have an effect on driveline components. Horsepower may be king, but it's torque that's the rear killer. All that torque sends a shock through the car. Adding even more with aftermarket parts increases the risk of something failing. The modified car was apparently pushing out about 1,000 horsepower. That said, four of the five vehicles were stock, so any extra power or torque should theoretically be a non-factor. The drag strip's surface was maintained by a company called Mass Traction. FCA used Mass Traction during the Demon's development, so that too should be a non-factor in the part's failure. It's unclear what exactly caused the failures, though The Drive reports that FCA officials are investigating the matter. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.
Dodge debuts 2020 Durango SRT Black appearance package
Thu, Jan 30 2020Dodge is going back to the well with yet another round of aesthetic options for the 2020 Durango SUV, focusing yet again on the high-performance SRT model with a new Black package and optional "Redline" stripes. Like most of FCA's dress-up packages, these are geared toward the sporty crowd. The SRT Black package adds lots of black and dark gray elements, including gray SRT badges on the grille and fenders, gloss black mirror caps, 20-inch matte gray wheels, blacked-out exhaust tips, a satin black "Dodge" logo on the tailgate, and gray "Durango" and "SRT" tailgate badges. If you want a little color variety, you can swap out the gray alloys for the existing Brass Monkey accessory wheels at no cost. You can also add the Redline stripe package (shown here), which adds matte black full-length stripes with red accent pin-striping on the outer edges.  And while the package may be called the SRT Black, it's actually available in 10 colors: Billet Silver, DB Black, Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Granite Crystal, Octane Red, Reactor Blue, Redline, White Knuckle and Vice White. Plenty of cars aren't even available in 10 finishes. The SRT Black package offers a treatment similar to that of the Blacktop package, which is available on lower trims; Black and Redline are both exclusive to the range-topping SRT model. The Durango SRT Black will run you $1,495; Redline is an extra $1,295. These packages will make their public debuts at the Chicago Auto Show next week alongside some other goodies from FCA. Stay tuned. Related Video:
