1974 Dodge charger 440 big block 727 automatic. This car originally came with a 400 HP big block, But now it has a 440 big block with new CompCams 280 magnum 480 lift 232 duration, New Comp timing chain and lifters. Has 68 hp iron intake with rebuilt holley 800 DP carb, electronic distributor with performance advance curve, Chrome box ignition Aluminum fabricated valve covers. Engine has about 30k on it and runs very strong 9:2.1 compression. Has the original factory hi po exhaust manifolds and factory dual snorkel air cleaner. This is a factory big block 400 car. 727 tranny on the coluum, 8 3/4 rear end with sure grip not sure on gear ratio but has no problems smokin the tires. Car had those cool exhaust tips that come through the rear pan but since have been removed (pricey but cool) It's now set up to just dump before the rear, or basically removed the exhaust tail pipes I have a couple of new muffler to go with. Body of the car has the typical lower rear quarter rust, rest of body is pretty decent. floors, trunk, fenders, torque boxes all good and original, atleat this way you know what your getting and not some bondoed up painted car, And the rust is limited to the lower quarter. A lower patch would take car of that. Interior is rough the seats will need to be redone front and back and carpet is old. Door panels front and rear are good, dash has cracks, but they all do. winshield is cracked but are around 130 bucks from a glass warehouse on ebay. its going to need a headliner. Gauges all work, signals, headlights, wipers, dash lights. It will need a front passenger turn light. Car brakes, steers, handels very well. The previous owner drove this car all around like it is. Has real centerlines rims not fakes with dunlop 275/60r15 for the rear and the fronts are 205/70r15 for that big and little look. rears have about half tread and fronts are better than that. So car need some work but all in all for a big block entry level mopar this is a cool car. Heck Richard Petty drove one in Nascar till around 1978 and won like 14 races. Please and I stress it please dont bid if you cant pay. I already had my feedback messed with and they never even got the car. This has happened to me numerous times. So please make sure you have the funds available I wont waste your time so dont waste mine. This will be a no reserve auction so bid to buy it. If you have ????? please email me. There will be a 500.00 deposit due within 48 hrs to insure the buyer is serious and full payment due within 5 business days. Thats plenty of time to due a bank transfer. I pay people promptly when I buy a car, I just expect the same back. I will contact you once the auction is over to touch base with you. Once funds are clear I will fedx you the title and bill of sale next day air with tracking of coarse that way you can watch it come to your front door, it goes smooth that way. You are resposible for shipping the vehicle, wich is very easy I will help you much as I can but again they will want your info. There are tons of shippers and they will just want your info and then they will set a pick up date with you its real easy, shippers have been pretty quick lately. Chrysler recalls AWD 300, Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission
Tue, 24 Dec 2013What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.
Nine cars we wish were convertibles
Thu, Apr 16 2015The snow has melted, the sun is shining, and the days are getting longer. At the Autoblog Detroit office we feel like our winter hibernation is finally over. And with warmer temperatures come visions of opening up a convertible roof and cruising. You know, just turn up the bass and let the Alpine blast. There are plenty of droptops on sale in the US, and more on the way (like the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata). That said, we always want more. More! More! More! In that spirit, we cooked up a list of nine cars aren't currently sold as convertible, but ought to be. Check out our picks, below. Summer's just around the corner. Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S In some parallel universe, this car actually happened. Toyota showed us a FT 86 Convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and we immediately started licking our chops over the thought of a rear-wheel-drive convertible based on the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins. These days, the MX-5 Miata is our only option for affordable roadster fun. A competitor to the Mazda seems like a no-brainer to us, especially since we have naught but good to say about the BRZ/FR-S as-is. Unfortunately in our present timeline, this car is as likely for production as a BRZ STI. Which is to say, not very. Dang. Lexus RC F Unlike the FR-S, a convertible from Toyota's luxury division might actually see the light of day. The current IS convertible is about to be phased out, and the Lexus LF-C2 concept from the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is really a thinly veiled look at a possible RC convertible. A droptop RC would be plenty good, but let's reach for the starts. What we really want is to run topless in an RC F, complete with that powerful, loud, 5.0-liter V8 engine. Lexus says the RC F is a true competitor to the BMW M4. If that's true, it only makes sense for Lexus to mimic the Germans and offer its performance coupe in a folding hardtop form. Maybach Landaulet Maybach is bach back, recast as an upper crust trim level for Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is seriously awesome, and more luxurious than a trip to the spa. But why not go a step into the truly ridiculous levels of extravagence and bring back that open-top Landaulet? We think your local princess will love this idea, and with better S-Class bones underneath, Jeeves will have a pretty enjoyable ship to steer, too. Besides, with that slick new Mercedes design language, a Landaulet redux wouldn't be nearly as hideous as the old model, pictured here.
2020 Dodge Challenger Review & Buying Guide | The most muscular muscle car
Sun, Sep 1 2019Despite going more than a decade without a complete redesign, the Dodge Challenger is alive and well, and still worth your consideration. Primarily, it offers more of a classic muscle car experience focused on straight-line performance and comfort that its rivals from Ford and Chevy that skew closer to sports car dynamics. The Challenger has the brash, broad-shouldered design to match that muscle car feel, too. And its big body brings more space and practicality than the competition. The 2020 Dodge Challenger also has a few unique bragging points. It's the only one of the modern pony cars to offer all-wheel-drive, which is a boon to people living in snowy parts of the country. And the Hellcat Redeye is still the most powerful pony car on the market with a whopping 797 horsepower from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Of course, there is a multitude of other Challenger models beyond those two examples, though, with many customization options from colors to wheels and trim. We think pretty highly of them all, proving that just because something is getting on in years doesn't mean it's any less relevant. What's new for 2020? The 2020 Dodge Challenger brings a small number of updates. There are new wheel designs for every trim except the base rear-drive SXT. Three new colors are available with typically excellent Mopar names: Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick and Frostbite. Dodge has also made some welcome efforts to spruce up the interior with stitched dash and door panels on leather-equipped Challengers, carbon fiber trim and faux suede options for V8-powered cars and caramel-colored Alcantara for the GT, R/T and R/T Scat Pack trims. What's the interior and in-car technology like? The Challenger's interior certainly isn't as characterful and flamboyant as its exterior would suggest. The Mustang and Camaro are more interesting and distinctive inside. Still, there are some interesting design flourishes that spruce things up, from the base trim's standard houndstooth cloth to the two-tone leather choices available as options. Besides, we're not sure how flamboyant you need the interior to be in a car available in electric orange, blue, green and purple paint colors. Furthermore, what the Challenger interior may lack in visual pizzazz, it makes up for with space (see below) and technology. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, but all trim levels have an 8.4-inch version available as an option or standard.
