This auction is for a 1969 Dodge Charger project car. My son has owned this for approx 7 years and always planned on fixing it up but other projects got in the way. He is currently doing up a 1971 Dodge Charger R/T clone so reluctently he is going to sell the 1969 to help fund his other project. To begin with the Charger needs a complete restoration. It is a complete rolling shell and chassis. No motor or trans. The car originaly was a 318 V-8, Automatic Trans, Power Steering with Drum Brakes. Brakes are down from sitting. When we purchased the car someone had started doing some body repairs. Full quarters were installed, a trunk pan with extensions, 2 front floor pans, lower back valance panel and lower inner wheel tubs. The quarters still have a weld line on the outside top edge which will need to be ground down and finish work done. The car had been sanded down in various places, primer here and there. So we sanded down the complete body and primed it where needed in order to protect it from the elements. Of course when you get it you will want to do it your way. The passenger door was replaced with a nice rust free door but does have a light scratch in the middle (very fixable). We replaced the front fenders with a good pair to work with. Passenger one has minor rust spot on bottom, drivers one has rust spot on bottom and a few blisters on top side. We bolted the parts on but didnt take the time to line them up perfect as we know the car is going to come apart again. There are some light dings and dents from being in storage but are easy fixes. Small rust hole on passenger rocker panel. Trunk lid has some issues on the outer edge. Just trying to point out some of the areas that need attention. The floors in the car are very solid. If you look at the pics there is a small rust spot right where the wire harness slips into very easy fix. All the glass is in the car. Front windshield is cracked. Rear windshield looks to have been replaced with acrylic. The rear torsion bar cross member is rusted and weak giving the drivers side a lean. We do have a wood block between the front frame rail and "A" arm to give support for now. We purchased a nice solid original crossmember from another Charger that we will include with the sale. Also there are 2 small two inch size holes in the rear frame rails just as they curve down. Water must have set in place. The rails are solid other than that. I would fix rather than replace but its your call. As far as the inside of the car is concerned the dash is intact. Pad is in good shape. No radio. Headliner is still in place but has some holes. The visors and surrounding trim is in place. I have no interior with the exception of a back seat bottom cushion and a passenger side bucket seat back which will be included. I also have upper seat belts, the other vaccum canister for headlights, 2 front kick panels, 2 front windshield side stainless, both door gaskets, fuel tank filler tube, transmission crossmember, wiring harness (condition unknown), both front fender metal splash aprons, the spare tire hook cut of the old trunk pan and power steering pump. We do have a 1969 Dodge Charger parts car that was hit hard in the rear. We cut up a 1970 Charger and was going to use parts from that to fix the 1969. This vehicle will be availble at an extra cost if the winning bidder chooses to purchase. If not then we will sell it seperate as it still has a lot of good usable parts. Im sure I have left something out so feel free to give me a call as it would be easier to discuss the car by phone.A definate worth while project.  We have a clear title ,fender tag and proper dealer paper work  for the car. If you have under 20 feedback please give us a call before you place a bid so that we know your serious. Sorry we have to do it this way but have been burned to many times. We take our auctions seriously and want you to do the same. If you are the winning bidder we expect a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours after the sale and then full payment in 3 days. If you can not follow through with what we ask please dont bid. These auctions take time and cost money. If you need more info or pics feel free to call or email 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundays

Mopar introduces winter tire and wheel packages

Wed, Dec 2 2015

Winter is coming, and Mopar will try to help drivers stay safe in the cold weather this year by offering a winter tire and wheel package for a variety of FCA US vehicles for the first time. The packages combine everything drivers need to be prepared for slick roads, including winter tires, steel wheels, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors. Even better, the company delivers them mounted, balanced, and ready for installation. Customers can order the bundles from dealers now. Mopar offers packages with the General Altimax Arctic tire on the Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Cherokee, and Chrysler 200. All- and rear-wheel drive configurations of the Chrysler 300 get the Michelin X-Ice Xi3, and the all- and rear-drive Dodge Charger models use the Continental WinterContact SI. Depending on the vehicle, prices vary between $242 and $292 per wheel, and Mopar will expand the program to even more models next year. Spending the extra money on winter tires really can make a difference. Experts are clear that the specialized rubber simply works better when the weather gets cold. They can shorten braking distances and improve traction – even with all-wheel drive. Plus, winter tires can often last for more than one year, which spreads out the investment. The all-new Mopar winter wheel assemblies are available for order for a variety of FCA US vehicles. Assemblies include a winter tire, steel rim and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and are delivered mounted and balanced, so you or your dealership can quickly and easily pop off all-season rims and rubber and put on cold-weather appropriate gear. "Mopar is rolling out our first-ever offering of winter wheel assemblies for those customers who desire a little extra control during the cold weather seasons," said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA – Global.

Mopar unveils Dodge Challenger Drag Pak [w/video]

Sat, Jun 27 2015

Dodge is going drag racing, and it's doing it with an all-new version of the Challenger for NHRA's Sportsman class. FCA's Mopar parts and performance arm announced the new Challenger Drag Pak Friday, showing off a version with a 354-cubic-inch (that's a 5.8-liter, by the way), supercharged V8 and a 426-ci (7.0-liter), naturally aspirated V8 – both Hemis, of course – that can get the big coupes through the quarter-mile in "the eight-second range." While the two engines deliver similar performance, at their base, they're quite a bit different. The supercharged model uses a cast-iron block, while the 426 has aluminum for both the block and head. That said, both models get customized engine calibrations, and are mated to unique, race-spec automatic transmissions. But drag racing is about far more than just outright power. Mopar significantly updated the four-link rear suspension, adding a four-inch rear axle from Strange Engineering, along with an aluminum, nine-inch third member, while the rear-axle housing has been strengthened in general. Both the rear shocks and front struts can be adjusted for rebound and compression, too. Lightweight 15-inch wheels, meanwhile, are shod in super-sticky Hoosier drag radials, with nine inches of tread in back and 4.5 inches in front. The new Challenger Drag Pak should run the quarter-mile in "the eight-second range." In the cabin, there's an NHRA-spec roll cage, a Racepak gauge cluster, and a handsome pair of Sparco racing seats. Outside, supercharged models get blue decals, while naturally aspirated varieties get black stickers, although there's more to the new Challenger dragster's exterior than just its decals. Mopar tweaked the big-scoop hood, promising it's easier to get up to check on the engine, and the designers also added trailer tie-down straps in both the front and rear. While the dragster was the big news today, Mopar officials also announced the two enhanced Scat Pack kits for both the Dodge Charger and Challenger R/T. The 5.7-liter Hemi models gain an extra 56 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque in the Scat Pack 2 thanks to a new cam, valve springs, pushrods, and gaskets. The Scat Pack 3, meanwhile, adds 75 hp and 44 lb-ft, on top of the gains from the lower packages. That should be perfect for drivers who wish to snort in the face of their SRT 392-driving friends. The third stage adds a ported cylinder heads, as well as high-flow manifolds and catalysts.

Dodge Journey to get a performance-focused replacement in 2022?

Mon, Nov 25 2019

The Dodge Journey is neither fast nor agile, but it has proved a hard-to-hit target for everyone trying to figure out what the next generation will hold, including Fiat Chrysler. In 2014, the automaker's five-year plan for Dodge included an all-new Journey in 2016, and a hotted-up SRT version of the crossover come 2017. In 2016, "supplier sources" told Automotive News a new Journey on rear-drive Alfa Romeo's Giorgio platform would show for the 2019 model year, and production would be moved from Mexico to Italy, Those prognostications came to naught, the 11-year-old Journey riding on its Mitsubishi-based platform into 2020 with fewer options. Now Mopar Insiders says the next-gen Journey could come in 2022 as an early 2023 model, still on the Giorgio platform and given a performance-focused brief. According to MI, the new Journey — and it's not clear if the name will be retained — comes in strict two-row, five-seater guise. It "will be around the size of the Stelvio," the Alfa Romeo coming in at 184.5 inches. Previous reports have said the Journey will be shorter than the current 192.4-inch model, but longer than the Stelvio. The Dodge Charger is said to donate major styling cues, and there will supposedly be a Scat Pack trim. Under the hood, the entry-level engine will be the same GME 2.0-liter four-cylinder in that makes 276 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque in the Stelvio. MI believes a Hemi V8 will make the options list, hence the Scat Pack. Previously, other outlets have figured a turbo V6 like that in the Alfa Quadrifoglio models will stand in as the upgrade, although the model is "being developed with V8s in mind." Any engine choice is expected to be paired with an eight-speed transmission. All of those options far outdo the 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 172 hp and 165 lb-ft, shifting through a four-speed automatic, which is the only powertrain possible for the 2020 Journey. The platform switch and the change to rear-drive will greatly enhance on-road manners and performance, but MI believes an all-wheel-drive option should make the transition. If Journey production moves to Italy from Mexico, Fiat Chrysler will open up capacity in North America for big-profit crossovers and trucks, and get more from its underutilized European operations. Rumor says the Journey would roll down the same lines as the Stelvio in the Cassino Assembly Plant; the crossover is still sold in Europe and other markets as the Fiat Freemont.
