The car was an original gold exterior and black interior. It was purchased from the second owner who had it since the mid 1970's. The paint is old and the body needs work but is still good. We will include a fresh rear quarter. The paint still shines but is old. There are many little dings, scratches and rust. The old bondo is cracking and pulling away. There is rust under the vinyl roof which was replaced and is a non original type. The front bumper is original. The rear is a replacement and in good shape. We supplied a new aftermarket rear valance for the R/T model. The frame is good. The trunk is clean with a few small openings at seams. The interior is good. The seats are ok with the exception of a few seams splitting from age. The carpet looks to be showing some aging. Its clean but looks like it might have been dyed black. The headliner is good. The dash board is cracked in two places by the center speaker. The dash board instruments are clean. The gas guage just stopped working and the speedometer crapped out when the new rear gears went in. The lights for the instrument panel are out. The ignition switch is new with a new set of keys. The front end has not been worked on. It will need attention but is fine for cruising. Power steering (very small leak). Manual drum brakes. All work well. The car drives well. The motor is very strong and reliable. The car is fast and sounds great. The car isn't perfect but has major potential. From a mechanical point it is strong. From a body condition state..it needs tlc and body work if you want a show car. For a cruiser and street machine its perfect. Build sheet is included (Broadcast sheet).

DART SWINGER: Blue on Blue. This vehicle was purchased from a very old German lady (94 yrs old named Cookie). She was the original owner of the Dart. I have her bill of sale and build sheet( Broadcast sheet). I took over at 24,500 miles and the odometer reads 38,000 today. She kept the Dart in a garage and waxed it three times a year. I kept it in a garage for a few years but unfortunately have not in the last three years. The Challenger wins that battle. I do keep it very protected but (Betsy...Cooky named the Dart this) would like to go back to a garage. The Dart Swinger has the most desirable paint code (GB5) as we all call  it B5 BLUE with a blue vinyl interior with wood grain steering wheel. There is no bondo on the metal. There are the usual issues with paint fade and a few small dings Cooky did while getting in and out of the garage. I recently sanded down the trunk lid and sprayed it with primer. The paint was fading down to the bare metal. The wheel wells are clean and the trunk is very clean. I show in one of the photos an area behind passenger side front wheel (small rust hole) where I sprayed a rust prevention application just to stop any future problem. This I did very lightly in two other areas known to rust in these models. The bumpers are in good shape. They still shine and are straight with an exception of one small ding Cooky did. The engine compartment still has assembly line # marks and sticker. The vinyl roof is original and in very good shape. The 225 six has a Holley one barrel which was professionally rebuilt and painted. The exhaust manifold was replaced with an upgrade for a Super Six set up. The original manifold was cracked. I upgraded the exhaust system from front to back with a 2 inch stainless steel set up with a little growl on the single muffler. This was done by American Muffler a few years ago. The valve cover was replaced and a new battery was just put in. The car has the original box A/C and it blows cold. I did replace the heater core. The heat blows hot and the defroster works well. The AM radio works great. The interior is mint. There is one small (1 1/2inch) tear on the backside of the drivers side seat which is hardly noticeable. The carpet is blue and in good shape. Original hub caps and radial tires with plenty of life in them. The power steering is working fine. The all around manual drum brakes were just serviced and all is fine. This car is ready as it is. It is so reliable and easy to drive. With the A/C working I would use this car in the warmer months and shut it down for the winter. The Dart can be taken very easily to show car quality or it can be cloned into a muscle car monster.

The two cars are not show cars but are very nice drivers. I am only interested in the sale of the two cars....not one. I am only going to respond to offers for the two cars. I am not supplying storage or shipping. Both cars were not damaged or affected by super storm Sandy. I am a car guy and want to sell these cars for the right price. I will be glad to answer questions....please post them through the Ebay message forum. I was limited to 24 pictures and chose the ones I used for the best exposure of what I have for sale.

REASON SELLING: I own six cars and have one garage. Its time to slip into the next stage of my love affair with the automobile. I will be selling a 1967 Cadillac Coupe DeVille after this Mopar package goes. Then I start my new treasure hunt. Which I haven't figured out yet.

Dodge Viper ACR still can't quite capture Nurburgring record

Mon, Aug 28 2017

Dodge Viper production ended just a few weeks ago. So in an effort to go out with a bang, a crowdfunded effort sent a pair of new Viper ACRs to the Nurburgring in order to reclaim the production-car lap record. Despite its best efforts, the team failed to top the Lamborghini Huracan Performante's time of 6 minutes and 52 seconds. The Viper's best lap was 7 minutes and 3.45 seconds, leaving a seemingly insurmountable gap between it and the Lamborghini. This past week, the Vipers went out again. Unfortunately the new time of 7:3.23 only shaved a few tenths. Road & Track reports that the hot weather played a major factor into the car's performance. August is hot in Germany, and the northern part of the track had a recorded temperature of 111 degrees. This was killing tires and therefore grip. While Kumho has been kind enough to supply the team with tires, an endless supply of rubber doesn't help if they keep getting cooked. In two hours, the team managed just two hot laps, killing 16 tires in the process. It's not over. A return trip is in the works. The team believes it can slide under the 7 minute mark. Still, it looks like it's going to take some really ideal conditions to make it work. Either way, the Viper ACR is and will remain one of the fastest production cars ever built and something of the likes we'll never see again. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. The Dodge Demon sheds some weight in pursuit of speed

Thu, Jan 19 2017

The Dodge Demon teaser train isn't stopping until it hits New York City. In case you need a reminder, the upcoming Demon is the more pedestrian Hellcat's stripped-down and hopped-up sibling that promises to be built for the sole purpose of traveling a quarter-mile mile quicker than any of its rivals. The weekly video rollout on www.ifyouknowyouknow.com continues with the latest sneak peak, "Reduction." While there were early rumors that the Demon may pack an all-wheel-drive system and in turn gain enough grip to rotate the Earth underneath it, Dodge and SRT look to be going down a simpler route. The press release reveals the Demon is 200 pounds lighter than the standard Hellcat. It's unclear where all that weight is coming from, but at nearly 4,500 pounds, the Challenger Hellcat could stand to go on a bit of a diet. The video hints at adjustments to the wheels, steering, suspension, and brakes, as well as some modifications to the car's interior. Don't be surprised if the Demon is a bare bones stripper model with no back seat, no A/C, and no radio. Who needs music when you have 2.4-liter supercharger and a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 making sweet love under the hood? 2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
