Over the past 30+ years of selling cars this by far is my favorite..It started out as a 318 automatic challenger convertible, have 2 factory build sheets to go along with the car. It was owned for a long time owner in North Carolina for many years before it was purchased back in 2007 when the restoration of the car took off. I will tell you that a Dodge mechanic of 20+ years owned and restored this vehicle to the condition it is in now. He searched a long time for a solid e-body to build his dream car and after years of looking at over 30 cars he had finally found this solid Challenger.
This car was taken down as far as you can go with and started back from the ground up. It is about 95% done now and is by far and away the best E body I have driven in, ever. The car now sports a period correct 440-6 pack motor that has some work done to push the horse power level to a estimated 450 or so. The car looks to be all stock but when you here it through the 3" TTI exhaust and those factory tips you know it has a bit more the a stock 375 horsepower back in the day. So, the motor, trans and rear have less then a 1000 miles on it since the car was 95% finished in 2010. The trans has a small 2600 stall speed converter and the rear is redone with a 3.91 posi rear. The car has factory Air condition that works and you can see the air filter was notched out in the front to help clear the A-C. It has a 1" spacer to lift the carbs up a little to clear for the a-c, the fuel tank, lines, brake lines, hoses, wheel cylinders and so on are all new back in 2010 also. The car still has the Original white top with no tears and he decided to leave that top on. It will come with a new white top in the box with a new rear window (have the original glass window on the car), it will also come with the white side RT stripes and RT hood logo in white..I decided not to put these on and will let the new owner decide if they want them on..As you can see in the pictures the floors, behind the door panels, everything was painted and cleared coated with no short cuts taken..I wont even tell you how much this paint job cost, lets say it was over $10,000.. I will add a video tonight sometime when I can so you can get a true look at this car and hear it run. Open to offers to close the auction at anytime, as you can see in pictures this car is a one of a kind..I drove this car 30 miles from work and was stopped 3 times while I was driving to be asked all kind of questions. I am sure I am forgetting a few things but I will add more information later so please look again so you can watch the video and read more about it. I have the 71 wood steering wheel also to go with the car, am radio was just set in the hole for pictures, will try and get mounted before the end of the auction.. Paint is a 9.8 out of 10, body 100% perfect, interior is 90% done still has the original front and rear seat covers, has the original dash with a small 1 in crack ( hard to see) just a awesome car..If it does not sell I will be adding the stripes on it and driving it for the summer time..No need to sell..But a must have for a collector.. .Do not miss this one guys - gals.. Front end suspension all redone, front and rear sway bars, the rear springs were new all done in 2010..This car is a must see..The sun was not out in most of these pictures so if you want better pictures I have some on my cell phone I can text or email you more. Do not lose out on this car, you will never see another one with the color contrast of the Green and White interior like this...Thank you. I recently did new weather stripping on the doors, the door and window moldings, door sill plates, sun visors, the spare is a nos unit, and canister is a re-pop, new seat backs for the buckets, new trunk mat is on the way also, car was done right..Very little to do.. Car comes with New top if you wanted to put it on, how many left with the original top and rear glass, and original windshield? Needs just the rear convertible panels repainted ( called just dashes to do but did not want to wait 12 weeks ) speedo cable just broke, am radio hooked up, that's it..Wont find a nicer one..One of One color combo...White stripes come with the car.. Will entertain all serious offers as the car can be sold locally.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPW94nh4qDg There are 2 videos..1 here and 1 on the bottom. : To answer a few questions...The original color was dark green, of course it was taken all the way down and painted and every inch of the car was repainted and cleared. I just updated 2 pictures outside in the Sun for a better idea how this car shines and the color really pops in the Sun. The pictures do not do this car any justice, it is a must see in person. I have sold alot of cars here, hemi's and 440-6 cuda, Gto Conv, 70 Rebel Machine with 11,000 original miles, this car hands down is the nicest one to date. You tube videos... On Apr-15-14 at 06:07:09 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a few questions..The car has power steering, power brakes ( disc brakes up front) air condition, am radio, power top, paint and body are flawless, again these pictures do not show the cars true color. 0 feedback bids will not be allowed, I will cancel your bids. Email me for any questions you may have, you will not find a better looking Challenger Convertible on the road...Under the carpets were even painted and clear coated then lined with a sound deadner..Chrome is excellent, trim is excellent, body is perfect and rock solid.. 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392
Mon, Mar 9 2015I've just started reading the third installment in a planned five-book biography of Lyndon Baines Johnson, Master of the Senate, written by the incomparable Robert Caro. Conveniently, a recent trip to drive the BMW X6 M and 228i Convertible was to be staged in Austin, TX, within easy driving distance of LBJ's birthplace, Johnson City. And yes, the city is named for his family. Having completed my duties with the Bimmers, I borrowed the spangled 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 you see above, to squire me around the Texas capitol for a weekend, and as a lift out to the Hill Country homestead of our 36th President. Johnson City isn't exactly a road trip mecca, but there's a pretty good brewery, a museum, the reconstructed LBJ house to take snapshots of, and it's a nice drive to get out there if you've got a 485-horsepower muscle car at your disposal. Driving Notes With the heroic Hellcat, this 392 and the R/T Scat Pack (that Brandon Turkus reviewed recently), there are more SRT-treated Challengers to choose from than ever before. There are 707 obvious reasons that the Hellkitty is the top dog (as it were), but there are important difference between this 392 and the Scat Pack, too. Both cars make use of the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 putting out 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, but the 392 also gets an adaptive suspension, six-piston Brembo brake calipers (instead of four-piston), wider tires, leather and Alcantara seats, a heated steering wheel, a louder stereo and HID headlights. When LBJ was campaigning for his seat in the House of Representatives, he would've loved to have something as potent as this monster of a V8 under the hood of his canvassing car. The 6.4L snorts with authority before it sends the big coupe forward to just about any speed I'd ask of it, and with a quickness. Johnson was known for haranguing drivers to step on it, when all that stood between himself and a few more votes was the ability to fit one more stump speech into the day. The 392 feels as though it could cover a quarter of the state of Texas in a morning if you throttle down deep enough (faster even than the Johnson City Windmill, I'd guess). Though there's a six-speed manual available, I'm actually quite fond of the eight-speed automatic in the 392. The two-pedal setup better suits the fast-cruiser attitude of the car, and it never served up any poorly conceived shift logic when I left it in D. Of course, the roads are better now than they were in the 1930s and 40s, too.
2020 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak will debut at SEMA
Mon, Nov 4 2019Mopar fans have countless reasons to get hyped about the 2019 SEMA show. Speedkore is bringing a twin-turbocharged, all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody, Mopar is bringing a done-up 1968 Dodge D200 "Lowliner," Ram is bringing a diesel 1500 overlander, and Jeep is bringing a custom off-road Wrangler. But the launch of the new 2020 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak might garner the most attention from the brand's most serious customers. Prior to the show, Mopar teased a photo and a short video clip, both showing a new Dodge Challenger from the overhead view. The white Challenger showed a wide blue stripe down the center of the car with two pinstripes along each side. "Powered by SRT" runs across the top of the windshield, and Mopar logos grace both sides of the car just beneath the side windows. Red decals run back from the rear quarter panels and connect across the rear of the car. It also has hood pins on the SRT Hellcat hood and a parachute attached the rear. There's a parachute because this is the factory turnkey drag-race-focused Dodge Challenger racecar. Mopar released no other information on what type of hardware the Drag Pak will be using, or what's under the hood, but the video gives a great preview of the exhaust note in full tire-smoke mode. As some Drag Paks in the past have dropped roughly 1,000 pounds from their production starter vehicles, the 2020 model will surely utilize plenty of weight-savings methods such as the removal of all interior comfort features that don't apply on the racetrack. Mopar has also previously altered the position of the engine and changed the wheelbase to the benefit of better weight distribution. Mopar is set to livestream the unveiling starting at 7:26 p.m. ET (that's 4:26 on the West Coast, which not coincidentally coincides the the displacement of the vintage 426 Hemi engine) on Nov. 5, 2019. Until then, check out the 2009, 2010, 2011, or 2016 Drag Paks.
Dodge Challenger Shaker cars get Shakedown package stripes
Thu, Mar 8 2018In 2016, Dodge brought a custom 1971 Dodge Challenger to the SEMA show called the Shakedown. It melded modern Challenger parts with the classic model's body, and did so almost seamlessly. It of course featured a shaker hood scoop, and it also had a set of stripes to one side that gradually decreased in size to give the feeling of vibration and movement. The reception was clearly good, because Dodge has created a set of stripes just like those on the show car for modern shaker Challengers and made them available in a package with the Shakedown name. The Shakedown package is new for 2018 and available only on Challengers with the shaker hood scoop. These include the R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, and 392 Scat Pack Shaker. Just like on the concept, the stripes are all to one side and wrap around the hood scoop. The only difference is that they're all one color, whereas the '71 custom car had one stripe in red. In addition to the stripes, the package adds white-face gauges and an upgraded Alpine audio system. On R/T and R/T Plus models, this system has six speakers with a 275-watt amplifier, while the system on the Scat Pack has nine speakers with a 506-watt amplifier. The cost of the Shakedown package is $995, and it's available with any color of Challenger Shaker. And on the topic of colors, Dodge has also revived Plum Crazy and B5 Blue for 2018 Chargers and Challengers. Those colors will be available on any Charger or Challenger regardless of trim level.
