7/10/2014: OEM Head Unit plays static through speakers, forums say it needs replaced. They are approximately $50 on eBay and D&B Sales (local audio specialist) charges $50 to install a head unit. Easy work, but since I already have replaced the car, I am just looking to sell it ASAP, and have now listed it on eBay promptly.

I bought this fully loaded 2008 Avenger because I needed something good on gas to use for a sales and marketing job that I am doing, but decided that for the amount of time that I will be driving, it just isn't justifiable for me to maintain two separate cars, and I might as well just drive my primary car, and instead spend my money on a full size truck to have around the house.

You're going to be most interested in my car because of its combination of luxury and efficiency. It has a lot of neat features such as heated and cooled cupholders and a beverage cooler in the dash! With Bluetooth connectivity and Dodge's tradition of outstanding stereo systems, you will not be disappointed while you warm your butt with the heated leather seats. This V6 is also equipped with stability control and ABS and gets around 30MPG highway and leaves you not morphing into a pompous Prius owner.

Good:
Fuel Efficient V6 Engine
Automatic Transmission
One-Touch Power Windows
Power Locks with Key Fob
Remote Start (So nice in the winter. . .or scaring your friends)
Tilt Wheel
Chrysler Stereo System
Steering Wheel Stereo Controls
Cruise Control
Anti-Lock Brakes & Stability Control
Leather Heated Power Seats
Elegant Blue LED Illuminated Lighting
Complete Showroom Detail (Shampoo, Wash, Wax, etc)
Brand New Rear Tires (February 2014)
Great Condition Brakes & Tires All Around
18" Polished Alloy Premium Wheels
Halogen Fog Lights
Power Sunroof & Vented Roof
Sporty Rear Spoiler

Modifications:
None. This is a well-maintained vehicle, not a hot rod showboat car that was beat on.

Bad:
- The paint has some minor scratches here and there that are really only best seen in person. Years of the car being a sales commuter prior to my ownership and some unforgiving hotel parking lot warriors have scarred the body with a couple door dings, key marks, and most recently bumped one of the front bumper mounts loose as seen in the photos (slightly off line). It just needs a new $2.00 clip re-installed.

Other than the cosmetic flaws from being parked in hotel parking lots, this car is rip roaring and ready to go. I just had it professionally serviced to make sure it was ready. In addition to standard oil changes which it has always had, I also had a tie rod end and a wheel bearing serviced. I've found it's always much easier to service cars early, because it's usually a lot more expensive if something explodes, leaks, or fails, haha.

If you're interested, I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for taking the time to look at my ad. =]

Dodge gives 2015 Viper slight power increase, new GT model

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

With its troubling sales figures, the newly rechristened SRT Dodge Viper needs to come out swinging for 2015. To do that, Dodge has made a number of tweaks and changes that will hopefully carry the V10-powered sports car into more successful days.
First up for 2015 is a new GT model, which aims to marry the reasonable price of the base car with the adjustable suspension and trick stability control program of the GTS model. The GT also sports a cabin that's covered in Alcantara suede and Nappa leather as standard.
Also new for 2015 is the SRT TA 2.0 Special Edition, which expands on last year's Viper TA by adding new aerodynamic bits and bobs, including a larger rear wing, which ups downforce at 150 miles per hour from 278 pounds to 400 pounds.

Playing in the snow | 2017 Dodge Challenger GT First Drive

Sat, Jan 28 2017

The previous day was miserable. An icy rain fell over Portland, Maine, coating the pavement and making even walking a chore. Driving a muscle car like the Dodge Challenger seems ill-advised. But this is exactly the weather Dodge hoped for, because we're here to test the new all-wheel-drive 2017 Challenger GT. The morning of our test drive dawns sunny and cold. The remnants of a late January nor'easter now past, we nonetheless steel ourselves for a day of unruly roads. Stepping into an inch of slush, we open the huge door, climb inside, and nestle into the heavily bolstered driver's seat. Immediately comfortable, we know the Challenger well. It's an old friend. Late in life, it's finally finding stability. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Heading onto the Maine turnpike, we're struck by the Challenger's poise. All-wheel drive civilizes the coupe's brutish nature. We confidently navigate the first on-ramp – still wet from the storm – and merge onto the highway. A rear-wheel-drive car would come unsettled here, yet this Challenger's 19-inch wheels wrapped in all-season Michelin rubber are not disturbed. At the very least, the specter of tire spin would have made us overcautious. All-wheel drive doesn't morph the Challenger into a Subaru Outback, but it does make the Mopar a realistic year-round option for buyers north of the Mason-Dixon line. Dodge arrived at this conclusion after some introspection. The Challenger and its sibling the Charger sedan are usually cross-shopped with each other, and design is often the deciding factor. With Charger AWD sales remaining strong (in 17 Northern states at least 50 percent of Chargers are sold with the system), not offering an all-wheel Challenger leaves money on the table. Ben Lyon, Challenger brand manager, says the common refrain was, "I would have bought a Challenger, or I would have bought a two-door muscle coupe, if it was available with all-wheel drive." View 50 Photos Naturally, the Dodges share an AWD system, which has an active transfer case and the ability to disengage the front axle, making the Challenger a rear-wheel-drive car in certain conditions to help save fuel. Ambient temperature, wheel slip, Sport mode, passing situations, and the driver's behavior can trigger the all-wheel capability.

1970 Hemi Challenger is a family heirloom with serious muscle

Wed, Dec 30 2015

Petrolicious turns up the emotion in its latest video about a family's connection to their 1970 Dodge Challenger. The orange muscle car that gets the spotlight here is a remarkably beautiful vehicle, but the story of a father and his sons at the core of this clip might leave you feeling a little misty eyed. Juan Escalante is the current owner of this Challenger, but it belonged to his dad first. Juan's father spotted the iconic muscle car during the 1969 Detroit Auto Show and had to have one. He soon placed an order for the orange '70 Challenger R/T with the rare combination for that year of a 426 Hemi V8 and a four-speed manual gearbox. The family even brought the coupe with them when they moved to Venezuela in 1972, and local fans dubbed it El Hemi. However, parts were scarce for the muscle car in that country, and it returned to the US in 1996 for a restoration. Now, the rumbling Challenger with its Coke-bottle profile and black hood is the world's most awesome family heirloom for the Escalantes. In this poignant video, Petrolicious shows how the coupe connects Juan to his father. Related Video:
