This is a very rare 1993 Dodge Viper.  Dodge made 1043 Vipers in its second year with only 938 for the United States.  1993 was the first year for black of which only 115 of 1043 were made in black.  This car is called an antennae car or a 1992 carry-over.  This means that this car was hand built in the early months of 1993 unlike the later 1993 that were built in an assembly line once the plant came on-line.  This car is identical to a 1992 first year other than the color (all 1992 were red.) This car has the antennae on the rear fender, Viper logo'd calipers instead of RT/10 and a few other differences from the assembly line 1993s.  Translation is that This car is 1/17 hand built first year black vipers. Jay Leno has one of these as well. All that being said, the car is stock other than smooth tubes, K&N filters.  Second Generation Stainless Headers and muffler delete (original cats in place).  1996 Five Spoke wheels, upgraded stereo, and AfterMarket Hard Top with side windows, I have the original soft top with side windows, tonneau cover, car cover, original wheels with new Khumo tires, original stereo, exhaust manifolds, mufflers etc. The car has relitively new PS2 tires on 1995 five spoke Viper wheels. Also have 1993 original dodge dealer repair manual and all kinds of paperwork from day one.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat #0001 raises $825,000 for charity

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

$60,000 doesn't strike us as a lot to pay for a muscle car with 707 horsepower on tap. $825,000... now that's a different story. But, according to the official SRT blog, that's how much one generous and eager buyer paid for the privilege of getting his (or her) hands on the very first new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Decked out in Stryker Red paint that's usually reserved for the Viper, the supercharged Challenger bearing the VIN 0001 went up for auction at the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino in Las Vegas on Saturday under the auspices of Barrett-Jackson. By the time bidding ended, the gavel dropped at $825,000 - nearly 14 times the sticker price - 100 percent of which will benefit Opportunity Vehicle, a charity that aids the intellectually handicapped in the Las Vegas Area.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.

Dodge Dart Registry helps you crowdsource money for your next ride [w/video]

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

To be honest, we're surprised something like this didn't pop up sooner. Chrysler is riffing on gift registries for couples getting married or expecting babies and cross-pollinating it with a social media funding website like Kickstarter to help customers buy its 2013 Dodge Dart. The Dodge Dart Registry allows people to build and customize a new Dart exactly how they want it, then let other people purchase some or all of the components as gifts.
The registry lets you add features like dark headlights, dual exhaust, various wheels and even interior options without choosing a specific trim level. This sounds a lot like the system Scion uses to let its customers configure cars, and this could be a great idea for Dodge. Of course, this system has the added benefit of being a social media affair for you to share with your friends... you know, so they can help pay for some of the parts, too.
The best thing about the registry is that you can configure your dream Dart from the comfort of your home computer, which strikes us as much better than walking around Bed, Bath and Beyond for the better part of an afternoon with an electronic scanner. The one thing that Dodge doesn't offer? "Thank You" cards. Those are on you.
