Dodge Viper In Great Condition. Driven Regularly. 8.0l V10 Roadster on 2040-cars
Braselton, Georgia, United States
|
Vehicle is in great shape. Driven regularly. equipped with a light weight flywheel, 3.55 performance gears and custom exhaust. I still have the original mufflers and a differential with the original 3.07 gears. It is equipped with SRT 10 wheels. I have the chromed 3 spoke original style rims if desired. It is equipped with dealer added A/C. The only top I got with the vehicle is a Hard Top and Hard windows. The top is in good shape. The windows are not. I would classify them as poor. I never use them. I like the top off. and I stay out of the rain. Please keep in mind this car is over 20 years old. It has minor flaws but is a true head turner and parade car. I have driven it upwards of 250 miles at a time to car events. I am a Dodge technician and trained Viper tech. I have started teaching automotive and can no longer afford to keep the vehicle. It is being sold as is. Local pickup only. Buyer would have to set up any shipping. Cash preferred. Any other form of payment will need to clear my bank before I sign the Title. You may see the car by appointment. It is stored in the garage basement Climate controlled. You must have proof of insurance and a drivers license if you wish to test drive it. And I reserve the right to say no. This is a very serious car and you must understand these cars are to be treated with respect. |

Stellantis invests more than $100 million in California lithium project
Thu, Aug 17 2023Stellantis said it would invest more than $100 million in California's Controlled Thermal Resources, its latest bet on the direct lithium extraction (DLE) sector amid the global hunt for new sources of the electric vehicle battery metal. The investment by the Chrysler and Jeep parent announced on Thursday comes as the green energy transition and U.S. Inflation Reduction Act have fueled concerns that supplies of lithium and other materials may fall short of strong demand forecasts. DLE technologies vary, but each aims to mechanically filter lithium from salty brine deposits and thus avoid the need for open pit mines or large evaporation ponds, the two most common but environmentally challenging ways to extract the battery metal. Stellantis, which has said half of its fleet will be electric by 2030, also agreed to nearly triple the amount of lithium it will buy from Controlled Thermal, boosting a previous order to 65,000 metric tons annually for at least 10 years, starting in 2027. "This is a significant investment and goes a long way toward developing this key project," Controlled Thermal CEO Rod Colwell said in an interview. The company plans to spend more than $1 billion to separate lithium from superhot geothermal brines extracted from beneath California's Salton Sea after flashing steam off those brines to spin turbines that will produce electricity starting next year. That renewable power is expected to cut the amount of carbon emitted during lithium production. Rival Berkshire Hathaway has struggled to produce lithium from the same area given large concentrations of silica in the brine that can form glass when cooled, clogging pipes. Colwell said a $65 million facility recently installed by Controlled Thermal can remove that silica and other unwanted metals. DLE equipment licensed from Koch Industries would then remove the lithium. "We're very happy with the equipment," he said. "We're going to deliver. There's just no doubt about it." Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares called the Controlled Thermal partnership "an important step in our care for our customers and our planet as we work to provide clean, safe and affordable mobility." Both companies declined to provide the specific investment amount. Controlled Thermal aims to obtain final permits by October and start construction of a commercial lithium plant soon thereafter, Colwell said. Goldman Sachs is leading the search for additional debt and equity financing, he added.
2003-04 Dodge Viper recalled for sudden airbag deployment
Fri, 15 Feb 2013As if driving the old Dodge Viper (not the fancy new SRT model) isn't intimidating enough, imagine trying to wrangle that V10 beast and then suddenly having the airbags deploy. Yikes. That's apparently what could happen to some 3,660 Viper models from the 2003 and 2004 model years, and as such, Chrysler has issued a recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the car's airbag control module may fail, causing the bags or seatbelt pre-tensioners to deploy without warning while the vehicle is in operation. That's a dangerous scenario in any car, let alone one offering insane horsepower a near-total paucity of safety nannies should things get squirrely.
Owners will be notified this month about the recall, though a remedy is not expected to be available until later this year. Scroll down for the full NHTSA statement.
