Beautiful color scheme on this 2002 RT/10, graphite color
with black stripes and fewer than 27,000 miles. The rims are from a 2010 SRT-10 and are black
powder coated with absolutely no road rash. The tires have very little wear and
are 275/35/18 in the front and 345/30/19 in the back, all Michelin Pilot. The
car has a 7” Kenwood in dash DVD with Garmin GPS and Bluetooth. JBL Audio
speakers in the doors and a Kicker sub. The stereo and speakers were all done
plug and play so no cutting was done to the interior. HID headlights and fog
lights and a full 3” stainless Corsa exhaust system with no cats so it sounds
awesome. Comes with hard top and soft top, the soft top does have a crack in
the frame but I never had a sealing problem with it. Also has a custom painted
spoiler on the back but if you don’t like it you can easily remove it, it’s
bolted to the side of the trunk lid not the body. (see close up picture of the
bracket). Comes with car cover as well. The only issues with it are there is an imperfection on the
passenger side front fender where it looks like the paint ran when it was painted (see last close up) and the check engine light comes on due to the no cat exhaust. And finally the
door wire harness has pulled out of the door, not sure if the grommet can just
be pushed back in or not but it doesn't affect functionality. Other than that
the car is immaculate inside and out. (see close ups). I love this car but it’s a little more than I bargained for,
especially on the bumpy roads by my house. I want something that’s a little
more of an everyday driver. Make no mistake this thing has amazing power and with
450 horsepower you can overdo it extremely easily. |

Jeep Wrangler 4xe's hybrid powertrain: Could it be headed to other FCA products?
Fri, Sep 4 2020On its own, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid is a big deal for the brand and the model line. It's the most powerful and most efficient Wrangler by significant margins, and it doesn't give up the off-road capability that makes the Wrangler so special. But another great thing about this hybrid powertrain is its potential to be transplanted into other FCA vehicles. Just to recap, the layout of the Wrangler's hybrid powertrain, front to back, is as follows: engine, clutch, electric motor, clutch, transmission. The engine is the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that's a standalone engine for the Wrangler. The transmission and electric motor are sort of one unit, with the motor and clutch replacing the torque converter of the transmission. And the transmission itself is the ubiquitous eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Its transmission code name is 8HP75PH. The ZF eight-speed is available in every FCA product with a longitudinally-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, with variations in the amount of power and torque it can handle. Not only that, but the Ram 1500 and 2500 and the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator all have powertrains that utilize the non-hybrid version of the 8HP75 transmission specifically. Even the gear ratios for that transmission as well as the 8HP70 used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango, Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 are nearly identical to those in the 8HP75PH. And a Fiat-Chrysler representative confirmed that the transmission portion of the hybrid drivetrain is basically carry-over from the regular 8HP75. So a transplant could be a relatively simple process. As for which of these models would be the most likely to receive the hybrid powertrain first, the Jeep Gladiator and Ram 1500 would seem like good bets, since they likely have the most similar transmissions, and the Gladiator in particular because of its closely-related underpinnings to the Wrangler. Both are also highly profitable trucks that sell well and could justify the development costs of adapting another powertrain. And in the case of the Ram, there's the impending F-150 hybrid to think about. Although Ram isn't going after a fully electric model, a PHEV could be a nice middle ground. A potential limiting factor would be whether the hybrid powertrain would be sufficiently robust to handle heavy payload and towing demands, particularly over longer periods.
2015 Dodge Charger configurator opens up shop
Thu, Dec 11 2014Itching to get your hands on a new 2015 Dodge Charger? Your day is almost nigh, my friend While you're waiting, you can spec out how you'd want your muscle sedan to look as Dodge has included the revised four-door in its online configuration tool. Though it's not the most impressive or interactive of configurators we've seen, the site lets you choose any color you want (from the limited array available anyway) along with all the key options packages and such. First you'll need to choose a trim level though, but we're afraid the Hellcat version isn't part of this site, and the SRT site hasn't launched a configurator yet for the world's fastest production sedan, so you'll have to choose between SE, SXT and R/T trim levels. Watch dual-engined Dodge SRT4 do a FWD burnout, a RWD burnout, then AWD launch
Wed, Dec 3 2014There's something fantastically insane about racers who go out on their own and build something unique. Just take this crazy video from last year of a twin-engine Dodge SRT4 at a drag strip that can burn the rubber at either end – or both ends – at a moment's notice. With tires sticking out way past the fenders, a massive cooling system at the front and no back window to speak of, this Dodge is clearly meant solely for speed. Though it's real party trick is being able to spin the front or rear wheels independently. The setup makes for three quite showy burnouts. When it came time to actually get down the track, things got somewhat awkward. Like other twin-engine creations we've seen, the separate powertrains make for some odd sounds and a weird look launching down the strip. Still, there's no doubt that the engineering behind this Frankenstein is very impressive. Scroll down to see this monster in action and another of it in a very mismatched race last year.
