I'm putting up for sale my 2001 Dodge Viper GTS with numerous TOP SHELF modifications.

The car does currently have 51k miles on it but all the current modifications have less than 2k miles on them. At the time of install, the motor received an extensive test to ensure everything was 100% inside the engine prior to modifying. A Leakdown was performed prior to any work being done and all cylinders tested below 12 percent.

A&C Performance in Murrieta, CA performed all routine maintenance when this Viper was stock, and has done every single modification to the car.

I have added the following items to the car since owning it.

19/20 inch HRE 3 piece wheels
Upgraded Brake Pads with stainless brake lines.

The engine was disassembled to install the more aggressive 708 Cam. The benefit to the 2001 Vipers was an ABS Brake system, but the rowdy cam was removed. Now this car has the best of both worlds, and sounds extremely aggressive and rowdy.

At the time of cam install, we also replaced the lifters with low bleed lifters.

During assembly we decided to take all the red engine pieces and have them stripped and krinkle coated black. The finish is phenomenal and how the factory "should have built this car". The valve covers were removed, factory breather ports blocked off, and then machined for the A&C Performance Billet Breather blocks, also anodized in black. The valve covers were then sent off for coating. The inside of the valve covers were machined down for clearance to accommodate the T&D Shaft Mount Rocker System. These are the true T&D Shaft Mount Rockers, not the mopar brand T&D's.

Upon assembly, we also added Full Stainless American Racing Headers with metal substrate cats, and a full 3 inch stainless Corsa Exhaust System
172 Degree Thermostat
New Timing Set
A&C Performance full Breather system. All -10 AN Fittings to a custom Polished catch can setup. It looks amazing.

We then added a Fully Polished Paxton Supercharger system with upgraded intercooler system.
The fuel system was also upgraded over the standard Paxton setup to include 52lb side feed injectors all flow matched

The car on straight 91 octane consistantly makes 630 rwhp and 690 rwtq...

I explained to Todd from A&C Performance what I wanted and that I wanted a safe and reliable power house. He advised even more power could be made, but I was happy at this level.

The car is solid yellow with black stripes and is immaculate under the hood. I pride myself on upkeep and this car needs absolutely nothing.

Even though I have listed the events that took place, I cannot express how nice this car drives, and how mean it sounds, and how perfect the fit and finish is after receiving it back from A&C Performance. There are many items I am leaving out so I will make a complete list of upgrades following:

Full Fluid Flush including Rear Differential, Clutch, Power Steering, Brake, and Radiator
New Clutch
Aluminum Flywheel
New Clutch Slave
172 Degree Thermostat
All new gaskets throughout engine. Oil Pan, Head gaskets, Timing gaskets, Exhaust gaskets, etc...
Black Anodozed Tow Hooks
708 Camshaft
Mopar Low Bleed Lifters
New timing set
T&D Shaft Mount Rockers 1.7 Ratio
American Racing Headers with Metal Substrate Cats
Corsa 3 inch Stainless Exhaust
ABS 1200 degree black Spark Plug wires
Poly Engine Mounts
New Fuel Filter
New Belts
Hawk Brake Pads
Billet Rack Bushings
Short throw shifter
All new Vacuum line throughout
Fully Polished Paxton Supercharger Kit
Upgraded Intercooler
52 lb custom flow matched side feed injectors
New Hood Pad
A&C Performance Billet Brake, Clutch and Gas Pedals
A&C Performance full Billet Breather kit with Polished Tank and black Pro Flo Hose. All AN Fittings

Full custom Stereo system that sounds amazing.

No shortcuts on this car. Even when doing all the upgrades, the engine was fully removed and engine bay detailed prior to everything being reassembled.

ONLY reason for selling is for purchasing the new 2013 Viper....(in Yellow of course)

Feel Free to contact me with any questions.

On Feb-08-13 at 21:32:40 PST, seller added the following information:

Forgot to mention the final step in the process. Todd from A&C did all the tuning in the end via SCT and setup safety features in the tune. He absolutley knows these cars inside and out. For anybody who is not aware of him, please google him and see the amazing viper reputation his company has built.

Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set

Tue, Jul 19 2022

Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, henceĀ  the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950sĀ and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with theĀ American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.

Dodge Demon priced at $84,995, or almost 20 grand more than a Hellcat

Tue, May 23 2017

Ridiculousness has a price, and it is $84,995. That is the admission fee for the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, or as most people call it: The Demon. The number includes a $1,700 gas guzzler tax and $1,095 destination fee. It does not include a number of options, may of which cost a dollar. Of those $1 options, a front passenger seat and rear seats are but two. Which is more of a reminder that, yes, Dodge will sell you car with only one seat if you want it that way. The other big $1 option is the Demon Crate, which includes skinny front tires for the drag strip, an impact wrench and jack, and a performance powertrain control module that bumps the power up to 840 hp on race gas. Dodge says the true value of the crate is $6,140. Don't let that fool you, as chances are they're just baking that cost in the $19,705 increase from the Challenger Hellcat. Did we mention you can get a sunroof. Yes, you can get a sunroof, for $4,995. Surely one of the 3,300 Demon buyers (3,000 in the US, 300 in Canada) will take pride in checking every option box. For posterity, here's the entire list verbatim from Dodge's press release: Demon Crate ($1): Exclusive Demon Crate offers components that unleash the car's 840 horsepower, 770 lb.-ft. of torque and full potential at the drag strip and is personalized with the buyer's name, VIN and serial number. The Demon Crate and the performance parts it holds are valued at $6,140, but Challenger SRT Demon owners can buy the entire package for $1.
