For Dodge Vipers and other typical Manual Transmission 2 wheel drive cars, the conversion factor from RWHP (Rear Wheel Horse Power) to BHP (Flywheel Horse Power as used by Manufacturers) is 15% to compensate for the horsepower and torque loss through the drivetrain to the wheels. For reference here are the numbers.......(dyno sheets attached) A Stock 1997 Viper GTS made 450 BHP @ 500 Torque This Viper without Nitrous as modified makes: 579 BHP @ 592 Torque (Thats 504/515 RWHP & TORQUE x 1.15) This Viper With Nitrous as modified makes: 888 BHP @ 1,085 Torque! (Thats 771/944 RWHP & TORQUE x 1.15) The reason that this incredibly fast Viper is so docile and daily drivable is because I never tried to interfere or adjust the factory ECU program and mapping. All of the performance gains were made using methods that do not involve any “tuning” or tricking of the proprietary Chrysler ECU which has proven to be difficult at best. This Viper uses cylinder head flow, camshaft design and nitrous jetting to achieve the perfect tune for utmost in power and torque gains. Without using nitrous this Viper runs low 11’s at @ 125 MPH and has a very nice idle and drives like stock. When using nitrous this Viper is extremely quick and runs 150 MPH in the 1/4 mile and has run a 9 second E.T. at every drag strip we have put it on. This Viper has been a best of 9.62 E.T. (Houston Raceway Park) and has won several Viper Drag Racing Competitions. Please look us up on Dragtimes.com. All of the factory equipment on this Viper WORKS. The power windows, power door locks, CD/Stereo, Air Conditioning, Seat functions, all gauges, all lights, everything! Interior is in excellent condition with no cuts, tears or scratches. The only modifications to the interior were fitment clearances for the Roll Bar Installation. The Roll Bar in no way interferes with seat movement or viewing to the outside of the vehicle.
Included with this rare Viper is
ALL of the factory stock components that were removed to accommodate the
performance upgrades. The paint, Interior, Wheels, Engine and Drivetrain are all original and Numbers Matching to this Viper.
I have owned this Viper since 1998. It is a true Supercar, mild mannered at all times until you ask it to perform, then it becomes THE Superman of Vipers! Check my feedback and bid with confidence!

GTC deliveries take Rauh collection up to 79 Vipers [w/video]
Mon, Jul 27 2015How many Vipers is enough? One of the ten-cylinder supercars might be too much machine for most drivers to handle, but not for Wayne and D'Ann Rauh. The Texas couple already own 77 of Dodge's flagship model. And now they've taken delivery of two more. At the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit on Friday, the Rauhs received the keys to a pair of Dodge Viper GTCs, customized through the automaker's "1 of 1" customization program. The program allows owners to spec their Viper just the way they want it, with 50 million unique combinations. For their 78th and 79th additions, the Rauhs ordered one decked out in brown with black stripes for Wayne, the other in purple with white for D'Ann, to whom the majority of the collection belongs. Of course, both come equipped with an 8.4-liter V10 driving 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The couple will add the pair to their collection in Arp, TX, a town on the outskirts of Tyler, located between Dallas and Shreveport. The Rauh's garage already includes the last of the previous-generation Vipers decked out in two-tone gold finish. eGarage profiled the couple two years ago when their collection numbered "only" 65, and we have no doubt that number will only continue to grow as long as Dodge keeps building the legendary super-snake. Texas Dodge Viper Enthusiasts Receive Keys to Two New Customized '1 of 1' Dodge Viper GTC Models, Now Owners of 79 Vipers Total July 24, 2015 , Detroit - Dodge Viper owners Wayne and D'Ann Rauh elevate Viper Nation enthusiasm to a whole new level. On Friday, July 24, the couple visited the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit to receive keys to not one, but two new customized "1 of 1" Dodge Viper GTC models, making them proud owners of a total of 79 Dodge Vipers. Through the new Viper "1 of 1" customization program, owners can create their very own one-of-a-kind Snake. No two customers can order the same configuration, including color, in the same model year. With the introduction of matte-finish exterior paint, the 2016 Viper is now offered in more than 50 million unique build configurations, made up from the more than 16,000 unique paint color options and more than 48,000 unique stripe combinations.
Dodge Charger Pursuit nets quickest lap in police car test
Mon, 30 Sep 2013We wouldn't advocate trying to outrun the police, no matter what you're driving and no matter what they are. But if you see a Dodge Charger bearing down on you with blue lights flashing in your rearview mirror, you'd better think twice before attempting to flee, because the Charger Pursuit has once again emerged as the fastest police cruiser out there.
In the latest Police Vehicle Evaluation held by the Michigan State Police at Grattan Raceway, Dodge says its new Charger Pursuit AWD posted a lap time of 1:33.85. That's quicker than any of the other law enforcement vehicles present, but also makes it the quickest all-wheel-drive cruiser available to law-enforcement officials. That may not make it the quickest of all time, but that honor belongs to the rear-drive Dodge Charger Pursuit, which cuts a fraction of a second off its AWD counterpart's time with a 1:33.70. But in regions where the extra traction could come in handy, that's as negligible a difference as we've ever seen.
Of course, the annual PVE sessions held by the Michigan State Police take in to account a wide variety of performance tests, including top speed, acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy and ergonomics. The MSP has yet to reveal its full findings from its 2014 model year tests, but we'll be sure to bring them to you when they are published.
General Patton's Dodge WC57 Command Car headed to auction
Thu, Apr 9 2020Indiana will see some excellent vintage metal on several auction blocks this summer. Mecum Auctions has the 1965 Pontiac GeeTO Tiger and 1963 Shelby Cobra that was a Ford demonstrator planned for in Indiana in late June. Two weeks before that, and as noted by Carscoops, Worldwide Auctioneers will offer what could have been Gen. George S. Patton’s Dodge WC57 Command Car. We say "could have been" because although the WC57 came out of the National Military History Center in Auburn, Indiana, a few years ago and is fitted with the modifications Patton made to his personal WC57, the auction house doesn't have paperwork explicitly linking Patton to this car, and there are other replicas of Patton Command Cars out there. That could help explain why when RM Auctions put this WC57 up for sale in 2017 with a pre-sale estimate of $100,000 to $150,000, the vehicle failed to make the $60,000 reserve. Dodge had been making vehicles for the U.S. military since before World War I, most of them based on civilian models. Before the U.S. entered World War II, Dodge turned its civilian TC pickup into the 1940 VC-1 military truck. The VC-1 quickly evolved into the WC range, the WC57 Command and Reconnaissance Weapons Carrier riding on a three-quarter-ton, 4x4 chassis and weighing almost 5,400 pounds. Built from 1942 to 1945, they were powered by Dodge's T214 side-valve, 230-cubic-inch inline-six with 92 horsepower. Â This content is hosted by a third party. General PattonÂ’s Dodge WC-57 Command Car - Offered Without Reserve The WC57 was simple, reliable, capable, and at the end of the war, was part of the inspiration for the Dodge Power Wagon. The story is that soldiers returning from active duty badgered Dodge for a civilian version of the indefatigable WC warhorse, so Dodge responded with the postwar's most hardcore pickup in 1946. The open-topped WC57 rig was also popular with U.S. Army officers, and because of that, it was popular target practice for German infantry and Luftwaffe pilots. So Patton, before heading to France in 1944 with the Third Army, had the motor pool in Cheltenham, England, modify his WC57. Mechanics added an armor flap to shield the radiator, half-inch armor plate under the floor, and a Browning M2 .50-caliber machine gun for fending off aerial attacks. A second, drop-down tailgate provided extra space and covered tool storage.
