** The One & Only ** Gtav Bravado Banshee By Rockstar And West Coast Customs ** on 2040-cars
Havelock, North Carolina, United States
I was the lucky winner of the 2013 GTAV Bravado Banshee from the PowerUp GameStop Epic Rewards Giveaway. It was created by Rockstar Games with modifications by West Coast Customs.
This is a one-of-a-kind build. It is wonderfully fast and loud sports car that turns heads everywhere it goes and draws a crowd if it stops! It has custom body modifications, specialty rim tires, full trunk stereo system, new gel battery and many other features. It is actually a 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 that has been modified both inside and out to look like the Bravado Banshee in the Grand Theft Auto video game series. The ARV of this vehicle is $180K. However, as a fixed income mom with two boys getting ready to head to college, I need the money more than a race car (even though it is fun to drive!). Some information from the Rockstar Games site: Ever since its debut as the getaway car in the opening moments of Grand Theft Auto III,
the Bravado Banshee has been a symbol of the ultimate American sports
car. With its aggressive, oversized styling and powerful engine, it
became a mainstay as one of the most sought after high-performance rides
from coast to coast - from Liberty City all the way to Los Santos... Significant work went into creating this real world version of the 2013 model featured in Grand Theft Auto V.
Utilizing state-of-the-art fabrication technologies, molds for the
exterior were cut and machined piece-by-piece for the high performance
base vehicle. With these molds each panel was laid out by hand to create
an entirely new exterior resulting in a screen accurate reproduction of
the Banshee.
Referencing the model and textures of the in-game car, the interior was
handcrafted and stitched to capture the look and feel of its detailed
cockpit, with seats upholstered and embroidered with the Banshee name
and insignia. The dashboard, door panels and center console were
reconfigured and finished with carbon inlays. And finally, a
multi-speaker premium sound system was installed before giving it the
iconic metallic blue exterior complete with ice white racing stripe. The result is a one-of-kind supercar worthy of
representing the Banshee's heritage and a tribute to some of the deep
customization options you'll find in the Los Santos Customs shops of GTA V, where you can equip and style your vehicles with a wide range of visual and performance-based enhancements. |

An inside look at Mopar's SEMA fleet
Fri, 31 Oct 2014Mopar is heading to the SEMA show in Las Vegas with a fleet of customized vehicles that appeal to enthusiasts of all stripes. There's a Dodge Viper ACR concept that follows in the lineage of the supercar's great road racing past, and a custom Ram ProMaster that might just be the ultimate outdoor party machine.
We got an inside look at Mopar's cars that will be on display at the show, which also include a Dodge Challenger T/A concept, two crazy Jeeps and a Ram 2500 Outdoorsman that could change the way you camp. While these are some of our favorites, Mopar is bringing plenty to SEMA, so let us know your top choices in the comments section.
The Dodge Demon gets a Drag Mode and a lesson in Newtonian physics
Thu, Feb 23 2017It's Thursday morning, which means we have more news on the upcoming Dodge Demon, the pumped-up Challenger Hellcat variant that's looking to cause mayhem at a drag strip near you. This week's video, "Third Law," shows the Demon's revised suspension in action and displays another one of SRT's cryptic messages. Dodge claims that the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 in the Hellcat twins is compromised because it's fitted to a car that needs to be comfortable on the street in addition to a performer on the drag strip. Not so with the Demon, as Dodge says the car is "designed to be highly competent in all drive modes and configurations," including the all-new Drag Mode. Dodge says details about the new mode will trickle out over the next few weeks, but all the info this week focused on suspension. The "Third Law" in this week's title refers to Isaac Newton and motion: "When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on the first body." We're not sure what Newton would have thought seeing the sidewall wrinkling Nitto NT05R drag radials in action, but he'd probably have a reaction of some sort himself. An ideal suspension setup for the drag strip makes for a poor setup on the road. As Dodge puts it, the "old school" way to set up a drag car was to "get the quickest reacting springs upfront, the softest rebound front shocks that wouldn't restrict the springs' reaction, remove any restrictions (sway bar) and increase the compression of the rear shocks." This would give a car great front to rear weight transfer but made for very poor lateral direction control, meaning minor corrections were difficult. The Demon's Drag Mode will use electronics to give the car the best combination of launch and lateral stability. Dodge listed some of the parts to help aid in this goal. They also gave us a few equations that we can't make sense of. Let us know if you have any clues. Hardware: 35 percent lower rate front springs/28 percent lower rate rear springs 75 percent lower rate hollow front sway bar/44 percent lower rate rear sway bar Drag-tuned Bilstein Adaptive Damping Shocks Software: Rear = F/F and Front = F/S F/F – F/S maintained @ wide open throttle (WOT) F/F – F/F < WOT Traction control disabled/ESC maintained Result: 13.5=575@500 Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 1994 Dodge Caravan with manual transmission
Tue, Jul 4 2017The K Platform saved Chrysler from certain doom after the company's 1979 bailout by the federal government, and one of the most successful K-based vehicles was the one that spawned the American minivan craze in 1984: the original Dodge Caravan/Plymouth Voyager. Built all the way through the 1995 model year, these K-Caravans or K-Voyagers could be purchased with a four- or five-speed manual transmission, but just a handful were sold that way. Here's an extraordinarily rare late 5-speed example, spotted in a San Francisco Bay Area wrecking yard. The shifter location is a little awkward, requiring the driver to reach back a bit more than would be the case in, say, a Dodge Shadow (which shared the same powertrain). It's too bad that Chrysler never offered these vans with five-on-the-tree manuals. Even though plenty of Mitsubishi-V6-powered front-wheel-drive Chryslers of the late 1980s and early 1990s were available with manual transmissions (e.g., the Chrysler Laser/Dodge Daytona or the Plymouth Sundance/Dodge Shadow), Chrysler minivan shoppers who wanted a stickshift had to take the four-cylinder engine (either a Chrysler 2.2/2.5 or, in the early years, a Mitsubishi 2.6 Astron). This one has the naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine that went into so many Plymouth Acclaims and Chrysler LeBarons. In 1995, it was rated at 100 horsepower, which made for stately acceleration with a full load of passengers. For the 1989 and 1990 model years, a 150-horse turbocharged Chrysler 2.5 with 5-speed was the high-performance minivan setup... and you should let us know if you find a factory-built one. This is only the second example of a manual-trans-equipped 1990s Chrysler minivan I have found in the junkyard (the first was this '93 Voyager), and both vans were lightly-optioned El Cheapo models with cloth seats and hand-crank windows; the manual transmission was a bit cheaper than the automatic in those days. At least this one has air conditioning. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
