2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Conversion High Top van by Explorer. Equipped with the four captains chairs and a rear bench seat that folds down into a bed large enough to sleep two adults. The second row of captains chairs are easily removeable and the one next to the back door swivels for easier entry/exit.
This van has the very reliable Dodge 318 V8 engine and runs like a new one with only 80,000 miles on it. Everything works smoothly as new with no needed repairs or adjustments. Tires have about 6,000 miles on them. The vehicle does have a factory tow package and Class III Reese hitch and the automatic overdrive with the tow switch on the lever. I have towed a 5000 lb car and trailer for over a thousand miles and you barely know it's there. At highway speeds there is no need to disable the overdrive when towing this amount of weight. I just switched if off when in towns or when climbing long mountain grades.
The original carpet has been replaced with a new commercial grade of carpet that matches the interior of the van. All the upholstery is in excellent condition showing no signs of wear or fading. Outside there are a very few small dings as you would normally expect from a vehicle this age. Paint and striping is excellent and shiny.
The TV and DVD player in the back can be disabled by the driver and all the rear lighting also is controlled by the driver on the overhead console. There is a rear stereo with tape player that can be played on the rear entertainment speakers or through headphones with four sets of headphone jacks installed. TV also plays either on speakers or on headphones.
This is an excellent vehicle for making long trips with the family. I have a plug in 12VDC refrigerator that fits in back behind the seats to keep the family drinks an lunch cool during travel that goes with the van. This van is very quiet on the road and easy for anyone to drive. It is the long wheel base (127 inch) so it does not have the long back extension behind the rear wheels but the body is longer than a standard van.
Please don't bid unless you intend to buy and have the funds available for your purchase. I am an individual seller and cannot provide any type of financing. Please send me an email and ask any questions you have. I will be glad to answer and can send you photos of anything you want to see more of. If you want to talk to me about the van, please send me an email and I will send you a phone number to call or send me your number and I will call you. I will get back to you quickly.
The van is also for sale locally and the auction will be ended if it sells before the ending of the time on auction. If you want to come see it, send me a phone number and I will call to arrange that or to have someone in the area look for you if that is what you want. I will take it to a garage for inspection at your expense if you want as well.
I need a cash deposit via Paypal upon purchase of the van and will work out the final payment with you. It will have to be paid before it can leave here. If you want it shipped, make the arrangements and I will meet with the shipper to help get it out on my end.
Please ask questions on anything you want to know. I will post the questions and answers if they are general in nature and do not concern purchase price or personal information.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

The Dodge Neon is alive!
Tue, Nov 6 2018"Holy crap! It's a new Dodge Neon! Like a new new one." Oddly, no one else on the Cancun resort shuttle seemed to notice. Or care. Ogling Mexican-market compact sedans is apparently something exclusive to automotive journalists on vacation. Yet there it was, fittingly on Dio de los Muertos, in all its resurrected glory. With a margarita in hand and an ocean in front of me, ignored, I turned my attention to my phone to get to the bottom of Neon version 3.0. Introduced for 2016, today's Dodge Neon is based upon and built alongside the Fiat Tipo/Egea, a C segment compact sedan co-developed by Fiat and Turkish industrial outfit Koc Holding. More than 125,000 were sold last year in Europe, with another 47,000 in Turkey. It's also sold in the Middle East and Africa, with Mexico alone getting the Neon version. Exterior styling is really the only difference, and then, only the crosshair grille manages to identify it as a Dodge. Then again, the same could be said for the not-so-dearly departed Dart, which belonged to the same segment. It was much bigger, though, with an extra 6 inches of overall length and 3 inches of wheelbase (which, as I just discovered, is "distancia entre ejes" en espanol). The Neon interior, not surprisingly, is pretty much the same as its Fiat siblings. The dash has two variations. A bigger, upgrade touchscreen resides in a dash-mounted, tablet-style infotainment pod, but the standard stereo head unit or 5-inch touchscreen upgrade fits into a binnacle shared with the instrument panel. It's a bit more like the Challenger, Charger, and yes, Dart in this regard, but in total, the Neon's cabin design is also less blocky and more organic in appearance. The switchgear is pure Fiat, but the steering wheel has the same control layout as Dodges, Jeeps and Chryslers. Power comes from the Challenger Scat Pack's 6.4-liter Hemi V8. No, it doesn't, I totally got you. The standard engine, dubbed FIRE, is a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder good for 95 horsepower and 94 pound-feet of torque. So, less than the Scat Pack. The optional engine, dubbed E.TorQ, which is in no way related to the Ram's eTorque mild hybrid system and not especially eTorquey, is a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder good for 110 hp and 112 lb-ft. Sadly, the Neon color selection is in no way neon, which probably doesn't matter since virtually every car on the Yucatan peninsula is painted white.
Dodge Challenger Hellcat drift video is pure horsepower porn
Fri, Mar 27 2015We could listen to the whining, snarling 6.2-liter Hemi V8 in the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats all day long. The noise just sounds like power that's being barely restrained and is everything about a muscle car that's right. The team at Pennzoil apparently understands that allure, too. The oil company has a new video where it lets the engine roar for over a minute, while a Challenger does some big, smoky drifts through an abandoned city. The whole stunt is edited together in a slickly produced way that looks fantastic. Although, the big finale might go a little too far and starts straining believability. Nonetheless, the Hellcat's wonderful noise is still the star of this show. Related Video:
How fracking is causing Chrysler minivans to sit on Detroit's riverfront
Fri, 25 Apr 2014It's fascinating the way that one change to a complex system can have all sorts of unintended consequences. For instance, there are hundreds of new Chrysler Town and County and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans built in Windsor, Ontario, sitting in lots on the Detroit waterfront because of the energy boom in the Bakken oil field in the northern US and parts of Canada.
The huge amount of crude oil coming from these sites mostly use freight trains for transport, and that supply boom has resulted in a shortage of railcars to carry other goods. According to The Windsor Star, North American crude oil transport by train has gone from 9,500 carloads in 2008 to 434,032 carloads in 2013. Making matters worse, some North American rail infrastructure is still damaged because of this year's harsh winter, and that's slowing things down even further.
Chrysler admits to The Star that it has had some delivery delays due to the freight train shortage. In the meantime, it's using more trucks to deliver its vehicles. Trucking is a far less economical solution, partially because a train can carry so many more units at one time, but alternatives are slim. The Windsor plant alone has a deal for 33 trucks to distribute the minivans around Canada and the Midwestern US.
