Ok, so I'm listing a 2003 ram quad cab ST/SLT. The vin is 3D7LU38673G848698. This has the Cummins with auto and four wheel drive. I acquired this truck in trade back in December 2011. I got it from the original owner with 298509 miles, it now has 332,150. This truck has a fisher minute mount 2 three plug plow set up, but no plow. I've never plowed with it, but it was used as plow and work truck up till I got it. This truck is a work plow truck and it was an east coast truck with plenty of road salt. This truck has dents, scratches, rust and rot. It needs work. This truck still runs and drives, 4x4 works, tires are matched set of firestones with 6/32nds left. I was still using it till last week and am now driving a shop truck.  I started driving a shop truck because the rear axle is making some noise and I don't have time for a project anymore. I have not opened the rear, but I am sure it is getting worn, so it's time for someone else to work on this. When I first got this truck, I had to put a new radiator, new transmission cooler, one new transmission line, right front caliper, new front axle u-joints, new front wheel bearings, new front rotors, one injector line and a new oil pan. The transfer case was rebuilt with new chain sprockets, bearings, and even new cases, but I didn't replace the selector switch so the dash light to show it being engaged does not work. I really will miss this old truck, but I can't justify keeping it. Last winter I think the heater core plugged and needs replaced. The windshield wiper module needs changed, the drivers side works but linkage to pass side does not. The air conditioner worked last year, but now I can hear a hissing by the air filter, so it will need new lines and some work. The cd player never worked. The drivers seat side is worn off, drivers arm rest is cracked, the drivers rocker is rotting thru and all the corners are starting to show rust. It is still drivable, but the check engine light is on 70% of the time. I was told it needed an FCA, but it has been very fun and dependable. I drove this back and forth to east coast a few times and towed all kinds of stuff with this truck.  The person I got it from said at 240000 he had transmission rebuilt, and the only thing he ever had to replace on the engine was one water pump--Love the Cummins! The bed is off another truck. The last owner said that one of his workers hooked a ditch with the plow and spun into a delivery truck, and had to get the bed, rear axle, and bumper changed. Also the truck was repainted some time ago. Anyway ask questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I recommend you come and look at it if you are interested.

Nine cars we wish were convertibles

Thu, Apr 16 2015

The snow has melted, the sun is shining, and the days are getting longer. At the Autoblog Detroit office we feel like our winter hibernation is finally over. And with warmer temperatures come visions of opening up a convertible roof and cruising. You know, just turn up the bass and let the Alpine blast. There are plenty of droptops on sale in the US, and more on the way (like the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata). That said, we always want more. More! More! More! In that spirit, we cooked up a list of nine cars aren't currently sold as convertible, but ought to be. Check out our picks, below. Summer's just around the corner. Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S In some parallel universe, this car actually happened. Toyota showed us a FT 86 Convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and we immediately started licking our chops over the thought of a rear-wheel-drive convertible based on the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins. These days, the MX-5 Miata is our only option for affordable roadster fun. A competitor to the Mazda seems like a no-brainer to us, especially since we have naught but good to say about the BRZ/FR-S as-is. Unfortunately in our present timeline, this car is as likely for production as a BRZ STI. Which is to say, not very. Dang. Lexus RC F Unlike the FR-S, a convertible from Toyota's luxury division might actually see the light of day. The current IS convertible is about to be phased out, and the Lexus LF-C2 concept from the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is really a thinly veiled look at a possible RC convertible. A droptop RC would be plenty good, but let's reach for the starts. What we really want is to run topless in an RC F, complete with that powerful, loud, 5.0-liter V8 engine. Lexus says the RC F is a true competitor to the BMW M4. If that's true, it only makes sense for Lexus to mimic the Germans and offer its performance coupe in a folding hardtop form. Maybach Landaulet Maybach is bach back, recast as an upper crust trim level for Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is seriously awesome, and more luxurious than a trip to the spa. But why not go a step into the truly ridiculous levels of extravagence and bring back that open-top Landaulet? We think your local princess will love this idea, and with better S-Class bones underneath, Jeeves will have a pretty enjoyable ship to steer, too. Besides, with that slick new Mercedes design language, a Landaulet redux wouldn't be nearly as hideous as the old model, pictured here.

Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.
