Up for sale again due to an non paying buyer is my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab Long Bed 4x4 with ST trim package. Has the 5.9 Cummins. Currently has 225,089 miles, but will go up. Manual locks and windows and vinyl floor. Truck is bone stock except for an aftermarket air filter and 5" stack. To my knowledge truck has never been chipped or had a programmer. Has heavy duty bumpers on front and rear. has cab lights, just need wired in. Trailer brake controller, gooseneck hitch, spray in bed liner and drop in bed liner. all door windows and back window are all tinted. New Pioneer head unit in January with iPod/aux input.  If you are looking for a show truck keep looking, this is a truck and has been used as such. The interior is in good shape, with usual wear and tear, drivers seat has small tear, center console/armrest vinyl has some cracks in it, and a few small light stains here and there. I have had seat covers on all seats since i bought it. Heat works great, and A/C works as well but will need charged. The exterior is in pretty good shape as well, but there are a few small dents on the roof that were there when i bought it that i didn't realize were there until i went to install the cab lights a few months after purchasing the truck, almost looks like a chain of some sort hit it, did not break through the paint though. A trailer clipped the front passenger door near the bottom and dented it and scaled it down to the metal and has some surface rust starting.  I installed a new water pump last fall, and it also had a bad rear ABS speed sensor that has been fixed but the dummy lights are still on and I don't have a code reader to clear them.  Overall the truck runs out good, but will need some work.  The truck seemed to have the symptoms of the "shuttle shift" problem common with the 48RE trans, so I replaced the governor pressure solenoid and transducer, along with the trans filter and it helped the issue some but it still wasnt fixed completely. However in reading up on what can cause the issues the truck is having I came across an article on failing torque converters and how they are often times overlooked because the symptoms seem like a transmission problem.   After reading up on torque converter failure symptoms, what the truck does is spot on with  torque converter failure symptoms. So with that said It looks like the truck will need a new torque converter. It also has a slow fluid leak around the area the torque converter is located, yet another symptom of a failing TC. Could use shocks in the near future as well. The truck has 295/70/R17 nitto terra grapplers on it that are about 30-40% tread. I also have the stock radio, exhaust, and air filter box that will go with the truck.
My wife did hydroplane into a ditch last fall and did cosmetic damage to the passenger side.no structural damage was done. All damage from the incident has been fixed and you can't tell there ever was any damage, but i wanted to be honest and upfront about it.

As stated earlier this is a truck and was used as such, so if your looking for a show truck keep looking. But with a little TLC and some work you can have it in tip top shape and have a great truck for years to come. Only reason I'm selling is my wife just had twins and I don't have the time or extra money to put into the truck right now. KBB on this truck in fair condition is $16k, I have it priced well below that, only asking what I still owe on it. IF YOU HAVE LESS THEN 10 FEEDBACK PLEASE CONTACT ME BEOFRE BIDDING

TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS, THERE IS NO WARRANTY, NOR DO I GAURENTEE ANYTHING. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE EVERYTHING TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE . IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME, YOU CAN CALL OR TEXT ME AT 3093394341.  DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT SOMETHING, ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!!!!   the truck is for sale locally so it may end at anytime. Local pickup. $500.00 deposit due at the end of the auction.

How to turn a Dodge airport tug into a trail slayer

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Sometimes, having a ton of fun requires takes a ton of work. Just nine days before the so-called Ultimate Adventure 2014, the folks behind 4-Wheel & Off-Road had 40 tasks to complete in order to turn the ratty truck pictured above into a machine that could excel on treacherous off-road trails while still being able to handle highway jaunts. Much of process behind the build was chronicled on the latest episode of Dirt Every Day.
The team's vehicle started life as a 1990 Dodge tug truck that spent part of its life hauling around airplanes. The builders hung on to the Cummins six-cylinder diesel, but they tossed out practically everything else for the project, with some seriously heavy-duty replacement parts for the transmission, transfer case, axles and a whole lot more. The process was certainly a ton of work, but the end result looks like a fantastic crawler.
Sure, it might have been easier to bring a truck that was already prepared, but where would the fun in that have been? Stay tuned until the end of the video for a few glimpses of the completed Dodge and peek at some of the punishment it goes through.

Daily driving a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

Tue, Feb 9 2016

I took delivery of my 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat at Ron Carter Dodge in League City. Bobby Pate and the entire Ron Carter team made the buying experience painless. Thanks, guys! It was worth the nine-month wait to get a new Challenger Hellcat at sticker price. My Hellcat is Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl with a black interior. The car has the six-speed manual transmission and UConnect. Yes, I know the eight-speed automatic is faster, but the manual transmission provides a level of enjoyment that must be experienced to be appreciated. My original intention was to write daily about my experiences with the Hellcat, but I have been having too much fun with the car. The first 100 miles required incredible self-control to keep the car under 55 mph and engine speed under 3500 rpm. The difference in the driving experience after 500 miles was – and I am only exaggerating a little – life altering! The Red Key To paraphrase Morpheus in The Matrix, "You take the black key, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red key, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." The black key is in a place where it will stay until the red key is snatched from my cold, dead hand. The red key is the only key. The red key is "The Key." All 707 horsepower are available with the red key. You can lower the horsepower to only 500 using the SRT pages, I have heard, but why? I have driven the Hellcat in bumper-to-bumper Houston traffic in red-key mode. I have driven the Hellcat in the pouring rain in red-key mode. I have driven the Hellcat to the mall, to the grocery store, to the movies, and to Killen's Steakhouse in Pearland for a 100% Japanese Wagyu steak from the Kagoshima Prefecture. (It was a birthday present from my son. My money goes into the gas tank of my Hellcat.) Just for fun, I used the SRT Pages to put the car in valet mode. For those of you who do not know, valet mode limits the horsepower to: oh, hell! Who cares? The car felt like the parking brake had not been disengaged. I have heard rumors that the Tremec six-speed transmission has a 1-4 skip-shift feature. My Hellcat has never been subjected to this travesty.Questions, questions, and more questions Q: How much over sticker did you have to pay? A: Zero Q: What kind of gas mileage do you get? A: ROTFL Q: How did you ever talk your significant other into letting you buy the Hellcat? A: I didn't ask.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
