Recently inspected 2003 dodge ram 2500 4 door crew cab with the Laramie package with mahogany inserts in dash-doors and a 4 in. lift in front and a 3 in. lift in rear. It has power everything, as well as it has a 4 wheel drive selector switch not a lever and works on the fly of course with both front and rear solid Dana 60 axles. The truck has a custom bumper and grill guard combo which is about $2000.00 alone, and the common problem with the heater selection flap has been fixed and replaced with steel so never going to be an issue again. There is no CEL on and the vehicle has a 5.7 HEMI with 184,xxx miles but wouldn't know it still plenty of power tows a 5800 pd camper almost like its not there. Just recently rebuilt the front steering components (tie rod ends, pit-man arm knuckle, track arm with new knuckle), also new universal in front axle and new ZONE shocks and ZONE steering stabilizer shock, also new upper and lower ball joints replaced at the same time as steering components which ran me about $1500.00. The truck has dual power seats in the front and heated also, as well as leather front and rear. It has an infinity factory stereo with a 6 disk changer built in head unit and let me tell you it sounds awesome for a factory stereo. The things in need of attention, such as surface rust starting in rear tire wells (just surface NO RUST HOLES), trail arm bushings (which i already have and might be on before purchase), front and rear oil pan main seal need to be replaced, and a light tranny leak, also a new orphice filter tube for the a/c and some tires by next years i would suggest and a rear window but i have a piece of plexi sealed on it now. all in all its a good bang for the buck!!!! Blue Book in fair condition $9200 so I'm going to let it go for $7500.00 or best offer

Dodge Demon gets official insurance from Hagerty

Tue, Jul 11 2017

Hagerty Insurance has been covering enthusiast and classic cars for years, and now it will be offering special policies just for 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon owners – all 3,000 of them in the US and 300 in Canada, if they want. The big advantage to the Hagerty policies will be the Guaranteed Value coverage. Demon owners won't have to haggle about what the car's worth; Hagerty will set the value at the time the policy is issued, so there's no question about coverage should an owner total a Demon. Trust us: At least one owner will total a Demon, and that's a very conservative estimate. Dodge seems to be happy about the arrangement. Tim Kuniskis, who heads up the North American passenger car brands division, said in a statement that, "We didn't build the Demon to be a halo car that never sees the light of day – we want to make sure that Demon owners have access to the insurance they need to get these cars out on the street, for all the Dodge/SRT enthusiasts to see and appreciate their performance." Ordered a Demon and interested in coverage? There's a dedicated hotline for Demon owners at (844) 840-8733, or you can visit Hagerty's site and start a quote online. You're probably wondering if any of these policies will cover you at the strip. So are we. We're asking Hagerty and will fill you in when we have information. Related Video:

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon sheds seats and insulation to drop weight

Tue, Jan 31 2017

You've probably already heard that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be lighter than the Hellcat Challenger – to tune of more than 200 pounds. What you probably don't know is that the Dodge team did it by dropping most of the seats, along with a few other tricks. The Demon loses 113 pounds by making the front passenger seat with its seatbelt (58 pounds) and back seat (55 pounds including restraints and floor mats) optional, which accounts for a large chunk of the weight loss compared to the Hellcat. The Demon also has unique 18-by-11-inch wheels, which are 16 pounds lighter than the Hellcat's, a manual tilt/telescope steering column instead of the powered one, which loses four pounds, and an 18-pound loss thanks to removing 23 noise, vibration, and harshness parts (the Demon will not be a quiet car, to say the least). Another 20 pounds is lost removing the trunk interior trim and spare tire. Still, the Demon gains 17 pounds thanks to the wide fender flares that accommodate the massive drag radials, which also add 3.5 inches to the car's width. For reference, the lightest Hellcat weighs 4,448 pounds with a manual transmission, and the automatic-equipped car comes in at 4,455 pounds. The Demon will be revealed in April before the New York Auto Show, and Dodge will continue to tease its latest satanic muscle couple weekly until then. Are supercars becoming less special?

Thu, Sep 3 2015

There's little doubt that we are currently enjoying the golden age of automotive performance. Dozens of different models on sale today make over 500 horsepower, and seven boast output in excess of 700 hp. Not long ago, that kind of capability was exclusive to supercars – vehicles whose rarity, performance focus, and requisite expense made them aspirational objects of desire to us mortals. But more than that, supercars have historically offered a unique driving experience, one which was bespoke to a particular model and could not be replicated elsewhere. But in recent years, even the low-volume players have been forced to find the efficiencies and economies of scale that formerly hadn't been a concern for them, and in turn the concept of the supercar as a unique entity unto itself is fading fast. The blame doesn't fall on one particular manufacturer nor a specific production technique. Instead, it's a confluence of different factors that are chipping away at the distinction of these vehicles. It's not all bad news – Lamborghini's platform sharing with Audi for the Gallardo and the R8 yielded a raging bull that was more reliable and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, and as a result it went on to become the best-selling Lambo in the company's history. But it also came at the cost of some of the Italian's exclusivity when eerily familiar sights and sounds suddenly became available wearing an Audi badge. Even low-volume players have been forced to find economies of scale. Much of this comes out of necessity, of course. Aston Martin's recent deal with Mercedes-AMG points toward German hardware going under the hood and into the cabin of the upcoming DB11, and it's safe to assume that this was not a decision made lightly by the Brits, as the brand has built a reputation for the bespoke craftsmanship of its vehicles. There's little doubt that the DB11 will be a fine automobile, but the move does jeopardize some of the characteristic "specialness" that Astons are known for. Yet the world is certainly better off with new Aston Martins spliced with DNA from Mercedes-AMG rather than no new Astons at all, and the costs of developing cutting-edge drivetrains and user interfaces is a burden that's becoming increasingly difficult for smaller manufacturers to bear. Even Ferrari is poised to make some dramatic changes in the way it designs cars.
