I have a 2002 Dodge ram 2500 with the 360 V8 Magnum motor in it. The truck has just under 198,000 miles on it. The good part is, the transmission has about 18,000 on it as I just had it built. Truck has a new water pump, new belt, new idler pulley, an aftermarket transmission oil cooler, a new battery, and new 33" tires. First, the bad. The front right tire will need to be replaced as I had either a tie rod end or a ball joint go bad and the tire wore at a diagonal pattern. So it will need one of those as well. Tie rod end is $30 and if it's a ball joint that is $30 as well. Right side valve cover gasket is just starting to leak a little, but its an 02 with 198k on it so that is not bad. The horn has some sort of wire issue, as it works on and off. Probably just a bad ground connection but I don't have the time to mess with it. The truck has no radio in it as of now, but that may change. All wiring is there for one to be hooked up as well as the dash install kit. Wipers only work on medium and high speed, BUT I have an entire new assembly with the motor to go with it.The ABS and brake light are on, due to the previous owner before me cutting the ABS sensor wires up front. Check engine light is on for a small EVAP leak, I have replaced all vacuum lines and gone over every bit of the fuel system and can not fine out where the "Very small" leak is according to the code reader. Will pass NYS inspection as it is a 3/4 ton truck so it only gets a safety inspection, none of the emissions and check engine light garbage. Should still pass with the odd wear of the front right tire as stated above. The good. Transmission was built locally at L&L Transmissions in Batavia NY. New front driveshaft as well. All paperwork is with the truck. This truck is a VERY strong runner. I got a job far away from my house so I had to get a truck with higher mileage. Interior is flawless other than one little tear in the center console cover towards the back. The truck has a 5" stack on it from a glasspack. I have the straight pipe with the tail pipe ready to go with the truck as well that was new last year. I also have a set of 245 tires on 16" rims that I had on this truck before the 33"s. I have the set of power/heated stock mirrors to go with it as well. I put tow mirrors on it last fall. The frame of the truck is very solid with very little surface rust. Limited slip rear end with Dana 60 axles in front and rear. A little bit of play in the steering but nothing too bad. Power windows, power locks. Has typical dodge rocker and fender rust on the front. (See Pics) New front brakes last fall. I am the 3rd owner. First owner was a elderly woman, 2nd was a good buddy of mine. Local Pick up only, payment required within 2-3 days of sale. Thanks for looking, and good luck!

China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians

Tue, Aug 15 2017

NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.

Our video tribute to Star Wars with a Stormtrooper Charger

Fri, Dec 18 2015

When the refreshed Dodge Charger debuted, the white one was immediately compared to a Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet. Chrysler recently ran with that idea and decorated a fleet of cars, including some Chargers, for use in a marketing stunt to hype its wares alongside the no-hype-necessary Episode VII: The Force Awakens film. We got our hands on one for a day and had some fun making a few videos. Above are a few shorts with names that we at least think are funny. There's one that includes the latest example of video producer Chris McGraw's patented nightlapse technology (it's a hyperlapse shot at night, which just looks plain neat). In the clip below, you can see all of the car's various Stormtrooper-inspired details. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The car started out as a bright white Charger R/T Scat Pack and was treated to a partial vinyl wrap on the body and the glass. The fantastic 485-horsepower Hemi V8 was left alone. Watch the videos and then tell us how they're non-canon in the comments. Humor Dodge Videos Original Video star wars dodge charger scat pack

Fiat Chrysler wins top Total Quality Award for first time

Mon, Jul 20 2015

The Strategic Vision Total Quality Awards are 20 years old in 2015, and Chrysler has never topped the awards before. Until now, that is. Fiat Chrysler takes the overall award on the corporate level with six segment leaders from Fiat, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. The Fiat 500 won Small Multi-Function Car, the 500e won Small Alternative Powertrain, the Dodge Challenger tied at the top in the Specialty Coupe category alongside the very un-coupe Mini Cooper Countryman, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited took the Entry SUV category, the Dodge Durango won in Mid-Size SUV, and Ram took the overall in Best Non-Luxury Brand. The accolade means FCA has gone from one segment winner in 2010 to overall victory in five years. Cars have gotten so good, says Strategic Vision, that it is harder than ever to win. In fact, says the group, 18 years ago 85 percent of all vehicle brands had more than half a problem per vehicle. This year, no brand has more than half a problem per vehicle. The organization measures "over 155 specific aspects of the customer's experience," and scores are based on input from more than 46,000 customers. Other notables in and near the winner's circle include Volkswagen and General Motors, who tied for second place on the corporate scale, one point behind FCA. The Mini Cooper Roadster scored the highest of any model, the Corvette Stingray Convertible and Coupe scored the second- and third-highest. The Chevrolet Colorado is the first domestic Standard Pickup winner in more than ten years, and the Nissan Titan carried the Full-Size Pickup category. The press release below has all the details on how winners and losers are selected, and the full list of automakers and how they finished. "The Customer's 'Total' Experience Defines Quality, Fiat Chrysler Scores Highest in Total Quality," says Strategic Vision The 2015 Total Quality Awards® SAN DIEGO, Friday, July 17, 2015 — Unknown to many, when some consumer research firms rank a car company's quality performance they often do so by simply "counting problems." In the past, this may have been acceptable, but in today's modern and efficient manufacturing world the difference between the worst brand and best brand is LESS than half-a-problem per vehicle. Thus, any "quality ranking" based on this method is severely lacking in the complete picture of the "Total" Quality experience that customers actually use to judge their product ownership.
