Hi there,

We are a young couple from Austria (which is in Europe next to Germany and can easily be mixed up with Austraila).
We bought this beatuiful truck camper 18 months ago and we planned to do several trips in the United States in the next few years.
But life always is a box of surprises and our first son was born in November 2012.
Now my wife is pregnant again and we have to sell our Dodge Camper as soon as possible as long-duration flights with two babies are not so easy.

Depending on terrain the truck and trailer combo averaged 13.5mpg in the mountains to a best of 16mpg per tank in the flat lands.
This was a stock truck that lived its entire life in Yuma, AZ and Las Vegas, NV, We own everything outright so might consider trade + cash.

Email is best, reach us at: dodge@stichl.at

Chrysler patents smarter minivan folding seats

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

It's frightening to think of how quickly the mice would have overtaken us if we hadn't stayed one step ahead of them with better mousetraps. We'll never have to worry about that in our relentlessly re-engineered world, though. Case in point: Chrysler has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for an improved design of the already wondrous Stow 'n' Go seating found in the automaker's Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.
Introduced in 2005, the Stow 'n' Go was improved in 2008, and based on the drawings of this third-generation improvement, the new design appears to allow stowage of the second row of seats without having to move the front-row seats forward as much. It look like it also involves fewer operations and moving parts, with a portion of the seatback being incorporated into the flat floor when the seats are stowed, as opposed to having a completely separate cover.
It's possible that the innovation may appear on the next-generation minivans expected in 2015, but Chrysler isn't commenting on the patent.

Junkyard Gem: 1976 Dodge D100, United States Army Edition

Sat, Jan 26 2019

Members of the United States military have been driving Dodge trucks since the Army bought its first Dodge Brothers ambulance in 1917, and plenty of third-generation D-series pickups ended up in Army service during the mid-1970s. Most of these were 3/4-ton W200s and D200s (designated as M880s), but today's Junkyard Gem is a 1/2-ton D100 CARGO PICKUP W/CAB, found in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Eventually, the Army auctions off old vehicles, and that happened to this battered D100 Custom at some point. This truck appears to have started life with Navy gray paint, which was painted over in Army-grade olive drab. Perhaps there was some vehicle-shuffling done by the Pentagon. The most recent layer of stickers shows that this truck's final military job was for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command. Power came from the legendary Chrysler Slant-6, in this case the 225-cubic-inch version rated at 105 horsepower. Like most fleet vehicles of the last 50 or so years, it has an automatic transmission. You couldn't expect every soldier to be able to work a three-pedal truck, not even way back in 1976. The Rust Monster has taken a few bites out of this truck, enough that its resale value converged with the current price of scrap vehicles. This content is hosted by a third party. FCA fibbed on sales according to internal report

Mon, Jul 25 2016

Following last week's news that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly fudging sales figures, a new report in Automotive News says an internal investigation at FCA uncovered misreported sales. According to the AN story, 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles from various FCA brands were reported sold by dealers, but no customers existed for those cars. FCA sales chief Reid Bigland has already put a stop to the practice. One potential reason for the practice was to maintain the company's month-to-month sales increase streak, currently at 75 months. In April, FCA added a lengthy disclaimer to its sales announcements: "FCA US reported vehicle sales represent sales of its vehicles to retail and fleet customers, as well as limited deliveries of vehicles to its officers, directors, employees and retirees. Sales from dealers to customers are reported to FCA US by dealers as sales are made on an ongoing basis through a new vehicle delivery reporting system that then compiles the reported data as of the end of each month. "Sales through dealers do not necessarily correspond to reported revenues, which are based on the sale and delivery of vehicles to the dealers. In certain limited circumstances where sales are made directly by FCA US, such sales are reported through its management reporting system." FCA did not provide comment to Automotive News.
