Up for auction is my 2001 Ram 4x4 off road. I purchased this truck new in 01 from Gary Barbarra Dodge in Philadelphia Pa. This truck was my pride and joy I washed every chance I got I even took the wheels off to wash the hard to reach places. This Ram always got the scheduled oil changes and regular maintenance. Two of my three children came home from the hospital in this truck so it really has sentimental value to me. In 2010 with about 120,000 reverse gave out on me so the transmission got a rebuild, Around that time my father moved in with my family and I gave the truck to him. This past winter my father was driving the truck in a snow storm and lost control and got into a accident. The truck does not have a straight panel and has extensive damage to the front end. The Ram has 143000 miles and the motor still runs strong, with the off road package it has limited slip axle, front and rear with 4:10 ratio, transmission cooler, 17 inch aluminum wheels, heavier suspension, and undercarriage skid plates. It is very painful to let this one go but It is not a project for me. The truck is located in South Eastern Pa directly across from Trenton Nj, near the amusement park Sesame Place in Langhorne Pa. Chrysler extends fuel tank warranties on LX cars, NHTSA ends probe
Tue, 18 Feb 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has ended its investigation of 153,817, 5.7-liter and 6.1-liter Hemi V8-powered 2006 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum models after reports of stalling. Chrysler has responded by granting a lifetime warranty on the fuel tanks for these vehicles.
NHTSA received 299 reports of engines stalling while the models were stopped or driving at low speeds, and began an investigation. The government agency found that the control valve shutoff float in the V8s' 19-gallon fuel tank could malfunction if the fuel had too high of an ethanol content. In many cases, the valve would break in the open position, allowing the tank to be overfilled, which would then cause the cars to stall. However, there were no accidents reported, and the vehicles could be restarted immediately.
There will not be a recall on these vehicles because, "the condition represents a low risk to motor vehicle safety and is adequately addressed by Chrysler's extended warranty," NHTSA said to The Detroit News.
Dodge Demon's A/C helps its supercharged Hemi make more power
Thu, Mar 30 2017Staying cool is one important key to performance. Simply, more air means more power, and cool, dense air is better than hot air. While forced induction might help make copious amounts of horsepower, turbos and superchargers produce heat. Intercoolers help, but the new Dodge Demon and its supercharged Hemi need a bit of an extra boost. In Drag Mode, the Demon's engine commandeers the car's air conditioning system to help chill things out. The Demon will have the first production application of a liquid-to-air charge air cooler chiller system. Literally, the car's air conditioning system is used to cool the air going into the engine, dropping temps by up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Dodge claims the system helps achieve "temperatures previously unattainable by pressure-charged street-legal production vehicles." As cool as this may sound, the technology isn't new. Ford had a prototype system in the early 2000s called SuperCooler, though that system never made it to production. While the Demon's system doesn't have a super cool name like the one from Ford, the pair essentially work in the same way. In theory, it should have the same effect as a bottle of nitrous. According to Autoweek, Ford's system bumped up the output of the F-150 Lightning by about 50 horsepower. Turns out that air conditioning isn't always a huge power suck. Related Video:
