The Dodge M-37 was probably one of the most successful military vehicles in US history other than the Jeep. The M-37 was designed immediately after WWII to compensate for some of the shortcomings that had been revealed in the Dodge 3/4 ton WC series of trucks during the war. The M-37 retained the WC-series 230 cubic inch flat head six-cylinder engine and 4-speed non-synchromesh transmission. But, although the WC series of trucks is similar in many respects to the M-37 series, there were a number of modifications to the basic WC design to make the M-37. Among them was the new process synchronized transmission, new Process 200 2-speed transfer case, and the M-37?s capacity grew to 3/4 ton compared to the 1/2 ton of the WC series. Production of the M37 began in earnest in January 1951, with approximately 11,000 vehicles produced by the end of the year. In total, between 1951 and 1968, 115,000 M37s were produced. Spare parts for these vehicles are widely available and inexpensive to procure. The ’51 M37 you see here was in service right here in Missouri for most of its life. Since then, it’s benefited from an extensive restoration. The majority of the work was completed around 5 years ago and included paint and a complete rebuild of the six cylinder engine. With the exception of the wood under the seats, all of the wood in the truck is original and very solid. The body is in wonderful condition and extremely solid. The body was stripped, sandblasted and painted 5 years ago and is still in wonderful condition. All of the wood in the rear is solid with no rot to be found. The two fold down benches in the rear are a great touch and perfect to haul the family and friends around the farm, in a parade or around the camp ground. There is a canvas soft top included with the truck but we have not fit the snaps on it. Inside, the seats have had new wood installed under them and reupholstered. They are both in great condition with no rips or tears. The gauges are in good working order as are all of the lights and signals. The windshield does fold down like it should and all of the four wheel drive levers and differential levers work as well. Under the hood, the inline six cylinder went though a complete rebuild around 1,500 miles ago. Along with the rebuild, the brakes were all replaced as well as the lines. This is a great driving truck that you should have no worries getting behind the wheel. VIN number is L2455252 and the truck is being sold on a clean title...

GTC deliveries take Rauh collection up to 79 Vipers [w/video]

How many Vipers is enough? One of the ten-cylinder supercars might be too much machine for most drivers to handle, but not for Wayne and D'Ann Rauh. The Texas couple already own 77 of Dodge's flagship model. And now they've taken delivery of two more. At the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit on Friday, the Rauhs received the keys to a pair of Dodge Viper GTCs, customized through the automaker's "1 of 1" customization program. The program allows owners to spec their Viper just the way they want it, with 50 million unique combinations. For their 78th and 79th additions, the Rauhs ordered one decked out in brown with black stripes for Wayne, the other in purple with white for D'Ann, to whom the majority of the collection belongs. Of course, both come equipped with an 8.4-liter V10 driving 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The couple will add the pair to their collection in Arp, TX, a town on the outskirts of Tyler, located between Dallas and Shreveport. The Rauh's garage already includes the last of the previous-generation Vipers decked out in two-tone gold finish. eGarage profiled the couple two years ago when their collection numbered "only" 65, and we have no doubt that number will only continue to grow as long as Dodge keeps building the legendary super-snake. So far, whenever we've seen the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 707-horsepower, supercharged Hellcat V8, the muscle car has been smoking its tires. Dodge is finally proving that the SRT can do more than ruin perfectly good sets of rubber, though. In it's latest video, company CEO Tim Kuniskis hands the Hellcat off to the guys from Gas Monkey Garage to show how quickly the automaker's most powerful model can make it down the drag strip.
Of course, the only fitting contender to race against Dodge's latest top muscle car is its grandpa - a Hemi-powered 1971 Challenger, in this case. Before getting to the main event, the hosts also show off some of the SRT's unique features like the blanks in the grille that feed the intercoolers. We'll go ahead and spoil that the Hellcat makes its pass in the 10-second range, and the video admits the tires on the production version would take just a touch longer to cover the quarter-mile. Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.Â The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14.
