HELLO Hello fellow eBayers. Today I am listing a vehicle that I spent 30 years trying to find. I haven’t done anything with it in two years. I clearly do not have time for the restoration required so I am letting it go. I paid a nice, even $12K for the truck exactly the way it is. My start price is just more than half of that and this will sell to the highest bidder at $7K or over. Please don’t make this hard for me, or I will just keep it. I can promise you that you will be the envy of every man - who is a man - on earth if you own this truck. Of course the limp-wristed sissies and Obamas of the world will scorn you for your "Carbon Footprint", but do you give a sh*t what they think??? Realize that a Prius is just a speedbump for this King of Groundclearance..... Ahh... fantasizing again..... My Camaro gets EIGHT mpg. Take that! INTRO: Up for sale today is my 1942 Dodge WC40 1/2 -ton “Power Wagon”. The term Power Wagon did not yet exist when this truck was made. Only 275 WC40 1/2 -ton shortbed trucks were made in 1942, and then never again. They made thousands of the 3/4 -ton longbed trucks that became the civilian Power Wagon in 1946 so you can get virtually every single part of this truck NOS and/or aftermarket so restoration is not difficult. I AM SELLING/TERMS/TRADES: Before
I further describe the truck, I want to be clear about a few things: THIS IS NOT A DISTRESS SALE. I can afford to keep this truck
indefinitely. Money is NOT a problem for me (trying to get rid of the Vultures and Bottom Feeders –
it never works). I am tight on space but I can rent space pretty cheaply if I
have to. I may be willing to let someone pay me over a short period of time (3
months MAX), no interest, but I own 100% of the truck and paperwork until it is
100% paid for. And you will have to convince me you aren’t going to be a
problem before I will do this. I am going to fully disclose what I
know about this truck, even if it is at my own peril. I am not interested in ANY trades of ANY kind. Sorry, my garage is overflowing already. Anyone who tries to scam me or hurt me will find out what their genitals taste like. Be decent to me and we will get along fine. I am not a kid and I am not an old geezer. I am 47 in July, so right in the middle of my life (I am in terrific health, 94 is when I get off this planet). I have a family and a full time job so please be respectful that my time is limited. I have been buying and selling on eBay for over 15 years with no negative feedback as a buyer or seller so bid with confidence that I am not a crook or a game player. Please bid only what
you can afford to pay and please be sure your spouse or whomever has approved
the purchase. I will require an immediate deposit of $500 at the close of the
auction. If you come to inspect the truck after a deposit and it has been
grossly misrepresented I will refund the deposit. If you can't come up with the
money, change your mind, the dog bid for you, or you have were forced to
bid as part of a sex game (I have heard them all) you will only get half of the
deposit back. Full payment by bank wire transfer, cashier's check drawn on
a real bank, or cash in person is expected within 7 business days unless

WHOLE STORY about the WAGON: Please
READ the WHOLE story and look at all the pictures BEFORE you make an offer…. I
have written an awful lot to prevent a misunderstanding. Please read on if you
are serious… The pictures tell the story well. The previous owner claimed to have done a full mechanical restoration on this truck and it seems to be so. He rebuilt the entire drivetrain and braking system and did a “frame off” and painted the frame. The truck has the original everything so I am told but I am NOT an expert. The body and paint are definitely “farmer quality” and there is some filler in the body but overall I would say it is pretty solid. All of the body mounts and rubbers are new. The 218 cubic inch flathead six can be a hard starter (has a manual choke and I haven't figured out the best sequence/settings yet) but runs very well with no smoke or bad noises and is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission feeding through a single speed transfer case and locking hubs. This thing will go straight up a tree but it will also only go about 55 mph. And your knuckles will be white! The tires are like new. The interior is a mess, the original gages are gone but they are all available NOS from Vintage Power Wagons. There are racing bucket seats in the truck – no I don’t have the original seat. The front fenders have “warts” around the rivets. The body is wavy everywhere, the most major dent is on the right rear fender. The bed had a steel floor welded in it at some point and the metal is thin and perforated from it being cut out. The bed now has Oak household flooring - not the right stuff but it sure is pretty. The front and rear of the bed are reproductions. There is through rust in both running boards – these are available reproduction for $600 for the pair but they are not beyond repair. The rear frame rails have about 3" cut off of them since the truck had a 3-point hitch on it at one time. Think about it, in 1946 you could buy this truck surplus for far less than a tractor.... Many of them became tractors forever! I have no bumpers for it but they were simply 4" channel so you can "make" them in an hour. The frame has some light scale from being stored in a shelter-logic type of shelter. The driver’s side window is out of its track and lying down in the door. The outside door handle on the driver’s side does not work, but did when I got it. The windshield, passenger window, and rear window look good. Has a shorty glasspack exhaust, sounds pretty cool…. The headlights and running lights work but I have seen a flicker from time to time so there is a loose connection (might be the Driver - dumb Jarhead). No turn signals but does have the do-hingus on the steering column but I don't know if it works. The brake lights work. The original steel fuel tank has been replaced with a fuel cell and it is a pain in the ass to fill - it needs a filler neck. The aftermarket gages work. Oil pressure is great, charging is great, runs 180 degrees idling for hours. No power steering or power brakes (come on man!) and an un-synchronized transmission make this the manliest truck ever made. Look at the groundclearance and the short front and rear overhang - It's like a tank on 4 rubber tires! It rides like an empty dumptruck but it is more fun than a busload of naked college girls. Not that I’d really know…. But I can imagine…. Be right back.... Oh and I have a mostly complete and very good to excellent spare nose for the truck that is available AT AN EXTRA COST to the winning bidder or someone else. I also have a couple of nice Jerry cans. And extra smaller (earlier) artillery wheels. AT EXTRA COST. Ask. PAPERWORK: I have the most recent Connecticut registration (2010)
for the truck. It has a bill of sale section at the bottom and an ownership transfer section on the back. This is all the
paperwork I have. No inspections of any kind are required to
register it in CT. Just take the registration stub to DMV and walk out with
plates. Please be sure this paperwork will work with your state. I can send you a scan of this document upon request IF you are a bidder, not a time waster. The state of
CT does not issue titles for vehicles made prior to 1981 so I do not have one
in my name from CT. ALL STATES are
required BY FEDERAL LAW to allow registration of a vehicle without a title from
a non-title state provided there is a registration from that state.
Anyone who tells you differently is WRONG. This is a promise. I will gladly
fill out any paperwork that your state requires. INSPECTION: I do not have time for tire kickers, chat pals or
lookey-loos but I will gladly show anyone the truck BEFORE they bid. I would prefer it if at all possible. Any inspection BEFORE a bid is welcome. I have a JOB, I WORK for a living (I find many, many people don't anymore yet drive new cars and put up new garages???), I have a FAMILY - they all come FIRST. Please understand this or do not call me..... VALUE: This truck is well worth what I am asking – I have
priced it to sell quickly and at a loss to me. Restored this truck is worth
$50-70K and resto-modded like Legacy Power Wagons (legacypowerwagon dot com) does them they go way over
$100K. So please don’t waste my time with lowball offers. Do you think you can
find another one? It took me 30 years as I said before….. COST TO OWN: Classic truck ownership is very cheap.
Here in Connecticut, fixed costs per year are $40 for early American plates;
around $20 for taxes ($500 tax assessment is MANDATORY); and Hagerty Classic
Auto Insurance is around $120 a year for FULL coverage. So for about $200
(about $0.60 a day!) you can enjoy driving the Great Granddaddy of all vintage
4x4 trucks! Classic trucks are a great investment. According to Knight Frank's Wealth Report,
collectible cars were the top-performing collectible asset with prices surging
23-percent in the 12-months ending in the third quarter of 2012, and posting
gains of 395-percent over 10-years. Google it if you don't believe me. FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: The truck is located about 100 miles from New York and New Jersey shipping ports. I would estimate it would cost around $500 to get the truck down there. You will have to handle the broker and pay for everything of course. I seriously doubt there is anyone outside of the USA that would give a **** about this truck but I suppose you never know. Domestic shipping: I recommend Montway for long hauls and Uship for short hauls. If you are on the route between CT and Dallas Texas I have a friend who makes a regular route and he can get the truck to you cheap. His name is Fernando, be sure to roll the R for 1 full second. If you are in the Northeast I will direct you to Walter at C&C Transportation 978-846-8578. Don't roll his R, he will think you are an idiot. This truck is 84 inches tall with the tires aired up, might come down 3 inches with the air down to 10psi. That's roughly how many cars pass through the hands of Autoblog editors every year, from the vehicles we test here at home, to the cars we drive on new product launches, testing roundups, long-term cars, and so on. Of course, our individual numbers vary due to several reasons, but at the end of the day, our team's repertoire of automotive experience is indeed vast. But let's be honest, some cars certainly stand out more than others. So as the year's about to turn, and as we're readying brand-new daily cat calendars for our cubicles, our editors are all taking time to reflect on the machinery that made this year so special, with one simple, open-ended question as the guide – a question that we're asked quite frequently, from friends, family, colleagues, and more. "What's the best car you drove this year?" Lamborghini Huracan When I review the list of everything I drove in 2014, picking an absolute favorite becomes almost impossible. I mean, how does one delineate between the joy offered by cars as different as the Alfa Romeo 4C, Volkswagen Golf R, Mercedes-AMG GT S and even the humble-yet-wonderful Chevy Colorado? Okay fine, I'll just pick the Lamborghini. I drove the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 on a racetrack, in the mountains, and along southern coast of Spain. It felt like the king of the car jungle in all of those places, sucking the eyeballs of observers nearly out of their heads as it drove by, and almost melting my brain with its cocktail of speed and grip and intense communication. It feels a little easy to say that the one new supercar I drove this year was also my favorite, but the fact is that the Huracan is one of the finest cars I've driven during my career, let alone 2014. In terms of what was so good I'd go out and buy one tomorrow, that'd be my all-time sweetheart, the Volkswagen GTI. I'm picking the Rolls-Royce Wraith. I drove the Wraith for a week in April, and was really, really impressed. This car does everything, perfectly.

Thu, Jul 8 2021Stellantis hit us with an absolute deluge of information regarding its future electric vehicle plans Thursday, including a roadmap for each of its brands to reach a goal of making electrified vehicles 80% of the company's total global volume by 2030. We'll hit all of the highlights here, with an emphasis on those that matter most to the U.S. marketplace. Stellantis previews 4 electric platforms: Here's how they'll be used This is the method behind the rest of Thursday's madness. Eventually, Stellantis will migrate its electrified vehicles onto one of these core platforms based around a new common EV powertrain architecture.  Dodge will launch the 'world's first electric muscle car' in 2024 It looks like Dodge will invoke its 60s heritage (peep the illuminated "Fratzog" on the nose) for a new, all-electric muscle car. Based on the STLA Large platform, it's projected to have a 0-to-60 time as low as 2 seconds and a range of up to 500 miles. The automaker also hinted at a maximum power output of as high as 886 horsepower courtesy of a pair of 330-kilowatt electric motors.  Jeep will have 4xe plug-in hybrid models across the lineup by 2025 The iconic 4x4 brand will have a plug-in hybrid variant of every model by 2025. The U.S.-market Compass 4xe is expected to debut this summer, and the Wagoneer 4xe has already been announced. The Grand Cherokee 4xe will be shown at the New York International Auto Show in August.  Fully electric Ram 1500 will begin production in 2024 You didn't think the Ford F-150 Lightning would get the space all to itself, did you? Ram says it will have an electrified Ram 1500 on the market soon. Will it be fast enough to beat GM?  Stellantis teases mystery electric Chrysler concept This one's a genuine puzzler. We've reached out to Chrysler for details, but for now, all we know is that this all-electric concept appears production-friendly and will ostensibly ride on the same STLA Large platform as the Dodge muscle car.  Opel Manta E will be the electric revival of the classic German coupe We'll forgive you if you'd forgotten that Opel was now part of Stellantis, and with new ownership comes new opportunity. The company revived the Manta nameplate as a high-riding coupe/hatchback concept.  Fiat says all Abarth models to be electric from 2024 This likely won't matter much in the U.S. market, where the 500X will soon be the only vehicle it sells, but Fiat's performance division is going all-electric.
Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board
Wed, Apr 3 2019Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.
