BODY: Very solid fenders, hood, cab, doors, and bed, no rust on an of these areas. It will need left inner fender well and radiator support replaced, (typical rust areas on these D Series Dodges) It also appears to have three nickel sized rust spots around the windshield gasket. The truck frame and rocker rails are solid and straight. Bed and the tailgate and fenders are rust free and dent free. It has been repainted from its original Metallic Root Beer Brown to a color similar to Petty Blue color. It looks like it was a very inexpensive "mask tape" and spray job. Needs a good buff because it has sat in the Texas sun and has begun to fade on some of the roof and hood. Other than this it has small crease on the left front fender and few dings here and there but solid nonetheless.
MOTOR: I was told by previous owner the motor was rebuilt less than 3 years ago. he then proceeded to work on it little by little and never drove it other than up and down his street. Replaced the old Carter carb with a Brand new Thermoquad 4bbl. I have personally checked compression on all cylinders and it is tight all around. Cranks and Fires right up with no hesitation, no lifter noise, no knock. Its 318 motor; not the original engine. The truck was originally equipped with a Slant six motor. I have also installed new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, mechanical fuel pump. Also comes with additional eletric fuel pump installed but not connected.
TRANSMISSION: I have also replaced the tranny pan gasket and flushed the transmission. It appears to be T-Flite 727. The truck is NOT driveable. Shifts into reverse but, does not go forward... I ran out of money and cant replace it.
I believe this is great project truck, not common to find.... but the arrival of our baby, the lack of money has led me to sell it, and my lack of space prevents me from continuing to get it driveable. Please email me with any questions as I have described it to the best of my ability.
On Jul-04-13 at 09:21:48 PDT, seller added the following information:UPDATE: 11:15am CST ADDED PICTURES OF THE CAB DRIP RAIL WHERE THERE IS SOME RUST PRESENT. IF YOU REQUIRE MORE PICTURES OF THIS AREA I CAN EMAIL THEM UPON REQUEST. THANK YOU

General Lee Dodge Charger replica jumps Dukes of Hazzard-style in Downtown Detroit
Sun, Feb 26 2017Ouch. That was our first reaction after we saw the video up above, in which stunt driver Raymond Kohn goes full-on Bo and Luke Duke in a specially prepared Dodge Charger right in the middle of Downtown Detroit. The jump looks good – and, courtesy of the whistling-Dixie horn of the Charger, sounds good, too – until you see the landing. Like we said, ouch. The ramp stood just five feet tall, but since the bright orange '69 Charger was traveling around 55 miles per hour when it launched, the car soared 25 feet in the air over a distance of 134 feet. That's pretty impressive. Apparently, the car was modified to take the brunt of the landing forces at impact to help keep Kohn safe (relatively speaking, of course). The stunt was a promotion for the 65th annual Autorama Show, which is taking place this weekend at the Cobo Center in Detroit. Scroll down to watch a video interview with Kohn that was shot right after the stunt, and stick around till the end to see the automotive carnage close up. This content is hosted by a third party. Old Dodge vans are big in Japan
Fri, Sep 23 2016One of the great things about Japan and its car culture is that it plays host to some of the most unusual and unique vehicle trends in the world. Whether it's neon-clad Lamborghinis or luxury sedans with insane negative camber, the country always seems to have something new up its sleeve. One of the most surprising trends is track-ready, full-size Dodge vans called Dajibans, and the video above presents a great look at these absurd machines. This isn't the first time we've covered these racing Dodge vans, but it's a subculture too awesome not to merit a second look. For one thing, just as American fans of Japanese cars here like to use JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) parts on their cars, the owners of these Dodges like to use American parts. Many of the vans feature Little Tree air fresheners inside and even have Spectre air filters on the intakes. Who would've thought there would be a market for Autozone's bread and butter auto accessories? Plus, these vans get some other impressive mods. Notice that some vans that appear to have stock metal bumpers, but they're actually fiberglass replicas in the original shape and given a chrome-like paint job. The video's host, an Australian drift fanatic named Alexi who lives in Japan and runs website called Noriyaro.com, gets some great onboard footage, too. One of the vans he rides along in is powered by a generally stock 318 Dodge V8, and still has the original automatic transmission and column shifter. Impressively, the driver manages to manually shift it without grabbing the wrong gear, and even rev matches the shifts. Alexi explains that the driver can catch neutral in-between gears three and two, so there's a brief moment where he can blip the throttle. There's even more information in the video, and it's all fantastic fun to watch. If you decide you haven't seen enough of Dajibans, you can also check out our previous post on it, which is more polished and provides some history and context to the trend. Rare Dodge Daytona found in barn heads for auction
Tue, Dec 15 2015An American icon is headed to Mecum's Kissimmee, Florida auction next January. Charlie Lyons, owner of a restoration shop focused on old Chrysler products, got a lead on a two-owner 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that had been sitting in a barn in Glenwood, Alabama for decades. Dodge built 560 Charger Daytonas (Canada and US production) to homologate the model for NASCAR racing, and then that car and the successor Plymouth Superbird terrorized NASCAR tracks for 18 months. The production car, however, 18 feet long and considered ugly, wasn't popular at the time, so many were beat up or simply disappeared. Around 385 are thought to exist today. Lyons said the first owner of this car was the town judge, who bought it for his wife. In 1974 the second owner - just 18 years old at the time - bought it for $1,800 so he could drive it to Panama City, Florida, for Spring Break, and had flames painted on the front fenders and the scallops trimmed in white. Otherwise this barn find is complete and stock, with matching numbers throughout, R4 Charger Red paint and a white tail, bucket seats, center console, three-speed TorqueFlite automatic, and 20,553 miles on the 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8. Hot Rod has the long story of how Lyons found the car and convinced the owner to sell for what he jokingly called "a shoebox full of folded money." Hagerty says a concours-worthy model can command $262,000. Mecum's pre-sale estimate for this Charger Daytona is $150,000 to $180,000. That sounds steep, but Mecum did sell another perfectly restored Hemi-powered 1969 Charger Daytona for $900,000 at this year's Kissimmee auction to actor David Spade. Related Video:
