heres a real nice old dodge truck for your consideration.this was restored years ago and then parked in storage.somebody really loved this old dodge,as evidenced by the amount of detail work that was done.this was a body off,nut and bolt restoration.the pictures do not do this justice.it does have a few scuffs and dings here and there from being moved around, but its still a very very nice truck, and you can see yourself in both the black and the red,its still holding up very well.since the owner passed away some time ago,i don't have a lot of specifics, but its clear by looking at it,and the little work ive done on it,everything has been new or rebuilt at some point.i have had it running and there is no noise, smoke, odd noises, anything.it has a bit of a miss, but I can see the carb is varnished and the plug wires are dry and cracked in a couple spots so it could use a little tinkering yet.please understand this is a vehicle that had sat for many years, and I have not had much time to work on it,so don't presume you can hop in it and go!i have not tested the brakes yet,and it does not have the gas tank hooked up,i ran it off a separate tank.you may notice the drivers side front rim is not painted like the others, apparantly the tire blew and that was the spare.i have the painted rim as well as 2 decent tires to go with.the truck has a clear title.with a little more tinkering this can be someones new pride and joy.

NOTE: when picking up this truck,or if you have a shipper,i WILL NOT drive this on.this is to be loaded as an in-op,so no funny business telling the shipper its a running driving vehicle,i will turn them away!sorry for the harsh disclaimer but ive had this waaaayyyy too many times.

NHTSA investigating Ram 1500 models for rear differential failure

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and its Ram brand following a number of reports regarding the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. According to 15 consumer complaints, the trucks' rear differential locked up while in other cases, the driveshaft separated at its connection to the diff.
Nearly half of the reports claim the truck was traveling at or above 50 miles per hour, while two consumers reported that the diff lockup/driveshaft separation sent their pickups into a spin. Most troubling, though, is that consumers reported little to no sound indicating there was a problem with their truck.
We reached out to Ram for additional information, such as how many vehicles may be affected or what equipment might be fitted that could cause the issue. Unfortunately, the company wasn't willing to elaborate on specifics.

What's the deal with Chrysler demanding colleges crush their Vipers? [w/video]

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Students and teachers at a Washington community college are up in arms following an order from Chrysler that it must destroy the pre-production Dodge Viper that was donated to the school's automotive technology program ten years ago.
The Viper in question is said to be the fourth off the production line, based on its VIN, and has had its emissions controls disabled, allowing its ten-cylinder engine to produce 600 horsepower, according to a report from Yahoo! Autos. As one of the first Vipers ever produced, the school's AT instructors claim it could be worth $250,000 in a museum, while a local news report purports that Jay Leno once tried to purchase the car, but the sale was prevented by Chrysler.
As pointed out by our friends at Autobytel, though, there are a lot of things in this story that don't quite add up. Immediately noticeable from the news report embedded below - which shows the car at South Puget Sound Community College - is that the car in question is not a 1992 model. When the Viper went on sale in 1992, it was only available as an RT/10 with a (flimsy) soft top, like the red car shown above. But the car featured in the report from KING5 News (inset image) is clearly a hardtop Viper GTS, which didn't enter production until 1996. And even if, as reported by a local newspaper, the hardtop featured is a prototype, it doesn't explain the lack of another iconic feature of the first Vipers - their distinctive side pipes. This kind of pokes holes in the school's argument that this is the fourth Viper to ever roll down the line. At best, this appears to be a pre-production Viper GTS.

Marchionne on Alfa's US return, Dodge Dart's powertrain weakness and minivan plans

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

As a reporter covering an auto show, the one opportunity you never want to miss is going to the Sergio Marchionne press briefing.
"This undertaking to bring Alfa back is a one-shot deal... We are not going to do this twice."
There just aren't that many real characters left in the auto industry. Marchionne, who sits atop both Chrysler and Fiat, is not only one of the smartest execs in the business, but also the most frank. Herein, a sample of the quotable always-sweatered executive:
