For sale 1987 Dodge W150 4X4 pickup ,slant six motor ,119,000 original miles ,P.S., P.B., AM/FM radio ,4 speed granny low 1st. gear, Dana 44 front rear end , Dana 60 back rear end,original wheels and hub caps. Hankook Dyna Pro M/T 32x11.50x15 tires.Original paint ,98% RUST FREE BODY. The paint is faded on the hood and roof of the truck you can see in pictures. There are two 1/8 holes in the top of the dash see pictures probably where a CB radio mike wes mounted. The truck drives and shifts real nice and runs smooth and quiet, there are no rattles, shakes or shimmying. This is a very tight truck.It does have some small dings and dents, and one larger dent by the fuel door see pictures. The front bumper is a custom bumper from HANSON bumper out of Salinas California. There is a new 12,000 Lb. Bad Land winch. Off road maqazine voted best winch for the money. NEW PARTS : carburator, alternator, plugs,wires,cap,& rotor, door seals,window runs,belt moldings,front brake pads,& calipers, rear E- brake cables, rear brake drums,wheel cyl.,& shoes, rear housing brake lines, new rear bumper, windshield ,new Walker muffler & tail pipe. 2003-04 Dodge Viper recalled for sudden airbag deployment
Fri, 15 Feb 2013As if driving the old Dodge Viper (not the fancy new SRT model) isn't intimidating enough, imagine trying to wrangle that V10 beast and then suddenly having the airbags deploy. Yikes. That's apparently what could happen to some 3,660 Viper models from the 2003 and 2004 model years, and as such, Chrysler has issued a recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the car's airbag control module may fail, causing the bags or seatbelt pre-tensioners to deploy without warning while the vehicle is in operation. That's a dangerous scenario in any car, let alone one offering insane horsepower a near-total paucity of safety nannies should things get squirrely.
Owners will be notified this month about the recall, though a remedy is not expected to be available until later this year. Scroll down for the full NHTSA statement.
Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
