Up for sale is a very nice 1938 Dodge pickup. This truck was built over the winter by Altered Image and it was a ground up build. It is ground down raw metal with 3 coats of semi gloss clear sprayed over top. I have had the truck at quite a few shows this year and have received a few trophies and tons of interest from people and other builders. I have put about 650 miles on the truck since it was finished and it runs and drives really nice for what it is. The truck runs along great at 65-70 mph on the expressway and you can idle in traffic all day and the temp with stay around 180-190 degrees. The truck drives straight down the road and corners very nice.90% of the truck consist of new parts and I have all receipts for the complete build as well as a ton of pictures that will go to the new owner. Just for reference I am 6' tall and roughly 180 pounds and I drive the truck everywhere.
As for the truck here are some of the details. Chassis / Suspension: The frame is built out of 2''x4'' tubing, z'd front and rear, x bracing under the cab and all plated in 1/4'' plate. The frame is very well built. Front axle is a Lucky 7 4'' drop axle, 28-48 spindles, Speedway disc brake conversion, traditional radius arms, all suspension and steering bars consist of 5/8'' heim joints, mono leaf front spring, rear axle is disc brake Ford, coil springs in the rear, 4 linked rear with a J bar. Engine / Trans: The motor is a small block chevy that has been bored .30 over and is now a 355ci. Some parts are pro comp intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Comp Cams .500 lift cam, comp cam lifters, comp cam hardened push rods, meling high volume oil pump, GM crank and rods, Comp cam double roller timing chain, heavy duty flywheel, small GM starter, small distributor, Gilmer belt and pully set, finned aluminum tall valve covers and air cleaner, K&N air filter, 2000 stall convertor, billet trans pan, braided kickdown cable, and tons of little aftermarkets. Interior: The interior is simple but clean with the floor channeled about 5'', sheet metal bomber seats built to fit the cab, 3/4'' steering with all star pull off steering wheel adapter, 14'' Long acre steering wheel, aluminum gauge panel with gauges consisting of volts, temp., oil pressure, and fuel level. Also worked into the panal are you turn signal and high beam indicators. The glove box is a nice storage spot as well and it is 12''wide x 7'' deep x 7'' tall with a cigarette lighter in it to charge your phone or run your gps. There are lap belts and I installed new style latches in the doors so when you shut the door it latches and your not going to fall out. The door handles and window cranks all function and there is door glass in both doors that you can roll up. Other: The fuel cell is 15 gallons, the headers were built to clear the steering. There 1 7/8'' to 3'' collectors with 10'' mufflers and the turn down tips. The rims are 17x7 and I just installed NEW tires the other day that are 235/55R17. These have about 30 miles on them now. The tail lights are early 30's ford and they are tinted as well as the front turn signals. There is just so much going on with the truck that everywhere you look you will notice something. That was the best part of the build and all the little detail. It is very neat and gets tons of attention. This is great to take to shows, Cruises, or just to do a little grocery shopping. I do have the truck for sale locally as well as online. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call at 989-529-5485. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs but I will help in any way I can with a shipper to make it easier. Thanks for looking. |

The Dodge Demon's massive hood scoop sucks air like a jet intake
Thu, Feb 9 2017You know what they say about cars with big hood scoops? They usually hide big blowers. At least that's the case with the Dodge Demon and its 45-inch wide hood scoop, the largest ever fitted to a factory production car. The fifth Demon teaser, "Forced Induction," shows off the increased capacity of the car's air intake and the resurrection of the Air Grabber hood scoop on Dodge's upcoming quarter-mile killer. View 4 Photos As with previous teasers, few details have been given outside of the Subaru-trouncing scoop's dimensions. Dodge says the scoop drops air inlet temperatures by more than 30 degrees. Where the more pedestrian Hellcat only has one air catcher headlight, both inner lights on the Demon are used to feed in air. The hood itself appears to channel air in and to the right into a new airbox that appears to be fitted with a K&N-style filter. Dodge seems intent on preventing any asthma issues with the new car. Standing in front of the car might literally take your breath away. Outside of that, the images don't show any new cryptic messages like previous teasers, or at least none that we can spot. One thing we did notice was that the engine block appears to be painted red, not orange like on the Hellcat. Doing some back and forth comparison also shows that the supercharger appears to be the same size as the current one. Of course, this is all speculative, so if you spot anything, drop a note in the comments. Related Video:
FCA to invest $4.5B for new Detroit plant, expanded production at current facilities
Tue, Feb 26 2019We expected some shifts in manufacturing plans as Fiat Chrysler plans to begin electrifying its Jeep brand, but this news bodes well for Michigan. FCA announced today that it would spend $4.5 billion to expand production in the state, including building a new assembly plant in Detroit and increasing capacity at five other facilities in the state. The plan, which FCA says will create nearly 6,500 new jobs, will help to meet increasing demand for Ram and Jeep products, and to electrify Jeep models. $1.6 billion will be set aside to transform the Mack Avenue Engine Complex into a site to build the next generation of Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as an unspecified, new three-row Jeep model. FCA says this part of the plan will create 3,850 new jobs. FCA is increasing its investment in the Warren Truck plant to $1.5 billion in order to continue building the Ram 1500 Classic, as well as the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, creating 1,400 new jobs. FCA says that the new Ram 1500 Heavy Duty will still be built in Saltillo, Mexico. At FCA's Jefferson North facility, the automaker will invest $900 million to upgrade the plant. This site will continue to build the Dodge Durango, as well help build the next Jeep Grand Cherokee. FCA expects this to create 1,100 new jobs. As Jeep plans to electrify models in its SUV lineup, each of the above plants will produce plug-in hybrid versions of the Jeep models produced there, "with flexibility to build fully battery-electric models in the future," the company said in its announcement. "Three years ago, FCA set a course to grow our profitability based on the strength of the Jeep and Ram brands by realigning our U.S. manufacturing operations," said FCA CEO Mike Manley, referring in part to earlier investments in Illinois, Ohio and Michigan. "Today's announcement represents the next step in that strategy," Manley continued. "It allows Jeep to enter two white space segments that offer significant margin opportunities and will enable new electrified Jeep products, including at least four plug-in hybrid vehicles and the flexibility to produce fully battery-electric vehicles." Other investments include $119 million to move production of the 3.0-, 3.2- and 3.6-liter Pentastar engines from Mack I to the Dundee Engine Plant, and $400 million for increased capacity and 80 new jobs at the Sterling and Warren stamping plants. This comes at a time when FCA's U.S.
Dodge and Jeep recalling 895k SUVs for possibility of headliner fires
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Dodge and Jeep are announcing recalls of a total of 895,000 Durango and Grand Cherokee models worldwide from the 2011 through 2014 model years. There's a possibility that the wiring in the sun visor can short circuit and cause a fire. It specifically affects vehicles built between January 5, 2010, and December 11, 2013, and there are approximately 651,000 of them in the US, 45,700 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico and 175,000 outside of North America.
Screws that fasten the sunvisor to the headliner may pierce wires in the visor, if the part has been removed or serviced, potentially causing a fire risk. If the wires short circuit, they could overheat and potentially combust. The automakers report three injuries caused by this defect, and according to the investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "there may be a total of 52 unique fire incidents."
To fix the problem, Dodge and Jeep will inspect the vehicles for suspect wiring, and all of the models, whether damaged or not, will get a new sun visor spacer with a wire guide to stop the possibility of short circuits. According to the automakers' announcement, "this condition is not present in vehicles which have not had the headliner or vanity mirror serviced." They will notify affected owners, and repairs will begin in August.
