1999 Dodge Neon Sport Coupe With Many New Parts!!! on 2040-cars
Maysville, Kentucky, United States
|
Up for sale is a 1999 Dodge Neon coupe
with the “Sport” trim option. It currently has 133,414 miles on it. It has an
automatic transmission, power windows and door locks, cruise control, and rear
window defroster. I bought this car as a
non-running project and after some tinkering and new parts (battery, fuel pump,
spark plugs, and air filter), I got it running only to discover that it has a
noise in the lower engine, I’m assuming a rod bearing has spun and is knocking. I have a brand new (not rebuilt) DOHC short
block, and complete gasket kit (including a multi-layer steel head gasket), brand
new radiator, and timing belt kit that will be included with the car. The body is in fair condition. There
is no rust that I can see. The paint is faded in some spots and it has a few
small dents and scratches that you would expect on a car of this age and
mileage. The interior is dirty and worn. The inner door panels are missing. They were gone when I bought the car so I’m
assuming that someone took them off while attempting to repair the window
tracts that commonly fail on this body style.
The power sunroof tries to move, but sounds like a gear is
stripped. It is currently in the closed
position. Also, there is no stereo or
speakers. I have tried to describe this Neon the best that I can and please study the pictures carefully. It is an excellent source of parts or could be the beginning of a racecar project and show the “rise burners” what “Mopar Muscle” is. This is an AS-IS sale and there is no warranty whatsoever. I have a “rebuilt” title from the State of Ohio that is filled out to transfer into my name, but I never transferred it because I live in the State of Kentucky, which requires that a vehicle be “road worthy” to be transferred into the state. I’m not sure how to transfer the title to you with my info on it, but if you do, you can do so at your expense. Otherwise a Bill Of Sale will be given to the buyer. There is no shipping available, you come get it. The asking price is well below what I have invested in the car and new parts. The new DOC short block is worth $800 alone. Thanks for looking!

Special Dodge Challengers get Hellcat bits to celebrate Mopar's 80th birthday
Fri, Feb 10 2017This year, Mopar is celebrating its 80th anniversary, and it's doing so in two-tone style with this very limited edition Dodge Challenger. Only 160 of these Challengers will be built, with 80 in each paint scheme. Buyers can choose between either Billet Silver or the slightly painful sounding Contusion Blue, each of which gets a hand-painted Pitch Black top half. These Challengers are based on the existing 392 Shaker package, but come with an array of upgrades and tweaks. In addition to the custom two-tone paint, the shaker scoop and rear spoiler are painted in the same color, rather than the usual matte black. The cars come with 20-inch wheels and hand-painted 392 logos on the fenders. The 392 cu. in., or 6.4-liter if you prefer, engine produces the same 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque as its normal counterpart. This Mopar Challenger will have more access to cold air, though, since it has both the shaker scoop and the headlamp intake from the Challenger Hellcat. At the back, there's also exhaust tips borrowed from the most hellish of Challengers. Or at least the most hellish, so far. View 14 Photos Inside, the changes are more minor. Performance seats are added with embroidered Mopar logos in the backrests. The seats and other trim also feature a silver-colored Tungsten stitching. Naturally, a serial number badge makes an appearance inside, too. Owners will also receive a little box of goodies including a booklet, signed rendering, keychain, additional badge, and a certificate showing the date of manufacture. The overall package is rather attractive, but it isn't cheap. To own one of the few Mopar Challengers, you'll have to fork over $56,885. That's a significant premium over the 392 Scat Pack Shaker, which starts at just $44,890 and makes just as much power. You'll also be able to get a 392 Scat Pack Shaker right away, while the Mopar special edition won't be out until spring. Plus, you may not get it until summer because the hand-painting process takes some time. Of course, for some people, the cost and the wait are worth the exclusivity. Want a new 2017 Viper? You'd better call Gerry Wood Dodge
Thu, Oct 6 2016As unfortunate as the news may be, the Dodge Viper is entering its final year of production. Slow sales and increased safety regulations have finally killed Dodge's big, brutish, and beautiful supercar. It will be missed. According to Motor Authority, those looking to pick up one of the last remaining models will have to travel to Gerry Wood Dodge in Salisbury, North Carolina. The dealer has apparently managed to secure the final allocation of cars for itself. All 135 or so remaining cars will be sold exclusively through Gerry Wood Dodge. While Dodge has already sold out of the limited-edition 2017 models, Gerry Wood Dodge put a team together to research and create their own unofficial limited-edition cars. These will be ordered in specific and unique color and option combinations. Dodge offers more than 8,000 colors for the Viper, so picking out a few unused shades couldn't have been too difficult. While these aren't official, it should provide some bragging rights to owners who manage to secure one of the special cars. Despite the exclusivity and hoarding the final few vehicles, Gerry Wood Dodge doesn't plan to add a dealer markup to the car. They claim to never markup cars over MSRP, which seems good for everyone but them. We won't complain. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Watch a Dodge Viper driver show off his V10 all the way into a wall
Mon, Apr 11 2016Has there ever been a show-off video that doesn't end terribly? This video clip captured with a cellphone shows the driver of a neon green Viper GTS giving a fellow motorist a couple throttle blips to signify his intent – which seems to be to crash the Viper into a concrete wall as quickly as possible. It's not pretty. The mean machine seems to be a second-generation Viper GTS in Stryker Green. To our knowledge, no photos have surfaced of the aftermath, so we wish both the driver and their most-likely bruised ego a speedy recovery. Who knows, maybe the Viper is also salvageable.
