For Sale is my 2000 Dodge Intrepid ES, with about 163,000 miles on it. The car is a daily commuter from Sussex to Bergen County, and I took it to Virginia last summer. I have replaced many parts, either myself, or by my mechanic since I bought the car.
The car has a valid NJ inspection till October 2014!
The car has a 3.2 V6, with an autostick, power steering, brakes, windows, door locks, cruise, tilt, A/C (just charged), AM/FM Cassette CD player. I also have the car wired for Sirius satellite radio, with a docking station. You provide your own Sirius unit.
The following parts have been replaced:
timing belt, water pump, radiator, trans cooler, pads and rotors (front and rear), oil cooling lines, fuel sending switch, filler neck, both front axles, both rear wheel bearings.
I also have had the trans filter and gasket changed, with fluid, frequent oil changes, spark plugs and coil packs changed, pcv valve, air plenum gasket changed, and fuel tank drained and cleaned. Also the tie rod adjusters were replaced as well as a wheel alignment too.
I get on average 22 mpg, and have gotten over 28 on straight highway runs.
I have no reason to keep the two things that will be problematic, if you buy the car; and they aren't even bad, just slightly annoying.
1. The check engine light will come on with a P0442 code. I have replaced the filler neck, and cap, after having the car smoke tested for leaks. The code is an evaporative code, small leak. I own a code reader and clear the code when the light comes on.
2. The car cannot be filled fast with gas. You will have to slow fill it. The pump will click off, most of the time, if you let the attendant squeeze and walk away.
The car can be seen at my house, evenings and weekends, in Highland Lakes, which is in Vernon NJ, or in Paramus after 3:30, when I get out of work. I will not ship.
This is my second time listing the car. The last time, it was successfully purchased, but if I don't receive the $500 deposit after 48 hours; you're out of luck. The last guy went over 60 hours, said he would leave the deposit, and didn't
I am off half the week, so scheduling a test drive or visit; won't be an issue.
Also, if you email me, and want to see it; please actually come and see it.
You will receive the title in person or priority mail after the car is paid in full. You can then drive the car home, with your plates, not mine.

Inner Demon revealed: 840 hp and other jaw-dropping details
Wed, Apr 12 2017After months of teasers, rumors, cryptic messages, and veiled hints, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is finally here, and it's as wonderfully insane as we hoped it would be. Finally we know the facts and figures that Dodge has been hinting at for so long. 840 horsepower. 770 lb-ft of torque. 2.3 seconds to 60 mph. A quarter-mile run of 9.65 @ 140 mph. While pricing hasn't been announced, Dodge is trying to keep it under $100,000. That horsepower figure makes this the most powerful production V8 ever. With those 0-60 and quarter-mile times, it's also NHRA certified as the quickest production car ever. Someone with the means needs to line a Demon up against a Tesla Model S P100D. All that power and all of the Demon's trick launching software and hardware will throw a driver back against their seat with 1.8 Gs. Drivers will be seeing a bit of sky, as the Demon is the first production car to pull a wheelie from a dead stop. Yes, this is all totally and 100 percent street legal. View 48 Photos In order to make all this power, the red-painted supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 has been significantly improved over the Hellcat. It's equipped with a larger 2.7-liter supercharger that turns the boost up to 14.5 psi, redlines at 6,500, and has what Dodge is calling SRT Power Chiller, a system that uses the air conditioning to cool the air coming in through the new Air Grabber hood scoop. In order to keep your engine running time and time again, there is an after-run cooler than cools the supercharger after the car is shut off. The pistons and connecting rods have been strengthened to deal with the higher load. In order to feed enough juice into the engine, the Demon uses dual fuel pumps. We assume that a decent EPA rating wasn't on the top of the engineer's list. Oh, and the Demon can run on 100-octane with the press of a button. With the traditional SRT black and red keys, the Demon actually has three horsepower ratings: 500 with the black key, 808 with the red key, and the full 840 with the red key and 100-octane fuel. Don't worry, even if you have the black key, the Demon will drop the 1/4 mile in 11.59 seconds, still quicker than almost anything around. Most of the rest you already know from the seemingly endless teasers. The Demon wears lightweight wheels with sticky 315/40R18 Nitto drag radials at all four corners.
Junkyard Gem: 1994 Dodge Caravan with manual transmission
Tue, Jul 4 2017The K Platform saved Chrysler from certain doom after the company's 1979 bailout by the federal government, and one of the most successful K-based vehicles was the one that spawned the American minivan craze in 1984: the original Dodge Caravan/Plymouth Voyager. Built all the way through the 1995 model year, these K-Caravans or K-Voyagers could be purchased with a four- or five-speed manual transmission, but just a handful were sold that way. Here's an extraordinarily rare late 5-speed example, spotted in a San Francisco Bay Area wrecking yard. The shifter location is a little awkward, requiring the driver to reach back a bit more than would be the case in, say, a Dodge Shadow (which shared the same powertrain). It's too bad that Chrysler never offered these vans with five-on-the-tree manuals. Even though plenty of Mitsubishi-V6-powered front-wheel-drive Chryslers of the late 1980s and early 1990s were available with manual transmissions (e.g., the Chrysler Laser/Dodge Daytona or the Plymouth Sundance/Dodge Shadow), Chrysler minivan shoppers who wanted a stickshift had to take the four-cylinder engine (either a Chrysler 2.2/2.5 or, in the early years, a Mitsubishi 2.6 Astron). This one has the naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine that went into so many Plymouth Acclaims and Chrysler LeBarons. In 1995, it was rated at 100 horsepower, which made for stately acceleration with a full load of passengers. For the 1989 and 1990 model years, a 150-horse turbocharged Chrysler 2.5 with 5-speed was the high-performance minivan setup... and you should let us know if you find a factory-built one. This is only the second example of a manual-trans-equipped 1990s Chrysler minivan I have found in the junkyard (the first was this '93 Voyager), and both vans were lightly-optioned El Cheapo models with cloth seats and hand-crank windows; the manual transmission was a bit cheaper than the automatic in those days. At least this one has air conditioning. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Dodge Viper production to end after 2017
Tue, Jun 21 2016We can't say we're surprised, but we're still saddened to report that the Dodge Viper will not live on past the 2017 model year. It's had a solid 25-year run, though, and that's worth celebrating. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles does just that for the Viper's final model year, with five special editions (some of which seem less special than others, admittedly): The 1:28 Edition ACR, GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, VoooDoo II Edition ACR, Snakeskin Edition GTC, and Dodge Dealer Edition ACR. Instead of running through what makes each of these 2017 Vipers special, we'll direct your attention to the press release below and the images above. All but the Dodge Dealer Edition commemorate memorable Viper models of the past 25 years, and the GTS-R is probably the pick of the litter with its classic blue-on-white paint scheme. Unless you prefer to err on the side of gaudy, in which case Dodge has you (and your car) covered with Snakeskin Green. If none of these special-edition Viper models strikes your fancy but you'd still like to park a 2017 Viper in your garage, fret not. Dodge is still offering its "1 of 1" customization program for the Viper's final year of production. Finally, instead of dwelling on the past, even when that past is as exciting as the Viper's, let's choose to look to the future with the only logical question left unanswered: What's next?
