1997 Dodge Caravan SE (pictures 1-6) $7,900. Has 100,838 miles and an AutoCheck report (like CarFax only more thorough) in hand that shows a clean title with no accidents. Equipped with a 3.3 liter V6 (17mpg city 23mpg highway), automatic transmission, power steering, tilt, A/C, power windows, power locks, cruise, am/fm tape & CD, dual air bags, 5 passenger seating, second sliding door, roof rack, privacy glass, and steel wheels.
The conversion is an IMS brand conversion with a manual ramp and door, which will not require costly repairs down the road like a power door/ramp would. The floor is lowered 10" making the entry in the passenger side sliding door 53" high, inside the van is 58", the ramp is 30" wide, and has a 600lb. weight capacity.
Mechanically everything on this van works as it should. Cold A/C, no funny noises, no major leaks, and overall very solid. The interior is clean and odor free. The seats and dash are in very good shape, with a few small stains in the carpet. The body is straight and still looks good.
The conversion is the Braun Entervan MANUAL RAMP & DOOR conversion which will never break down or need costly repairs like the electric/automatic door and ramp conversions. This manual setup is great for a business, nursing facility, or for transporting a loved one. Lifting the ramp off the ground is easier than picking up a gallon of milk so it is not heavy. The conversion is a 10" dropped floor allowing 55" of headroom when entering the vehicle, 57.5" of headroom inside the vehicle, 30" wide ramp, and 600lb. weight capacity. Both front seats are easily removable to transport a wheelchair/powerchair up front or to transport more than one at a time. Also equipped with the tie-downs, seat belts, along with a rare feature in a folding middle bench seat (see pics) which will allow 7 passenger seating, or you could remove the front passenger seat and place the wheelchair/powerchair in that spot and still have 6 more seats.
The body on this van is clean and rust free, it was used in southwest Oklahoma all it's life as the AutoCheck will show. The interior is very clean and odor free. Mechanically this van runs good, drives good, no funny noises, no check engine lights on etc, good tires, and overall very solid. We just replace the oxygen sensor and this van is in good shape!
Coming Soon 1997 Dodge Caravan SE (pictures 19-24) $12,900. Comes with a clean title (NOT salvaged or rebuilt), the Autocheck report I have in hand states no accidents, and the van has only 43,905 miles on it. Equipped with the VMI conversion with a 10" dropped floor (which allows 56" of headroom inside the van and 53" on the passenger side power door), power ramp (600 lb weight capacity), power door, removable front seats, tie-downs, and the EZ lock system which allows a wheelchair or powerchair to be anchored down anywhere in the van including where the driver's seat would go (if you remove the driver's seat) which would allow a person in a powerchair to enter the van using the keyless entry then drive to the steering wheel, lock in, and drive without ever having to leave the powerchair.
Mechanically the van is in very good shape. I drove it back from over 200 miles away and it drove great. LOTS of repairs made (see list below) to ensure this van is in great shape and ready to go.Tires are good, everything works as it should. The interior and body are in very good condition with very little signs of wear and overall looks great.
Would make a great vehicle to transport a loved one or is also one of the few vans set up to actually allow a handicap individual to drive the van themselves.
Here is the list of mechanic work I've had done to ensure this van is in great shape and ready to go:
-07/05 New keyless entry battery $6.27
-07/15 New clockspring in the steering wheel done free as part of a Dodge recall.
-07/23 New rear shocks and cruise control repaired. $207.84
-07/23 Repair parking brake. $37.50
-07/25 Front end alignment. $36.50
-08/23 Replaced rear air bags in suspension, regulator, and fix small leaks. $757.36
-09/03 New muffler installed. $106.21

1970 Hemi Challenger is a family heirloom with serious muscle
Wed, Dec 30 2015Petrolicious turns up the emotion in its latest video about a family's connection to their 1970 Dodge Challenger. The orange muscle car that gets the spotlight here is a remarkably beautiful vehicle, but the story of a father and his sons at the core of this clip might leave you feeling a little misty eyed. Juan Escalante is the current owner of this Challenger, but it belonged to his dad first. Juan's father spotted the iconic muscle car during the 1969 Detroit Auto Show and had to have one. He soon placed an order for the orange '70 Challenger R/T with the rare combination for that year of a 426 Hemi V8 and a four-speed manual gearbox. The family even brought the coupe with them when they moved to Venezuela in 1972, and local fans dubbed it El Hemi. However, parts were scarce for the muscle car in that country, and it returned to the US in 1996 for a restoration. Now, the rumbling Challenger with its Coke-bottle profile and black hood is the world's most awesome family heirloom for the Escalantes. In this poignant video, Petrolicious shows how the coupe connects Juan to his father. Related Video:
We're pretty sure the Challenger SRT Demon won't have 1,121 horsepower, but what if?
Fri, Feb 3 2017Dodge's slow rollout of the upcoming Demon continues, and with it comes endless speculation about what it all means. Every video, every image, and every press release contains some clue that points towards the Demon's final specs. We don't think any of it is random or arbitrary. This week cryptic image, a small plate with a name and two numbers, shows us a little more than last week's license plate. Unfortunately, Dodge will neither confirm or deny anything, meaning we have no way of knowing which rabbit hole to go down. Don't expect to see official horsepower, a quarter-mile time, or an MSRP until the New York Auto Show. The plate is attached to the crate of goodies that comes along with every Dodge Demon. This particular one is labeled with three things: Tom Coddington, serial number 0757, and VIN 001121. The name is simple enough. According to Hot Rod, Coddington was one of the original Ramchargers, a group of engineers in the early 1960s that helped Dodge get involved in drag racing. He was a fuel system specialist, motor consultant, and a rotating garage manager. All of that could be clues. While a name is easy enough to Google, the two numbers can't be broken down so easily. The crazier theory is that the car makes 1,121 horsepower and will do the quarter-mile in 7.57 seconds. Frankly, those numbers are about as likely as the Demon actually being powered by a Rolls-Royce turbofan engine from a Boeing 757 or packing a carburetor with 1,121 CFM. The Demon is going to be street legal, and the costs associated with making a 1,121-hp car meet emissions standards alone are assuredly astronomical. As our friends from Road & Track pointed out, the more likely theory is that 757 is actually the horsepower rating. This seems totally plausible, but it means we still don't know what 1,121 means. Surely it's not a drag strip time, as the standard Hellcat will do 1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds. Like before, if you have any ideas, post them in the comments. Until April, we'll keep trying to solve Dodge's demonic puzzle. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Dodge Viper to out-Hell the Hellcat with supercharged V10?
Wed, 20 Aug 2014The Viper wouldn't be the Viper if it wasn't the most powerful model under the Chrysler umbrella. But with the arrival of the Hellcat engine in the Dodge Charger and Challenger, the Viper has fallen behind in the bragging rights department: where the new supercharged V8 produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated V10 offers "only" 640 hp and 600 lb-ft - gargantuan output figures by almost any other standard, but crucially behind on the SRT power scale. Conner Avenue is going to have to do something about that.
Although the Hellcat's engine reportedly won't fit under the Viper's hood, SRT is now rumored to have another trick up its sleeve: supercharge the existing V10. According to the Pentastar performance enthusiasts at allpar.com, Chrysler has already taken delivery of the first such prototype engines so that it can begin the process of fitting it into an upgraded Viper.
The spooled ten-pot is tipped to produce around 800 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. More than that and the Viper's drivetrain, chassis and bodywork would have to be substantially reworked. Though beefier transmissions are available, fitting them would reportedly set off a domino-game of changes required to handle the added torque. Which may be something Chrysler would be prepared to do for the next-generation model, but in the meantime, 800 hp could prove enough to put the Viper back atop the Mopar performance ladder where it belongs, and give it an edge against the new Corvette Z06 to rekindle sales.
