I liked it because its got cloth seats instead of the pleather seats they sometimes use. The cloth seats are way more comfortable and way more durable than the "fancy" seats they put in the limited models. Never hot in the summer, never cold in the winter, and no rips, tears, burns or anything else. The interior is as good as the exterior. My son loves the Durango because he says its so clearly made for a man to drive. My wife doesn't like it for the same reason.
Anyway, its in PERFECT condition, and looks like its brand new. It doesn't even have brake dust baked in to the front alloys. It literally looks like a 5 year old brand-new car with 67,000 miles on it. It has the AM/FM, CD player with Sirius Satellite built in (works great, yes, I am a subscriber). The thing has bluetooth built-in from the factory too, but the proprietary "UConnect" system Chrysler installs in its vehicles is not as good as some of the other systems, so I had a Parrot 9100 installed in addition. The Parrot is the gold standard for bluetooth systems, so it made sense to add it to the car since it has streaming technology built in and the factory bluetooth only works with the phone. It has bucket seats up front, a triple folding seat in the middle row and a fold-down third row as well. Seats 7 comfortably, and 8 is fine too, though three in the back row gets a little tight.
The thing runs and drives great, has buckets of power when necessary, and is completely utilitarian. The tires and brakes are like new, and it has a nice Draw-Tight hitch system installed. With 355 horses running, it can pull a house if you want it to. It does not have a sunroof. That's another reason why I liked the car. I hate sunroofs.
Unfortunately, because my wife doesn't like the car, I've got to sell it because I just can't afford to keep both the Durango and my other car at the same time, and my other car has a very strong emotional tie to it.
There's not a whole lot of room in the price though, so don't bother making low offers. I need to get very close to what I'm asking because that's what I still owe on the car. The good news is, the price I'm asking is well under retail anyway, so you won't find another '08 HEMI with low miles any cheaper, and absolutely not in the kind of fantastic condition my car is in. And oh by the way, its also got an extended warranty on it, which I think is able to be assigned to a new owner. I think its got about 4 more years on the warranty!

Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.
2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad
Thu, 17 Jul 2014Watchers of the auto industry will notice a theme among the formerly bankrupted American automakers, General Motors and Chrysler. There are the post-bankruptcy vehicles, and the pre-bankruptcy vehicles. The former, in the case of Chrysler, include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the 200 and 300. For GM, there's the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Impala and Buick Encore, among others. These vehicles have the freshest styling, with sharp exteriors and well-crafted interiors, as well as advanced powertrains and well-sorted chassis.
As for the pre-bankruptcy vehicles, they tend to be easy to spot. Most suffer from inferior driving dynamics, cheaper interiors, poorer fuel economy and often homely looks (we know, there were some decent cars before the bankruptcy, but they were pretty heavily outweighed by the bad ones). Think late, last-generation Chevrolet Impala or Chrysler 200. Increasingly, though, we're seeing vehicles that split the balance between pre- and post-bankruptcy. Vehicles like the Dodge Journey.
The Journey debuted in 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle, meaning it should fall into the latter category. But heavily breathed upon in 2011, it now enjoys a new, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a big, critically acclaimed touchscreen display and in the case of today's tester, a new-for-2014 Crossroad spec.
Mopar maneuvers into SEMA with a multitude of modified models
Wed, 05 Nov 2014As the aftermarket and performance arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Mopar has a duty to extract everything from the company's models that it can, and there's no better place to show all of its work off than the annual SEMA Show.
Dodge really gets in on the act this year with several customs to show off different parts of the brand's performance heritage. Perhaps the most interesting among them is the track-prepped Viper ACR Concept (pictured above). It wears a custom body kit to produce even more downforce, thanks in no small part to a monstrous wing at the back. To shed weight, most of the interior is stripped out, as well. Next up, the Challenger T/A Concept takes inspiration from '70s Trans-Am racing in a livery of Sublime Green and matte black paint. The center scoop in the hood keeps the 6.4-liter V8 fed with cool air, and the special's 20-by-9.5-inch matte black wheels keep it planted in the corners.
Also getting the once-over from Mopar is the Charger R/T. It wears the division's body kit, and under the hood, a cold-air intake keeps the 5.7-liter V8 breathing. The suspension is retooled to hold the road better with a coil-over kit, upgraded sway bars and strut tower braces for the front and rear. The company is also showing off a snazzy blue Charger with a mean look. The final Dodge getting work from Mopar is the Dart R/T Concept with bright, O-So-Orange paint and a matte black hood with a scoop hooked directly to the air intake. The performance-oriented design is finished off with a coil-over suspension and big brake kit, as well.
