1970 Dodge Dart Swinger Originally 340 4 Speed H-code Car Classic Mopar on 2040-cars
Taunton, Massachusetts, United States

Up for sale is this 1970 "low millage" H-Code Dodge Dart . It originally came with a 340 4 speed but a 360 727 automatic was just installed the spring of 2013 . It still retains the original 4 speed pedal's , hump , and column so if someone wanted to go back to a four speed it could be very easily done . It even still has the original reverse indicator light on the dash that came factory on the 4 speed cars . It also still has the original 8 3/4 rear with 3:55 gear ratio , 4 piston disc brakes , rally wheels , rally dash , etc. . I "do not" have the original 340 motor or four speed trans , I never did . I have owned this car since the late 80's early 90's and it was put in storage in 2001 . After a lot of work was done last year It was then registered last Aug ( 2013 ) and driven and enjoyed until Oct when it was put away again for the winter . It was brought back out again this past spring and is currently registered and being enjoyed again . This car runs and drives great ! It gets "LOTS" of attention and compliments where ever it go's . I don't even have to pull it out of my garage for people to stop and want to look at it . The 360 has a "mild" roller cam that idles nice and is pretty darn quick but it is not a race car the way it is , It's perfect to take to car shows and cruise nights . But if you did want a race car then all you would have to do is put a bigger cam in it because everything else is there . There is way to much put into this car last year alone to list , so here is just some of what's been done, new Viper Blue paint , 360 roller cam motor with eddy intake and 4 bbl. carb , Headers , fresh 727 transmission , Gas Tank and sending unit , New rug , sound system , etc. , etc , etc . This car is extremely NICE now but there a just a couple of small and inexpensive things to get it to the next level such as the headliner is showing it's age and inside the trunk still has the original B5 blue paint that you could spray with trunk coating to make it look nicer . It has a race style lightweight glass six pack hood on it now that we put on in the early 90's but I also still have the original steel duel scoop hood from this car but it was not painted with the car and is not included in the price . But could be available to go with the car for an added cost . I'm not sure what else I can say about this car so if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask . I have described this car to the best of my ability and this car is being sold "as is" with no warranty and the buyer is responsible for all shipping cost and arrangements . Buyer has seven days from end of auction to have car picked up . Deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours of auction ending and full payment is required within three days of auction ending .

Experience the Woodward Dream Cruise in a Dodge Challenger Hellcat
Thu, Aug 20 2015While Autoblog was consumed by coverage of the increasingly important Monterey Car Week last weekend, there was another big even going on. The Woodward Dream Cruise is significantly lighter in terms of news, but there's no denying that it's a far bigger, and far more egalitarian than what the wine-and-cheese crowd experience on the links at Pebble Beach. The Dream Cruise crams tens of thousands of cars and over a million spectators along a four-lane ribbon of asphalt between Ferndale and Pontiac, MI. What's remarkable aren't these numbers, though, so much as the distances they travel. Owners and admirers come from far and wide, across the United States and in some cases across the globe, to take in the spectacle. This year, local radio and television coverage featured fans that traveled from Japan, Australia, and Europe, just to take in the cruise. Of course, we realize that not everyone can make the pilgrimage to Woodward Avenue. With that fact in mind, we decided to bring a bit of the Dream Cruise to Autoblog with a time-lapse video of the cruise route. You can experience the good (a Lamborghini Gallardo, Chevrolet Chevelle, and Oldsmobile Cutlass 442), the bad (the traffic jams), and the ugly (no, your 2003 Ford Focus does not qualify as a classic, get the hell out of the cruiser lanes). So join us, as we turn off 8 Mile Road behind the wheel of our 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and run north, through Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak, Huntington Woods, Berkley, Bloomfield Township, and Bloomfield Hills, before ending up on Wide Track Drive in Pontiac.
Dodge Challenger returns to Trans Am
Fri, 15 Aug 2014NASCAR's Nationwide Series may have switched (in appearance anyway) to muscle cars, but American racing fans know that if they want to see real muscle cars on the street circuits, the only place to look is Trans Am. The all-American racing series is packed with Mustangs, Camaros and even Corvettes. The one thing it's been missing is the Dodge Challenger, but now SRT Motorsports has announced it's bringing its muscle car back where it belongs.
Rather than waiting until next year, the Miller Racing team is switching mid-season to the new Dodge Challenger SRT Trans Am racer you see here, just in time for this weekend's race at Mid-Ohio. And not just that - it's lined up a compelling pair of drivers to pilot it, as well.
The No. 11 car will be driven by Trans Am legend Tommy Kendall, a four-time series champion who's been off the grid since 2004. Backing him up in the No. 1 Challenger will be none other than Cameron Lawrence, the driver who has won five out of six races in the Chevy Camaro so far this season, losing out only once to American racing scion Adam Andretti.
2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad
Thu, 17 Jul 2014Watchers of the auto industry will notice a theme among the formerly bankrupted American automakers, General Motors and Chrysler. There are the post-bankruptcy vehicles, and the pre-bankruptcy vehicles. The former, in the case of Chrysler, include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the 200 and 300. For GM, there's the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Impala and Buick Encore, among others. These vehicles have the freshest styling, with sharp exteriors and well-crafted interiors, as well as advanced powertrains and well-sorted chassis.
As for the pre-bankruptcy vehicles, they tend to be easy to spot. Most suffer from inferior driving dynamics, cheaper interiors, poorer fuel economy and often homely looks (we know, there were some decent cars before the bankruptcy, but they were pretty heavily outweighed by the bad ones). Think late, last-generation Chevrolet Impala or Chrysler 200. Increasingly, though, we're seeing vehicles that split the balance between pre- and post-bankruptcy. Vehicles like the Dodge Journey.
The Journey debuted in 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle, meaning it should fall into the latter category. But heavily breathed upon in 2011, it now enjoys a new, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a big, critically acclaimed touchscreen display and in the case of today's tester, a new-for-2014 Crossroad spec.
