1969 DODGE DART G.T.S. TRIBUTE- 340/375 H.P. - HURST 4 SPEED.

THIS CAR WAS A SOUTHERN CAR ALL IT'S LIFE-PURCHASED FROM A GENTLEMAN WHO SERVED IN MILITARY AND  THE CAR WAS IN A BARN IN STORAGE FOR 10 YEARS.

HAVING NOT USED THE CAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS, HE PUT IT UP FOR SALE.THE PREVIOUS OWNER WHO OWNED A 1969 G.T.S. THAT WAS IN NEED OF A NEW BODY-BECAUSE OF THE NORTHERN ROADS- PURCHASED THE CAR. HIS ORIGINAL G.T.S. WAS IN MAINE ALL IT'S LIFE AND WAS RUSTING AWAY. SO THE PROCESS STARTED OF TAKING ALL THE PARTS OFF HIS CAR AND REBUILDING A TOTALLY RUST FREE G.T.S. TRIBUTE. EVERY ITEM-BRAKES MOTOR TRANSMISSION-SUSPENSION ETC WAS PAIN STAKINGLY BROUGHT OVER TO THE NEW DART.THE FRONT END IS ALSO BRAND NEW-4,000 MILES.

BORN WITH A 6 CYLINDER AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION- HAVING BEEN FROM THE SOUTH ALL IT'S LIFE - THE BODY IS AS CLEAN AS THEY GET. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS AS IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY, A VERY UNMOLESTED BODY-NO RUST OR ANY PATCHES ON THE FLOOR OR TRUNK - THE PERFECT BUILDING PLATFORM.
THE MOTOR WAS THE 1969 340 GTS MOTOR- WHILE OUT HE HAD REBUILT-  BORED 30 OVER WARMED WITH A NICE MILD CAM, HEADERS TO ALLOW IT TO BREATH CORRECTLY
AND DUAL FLOWMASTERS FINISHED WITH CORRECT MOPAR TIPS.
THE TRANSMISSION IS A 4 SPEED HURST SHIFTER AND REAR END HAS 391 GEARS.
I JUST REPLACED THE REAL PINION SEAL AND ALSO CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER.
CAR SHIFTS SMOOTH AND EASY UP AN DOWN THE GEARS- NO GRINDING ALL SCYNCROs WORK FINE.
MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION HAVE APPROXIMATELY 4 k MILES ON THEM AND YOU CAN TELL.
RIMS ARE THE FACTORY STYLE AND THE TIRES ARE BF GOODRICH T/A RADIALS.
THE CAR IS LASER STRAIGHT AND WAS JUST PAINTED 3 WEEKS AGO- GTS STRIPE COMPLETED THIS WEEK TO GIVE THE FINAL TOUCH.
ALL CHROME IS GOOD- BUMPERS COULD USE TO BE RE-CHROMED-BUT ARE ORIGINAL AND WORTH MORE MONEY AS IS THAN ANY AFTERMARKETS YOU CAN GET TODAY.
THE INTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE - NO RIPS OR TARES- HEADLINER IS ALSO LIKE NEW.CARPET LOOKS GOOD.
AFTERMARKET STEREO- SOUNDS VERY GOOD.

2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the Demon spawn

Thu, Jun 28 2018

The Demon has passed from us, but the Demon's spawn are here, so please allow them to introduce themselves. A new demi-Demon trim level has been anointed as the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Plus there's an updated Challenger SRT Hellcat and new Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody. Like with the Charger introduced this morning, they have inherited some of the best parts from the Demon. The Hellcat Redeye is possessed by the Demon's howling supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi, making 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque. Dodge proclaims it the "most powerful production V8" and "quickest production muscle car," with a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and quarter-mile time of 10.8 seconds at 131 mph. Top speed: 203 mph. Dodge can claim these superlatives, of course, because the 840-horsepower Demon's limited production run has ended. The Hellcat Redeye's Hemi is paired with an eight-speed automatic. Dodge says the powerplant gets 25 major component upgrades, including a larger supercharger (2.7 liters, up from 2.4) with higher boost pressure (14.5 psi, up from 11.6), strengthened connecting rods, pistons and valve train, high-capacity fuel injection system and improved lubrication. It gets a second fuel pump and a higher redline of 6,500 rpm. Theoretically, if you were someplace where you could operate at full throttle without letting up, Dodge says the Hemi would drain the fuel tank in under 11 minutes. Yet the car gets a 22 mpg highway rating from the EPA. View 30 Photos It also has the Torque Reserve system that starts building boost before launching, as well as the air conditioned intercooler to provide extra cool intake air. Both of these were features in the Demon. Furthermore, if the standard 2.62:1 final ratio isn't quick enough for you, Dodge offers a 3.09:1 rear axle. The Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye also comes with the Demon and Hellcat Widebody's fat fender flares. It's an unsurprising inclusion, since you'll want as much tire as possible for all that power. Now, a mere clear-eyed Challenger SRT Hellcat gets a 10-horse boost for 2019 to 717 horsepower, and a smidge more torque at 656 pound feet. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and an eight-speed automatic is an option. Both Hellcat models get the new dual-snorkel hood we've seen in spy shots. It's meant to evoke 1970s Dodge muscle cars. Dodge says the airflow from the hood alone reduces engine temperature by 4 degrees Fahrenheit.

2023 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study shows there's less quality than last year

Thu, Jun 22 2023

Vehicle inventory, vehicle pricing, and the supply chain are finally showing improvement. Vehicle quality, on the other hand, is still going the wrong way. That's the takeaway from the 2023 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study that found overall problems exceeded last year's record high. The study surveyed owners of 2022-model-year vehicles to assess the average rate of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first 90 days of ownership. The average figure for the 32 ranked manufacturers in 2020 was about 166 problems per 100 vehicles. In the 2021 IQS, that dropped to an average of 162. For 2022, the average jumped to 180 problems. For 2023, the PP100 is up to an industry average of 192 — an increase of 30 problems per 100 vehicles in just two years. Let's get to the good news first: Dodge reclaimed the crown of having the lowest number of problems per 100 vehicles at 140. Buick won last year with 139 PP100, falling to third this year. Dodge was the first American automaker to top the IQS in 2021. Its return as the least problematic gives parent company Stellantis three wins in four years after Ram was crowned in 2021. It also gives U.S. brands a four-peat after Buick topped the chart in 2022 by having owners report the fewest problems. This year's top 10 is Dodge, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Porsche, Cadillac, Kia, and Lexus. Stellantis gathered a few feathers for its cap, in fact. Maserati showed the largest improvement year-on-year, followed by Alfa Romeo, and Alfa Romeo posted the lowest PP100 among the premium class, beating Porsche and Cadillac. Alfa Romeo has been vocal about working to improve quality, mentioning Lexus as a target. Last year the Japanese brand finished sixth, the Italians finished near the bottom, between Jaguar and Mitsubishi. This year Alfa jumped to third, Lexus dropped to tenth. Ram was the third-best on the list of improvers from 2022 to 2023.   The individual model with the lowest PP100 is the Nissan Maxima. Now for the troublesome bits. In the words of Frank Hanley, senior director of auto benchmarking at J.D. Power, "The industry is at a major crossroad and the path each manufacturer chooses is paramount for its future.

Legacy Classic Power Wagon First Drive

Wed, Oct 7 2015

Shortly before the US entered World War II, Dodge supplied the military with a line of pickups internally codenamed WC, those letters designating the year 1941 and the half-ton payload rating. From 1941 to 1945 Dodge built more than a quarter million of them, and even though "WC" came to refer to the Weapons Carrier body style, the WC range served in 38 different configurations from pickup trucks to ambulances to six-wheeled personnel and weapons haulers. The story is that soldiers returning from active duty badgered Dodge for a civilian version of that indefatigable warhorse, so Dodge responded with the Power Wagon in 1946. Even for those no-nonsense times the truck was so austere that the first three names Dodge gave it were "Farm Utility Truck," "WDX General Purpose Truck," and "General Purpose, One Ton Truck." "Power Wagon" was the fourth choice, not finalized until just before it went on sale. Nothing like today's Power Wagon, the original could be seen as either a glorified tractor or a slightly less uncouth military vehicle – hell-for-leather meant going 50 miles per hour. But it would go nearly anywhere. The civilian version was still built like it had to survive, well, a world war; power take-offs (PTOs) ran all manner of ancillaries; multiplicative gear ratios helped it produce enough torque to make an earthquake envious. Said to be the first civilian 4x4 truck made in America, any organization that needed a simple, sturdy mechanized draught animal knew it needed a Power Wagon. If history, the aura of war, and ruthless functionality attract you but mean comforts and 70-year-old manners don't, then you need to get in touch with Legacy Classic Trucks. If that history, the aura of war, and the ruthless functionality attract you but the mean comforts and 70-year-old manners don't, then you need to get in touch with Legacy Classic Trucks. The Jackson Hole, WY, restorer retains every ounce of the Power Wagon's orchard-work aptitude, decorated with present-day amenities and the best components. Each job starts with having to find a usable donor. The city of Breckenridge, CO, bought the red truck in our gallery in 1947 and used it as a snowplow for the next 30 years. In 1977 a log-home builder bought it from the city and used it for another decade as a company hauler. That's the kind of grueling longevity that lets Ram put a five-figure premium on the 2500 Power Wagon pickup it sells today. Legacy Classics founder Winslow S.
