The build for this car involved a complete tear down to shell, all chassis modifications, frame connectors, as well as the correct suspension incorporating factory S/S springs and torsion bars, with all components replaced or rebuilt using urethane bushings. A rebuilt steering box with 20:1 ratio, and wilwood disc brakes finishes off the front end. Out back, the legendary Dana 60 resides with a Trac Loc clutch style posi driving 4:10 gears, and 11” drum brakes. Strange SS/T axles deliver the torque to period correct 10” Cragar super sport wheels.
Drivetrain consists of a you know what with 426 cu.in. and all the correct visual parts for this engine. Forged crank, H beam rods, forged pistons, aluminum heads with stainless steel valves, and a solid roller cam with roller rocker arms assure that this is a quality piece that will take anything you dish out. A correct factory magnesium crossram with Holley 4235 and 4236 carbs to develop an easy 575 hp @6300 rpm. All of this is accomplished with a 10.5:1 compression for trouble free driving on pump premium. This is a car that starts easily when cold, and will idle all day long without loading up. A TRUE daily driver except for the fuel mileage. This engine also has the correct wide, deep groove pulleys from the 1 ton factory trucks, that were used by the factory. It also has the correct factory motor mounts. A 727 torqueflite with reverse manual valve body, modified with heavy bands and clutches, and a 3500 stall 10” convertor is installed for effortless driving.
The body if finished in gorgeous red, with correct fiberglass fenders and hood. Fit and finish is excellent! A correct side mirror delete plate is carried by the drivers door, as well as lexan side windows that function with a strap just like the originals. The 1/4 glass is fixed, just like on the original cars. A correct interior is installed with A-100 seats and aluminum seat brackets. Correct Dart 270 side panels are used, with the dash carrying original gauges that have been restored. A correct radio/heater delete panel is found just like in the factory cars. A huge super stock battery is installed in the trunk with correct hold down and terminal ends on the cables. The underside is finished out just as nice as the exterior with a satin black finish.
If you are looking for a trouble free ultimate street cruiser, THIS IS IT!

A look at the Dodge Demon's drag settings, modes, and go-fast tech
Thu, Mar 9 2017In the same video that gave us a peek at the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon's performance stats, there's a serious dump of info on the tech and tools that will likely help this muscle coupe slaughter drag strips. Dodge has outlined a few of them for us and we're using the power of inference to figure out the rest. Here's what we've gathered. A lot of these hints come from the Demon's version of Performance Pages, the infotainment screens that show what SRT models are doing and let the driver change the powertrain and chassis setup. There are a lot of Demon-only features, including line lock, a quick cooldown mode for the supercharged engine, and data recording. And of course there are pages to show a digital time slip with acceleration and braking figures, a g-load plot, and lots of gauges to track temps and levels. The engine output is shown in the video on a special Dyno page. It tracks horsepower and torque over time on the upper graph, and engine rpm and shift points on the lower graph. And we think it's still hiding something. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Any good drag car has a line lock, allowing the driver to lock the front brakes and leave the rears free to do a nice tire-warming (or tire-shredding, depending on length) burnout. Ford has it on the Mustang, Chevy puts it on the ZL1, and now Dodge is adding it to the Demon. It should help get the giant Nitto tires up to temp for a drag run. And once the tires are warm, there's launch control, just like on the SRT Hellcat, with selectable rpm to dial things in for the conditions. The Demon also has a shift light in the cluster, and the driver can set a shift point individually for each gear. After each drag run, you can activate Quick Cooldown, which Dodge says uses the first production application of After-Run Chiller – it runs the cooling fan and intercooler coolant pump with the engine off until the coolant reaches its target temp. It's shown in one of the slides above. The checklist on the left side of that page suggests it requires a set of conditions be met to work: engine off, hood open, and sufficient battery level. This further reinforces our theory that the supercharger is going to make big boost, beyond the Hellcat's 11.6 psi. And while you're waiting for the supercharger to cool off for another run, you can review the performance data the car records.
2014 Dodge Durango leaks ahead of NY rollout
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Even though Chrysler will reportedly discontinue the Dodge Durango after the current model's lifespan - said to be around 2016 - that isn't stopping the automaker from improving its full-size, three-row SUV. The vehicle won't debut at the New York Auto Show until tomorrow, but images are already leaking out ahead of the embargo lift, and they show that the 2014 model is getting even more aggressive styling to go with more technology inside and out.
Dodge limited its early press shots of the new Durango to just the R/T trim level, but this new look adds a meaner look to this model with more dramatic projector-beam headlights along with a "floating" crosshair grille and a restyled fascia. At the rear of the Durango, LED racetrack taillights show a family resemblance to the Charger and Dart, while a new rear fascia adds to the styling while also allowing for an integrated trailer hitch.
On the tech side, the instrument panel looks to have been redesigned to include a standard seven-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) gauge cluster, and it also appears as if Chrysler's well-liked UConnect system has been updated with the 8.4-inch touchscreen found in other Chrysler vehicles. The 2013 model's conventional console shifter has been replaced by a rotary knob for gear selection, suggesting that there are transmission changes afoot as well. We'll have more details when the silks slide off this big boy tomorrow, so stay tuned.
Chrysler's Woodward Dream Cruise festivities include Ram concept truck debut
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The streets will be crowded next weekend along Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan for the 19th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise. As part of the run-up to the festivities, Chrysler has announced that all of its brands - Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, SRT and Mopar - will bring along their latest vehicles. Also included will be a collection of classic American cars and various activities for attendees at the official Chrysler location on the corner of Woodward and 13 Mile Road.
Special to this year, Ram brand director Bob Hegbloom and head of design John Dehner will unveil a Ram concept truck on Saturday. Chrysler will also bring Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs fame along to show off a few custom Chrysler-made vehicles of his own. Fans of the brand on Facebook will get the chance to virtually customize a vehicle from the automaker's portfolio, with the winner getting their dream car built for them by Chrysler. Pretty cool stuff, no?
As in past years, Ford and General Motors will have an official presence at the event as well, and you can expect to see plenty of cars of all makes and models from all parts of the globe. The madness starts this Friday, August 16, from 4:30 PM to 10 PM, with the main event taking place on Saturday, from 9 AM to 9 PM.
