1963 Dodge Dart Convertible, Auto, Pwr Disc Brakes, PS, Pwr Top, No Reserve

Reasonable Rides and Rods presents this nice little 1963 Dodge Dart Convertible for your consideration.  Originally a California car, this Dart has been well cared for over the years and is a great cruiser with a nice presentation.  This is a no reserve auction, so high bidder wins.

Paint/Exterior

This Dart has been recently painted.  The paint is driver quality paint, but has a nice shine.  There are no signs of rust or any repairs that we can detect.  The body is in great condition and has a few custom features with painted front and rear bumpers to match the wheels.  The trim and glass is all in good condition.  The top is in great shape and is power.  It opens and closes as it should.  This Dart rides on a set of 17 inch custom wheels with new tires.

Engine/Trans

Powered by the 225 Slant Six, the engine was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago.  The engine is detailed nicely and runs great.  A new carburetor was recently installed and it has a custom Flowmaster exhaust.  The engine fires right up and does not leak or have any funny noises.  The transmission is the original 904 automatic and is push button operated.  The transmission shifts great and the push button system works as it should.  This combination makes for a great cruising vehicle that is easy on gas.

Interior

The interior is all new.  The seats have been recovered, along with new door panels and carpet.  All of the gauges and controls work.  A custom billet steering wheel has been installed.  The trunk has been finished to match the interior.   Overall, the interior is in excellent condition.

Suspension/Brakes

We recently installed a new power front disc brake kit.  It is a vast improvement over the original drum brakes.  This Dart will now stop on a dime.  Several of the steering components were replaced while doing the disc upgrade.  New shocks were installed around.  The car drives great and tracks down the road really nice.

Overall

This little Dart is a great driver.  It is truly a car that you can hop in and enjoy now.  While not a show car and entirely perfect, it is a great car for someone looking for a classic car on a budget.

Bull leads Texas police on four hour chase

Thu, May 12 2016

A bull leading police on a chase through a Texas town may sound like something out of a country music song, but police in Arlington, Texas recently had just such a situation on their hands. According to WFAA, on the afternoon of May 9, a young bull got loose from his pen and decided to take a stroll through the streets of Arlington. "There was a cow walking down the neighborhood," said Arlington resident Jillyan Nance. "It trotted down my home and cut across our yard into the neighbor's yard." Arlington police were alerted to the escaped bull and, in a scene more Texas than Steve Earle drinking a Shiner at the Alamo, they attempted to chase it down with police cruisers. For the next four hours, police engaged the creature in a sedate, low-speed chase through Arlington, Dalworthington Gardens, and other neighboring towns. The bull, for his part, largely ignored his pursuers and the throngs of people coming out of their houses to watch the strange scene and post pictures to Facebook and Instagram. With numerous police cruisers in not-quite-hot pursuit, the bull ambled along the shady streets, stopping here and there to munch on some grass and take in the views. Eventually, a friendly local rancher showed up and lassoed the bull in Dalworthington Gardens just before 9:00 p.m. Police have not released the name of the bull's owner or any motive for its escape. Perhaps, like the unicorn that escaped into a California orchard back in February, it decided that it had had enough of working for a living and was looking for something else. Experience the Woodward Dream Cruise in a Dodge Challenger Hellcat

Thu, Aug 20 2015

While Autoblog was consumed by coverage of the increasingly important Monterey Car Week last weekend, there was another big even going on. The Woodward Dream Cruise is significantly lighter in terms of news, but there's no denying that it's a far bigger, and far more egalitarian than what the wine-and-cheese crowd experience on the links at Pebble Beach. The Dream Cruise crams tens of thousands of cars and over a million spectators along a four-lane ribbon of asphalt between Ferndale and Pontiac, MI. What's remarkable aren't these numbers, though, so much as the distances they travel. Owners and admirers come from far and wide, across the United States and in some cases across the globe, to take in the spectacle. This year, local radio and television coverage featured fans that traveled from Japan, Australia, and Europe, just to take in the cruise. Of course, we realize that not everyone can make the pilgrimage to Woodward Avenue. With that fact in mind, we decided to bring a bit of the Dream Cruise to Autoblog with a time-lapse video of the cruise route. You can experience the good (a Lamborghini Gallardo, Chevrolet Chevelle, and Oldsmobile Cutlass 442), the bad (the traffic jams), and the ugly (no, your 2003 Ford Focus does not qualify as a classic, get the hell out of the cruiser lanes). So join us, as we turn off 8 Mile Road behind the wheel of our 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and run north, through Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak, Huntington Woods, Berkley, Bloomfield Township, and Bloomfield Hills, before ending up on Wide Track Drive in Pontiac.

Dodge Demon priced at $84,995, or almost 20 grand more than a Hellcat

Tue, May 23 2017

Ridiculousness has a price, and it is $84,995. That is the admission fee for the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, or as most people call it: The Demon. The number includes a $1,700 gas guzzler tax and $1,095 destination fee. It does not include a number of options, may of which cost a dollar. Of those $1 options, a front passenger seat and rear seats are but two. Which is more of a reminder that, yes, Dodge will sell you car with only one seat if you want it that way. The other big $1 option is the Demon Crate, which includes skinny front tires for the drag strip, an impact wrench and jack, and a performance powertrain control module that bumps the power up to 840 hp on race gas. Dodge says the true value of the crate is $6,140. Don't let that fool you, as chances are they're just baking that cost in the $19,705 increase from the Challenger Hellcat. Did we mention you can get a sunroof. Yes, you can get a sunroof, for $4,995. Surely one of the 3,300 Demon buyers (3,000 in the US, 300 in Canada) will take pride in checking every option box. For posterity, here's the entire list verbatim from Dodge's press release: Demon Crate ($1): Exclusive Demon Crate offers components that unleash the car's 840 horsepower, 770 lb.-ft. of torque and full potential at the drag strip and is personalized with the buyer's name, VIN and serial number. The Demon Crate and the performance parts it holds are valued at $6,140, but Challenger SRT Demon owners can buy the entire package for $1.
