Up for sale is a 1997 Dodge Dakota with 105,XXX miles.  This truck is a 4x4 pickup with a V6 3.9 liter engine and 5 speed manual transmission - sport edition.  Cloth interior that is in fair shape for its age.  Truck comes with an aftermarket CD player.  Starts up every morning without issue and has cold A/C for these hot muggy days.  It has a 3" body lift with 31 X 10.50 R15 BFG All Terrains.  The body has dings all over it - no large dents that keep you from operating the truck though.  The paint is very faded and there is a significant amount of surface rust on the roof.  There are also spots of surface rust scattered in different spots on the body.  No part of the outer body is rusting out - just surface rust.  There is a spot inside the bottom of the bed that is rusting through - it doesn't weaken the bed though.  Manual windows, manual locks, rear window has a sliding back glass.

This is a great truck for work or play - would be a great hunting truck!

The good:
  • COLD A/C
  • Starts up every time - runs smooth.
  • Comes with Diamond Plate tool box.
  • Aftermarket CD Player
  • VA State Inspection valid thru 10/13.

The following has just been replaced:
  • Front brakes
  • Front rotors
  • Front brake hoses
  • Battery
  • Fresh Oil Change

The following has been replaced in the last 5,000 miles:
  • Exhaust - new muffler and tailpipe from muffler back.
  • 2 inner tie rod ends
  • Front End Alignment
  • Rear U-Joint
  • Serpentine Belt
  • Spark Plugs
  • Spark Plug wires
  • Cap & Rotor
  • PCV Valve
  • Serpentine belt tensioner

The bad:
  • Headliner sagging - as shown in pic.
  • Manifold leak - sounds like it's on the right side.
  • Small rattle towards front of motor - no idea what this is, it doesn't sound like its in the block and doesn't really increase when you rev it up.  The best way to describe this sound is rattle instead of a tap - water pump is not leaking.  It has actually done this for years and hasn't created any issues - sometimes it doesn't make a noise.  Just wanted to note it.  I've recorded a video that seems to exacerbate the sound but gives and idea of the pitch - http://youtu.be/F_AZZ5T9J-4
  • Does not go into 4X4 low.  If you disconnect the linkage it will go into 4X4 low.  Whoever put the body lift on before I received the truck didn't properly extend the 4X4 shifter so it hits the body before it gets into low range.  It's not that the low range doesn't work - the throw is just off on the shifter.  It needs to be taken off cut and re-welded to modify the throw in order to clear the body.
  • Condition of paint.
  • Crack in windshield - as shown in pic.
  • Spare tire carrier under bed is broken.  Spare tire will still come with truck in back of bed.

I've made every attempt to describe this vehicle to the best of my ability.  Please let me know if you have any additional questions before bidding and I'll be happy to answer to the best of my ability.  Thanks for looking.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat revving is sonic bacon

Fri, 23 May 2014

This is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and we're sure that by now, you know its stats, including over 600 horsepower from its 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. What, pray tell, does that blown engine sound like, though?
At least judging on the sonic strength of this video, it's very, very dirty. Honestly, it sounds unlike anything that's come out of the Chrysler Group in a long time, if ever. It's loud, almost brutally so, with a bark that few road-going V8s can match.
Of course, you should be the final judge here. Take a look and a listen at the two videos below, one of which comes from our friends at Cars.com that provides a nice look under the hood, and then let us know what you think of the Hellcat's singing voice in Comments.

Dodge Charger Widebody is rumored on its way for 2020

Mon, Feb 4 2019

Grab all the salt you have, save the amount you need for your recommended daily allowance. Mopar Insider reports its sources as having confirmed Dodge will unveil a Charger Widebody for the 2020 model year, in SRT Hellcat and R/T Scat Pack trims. Such a move would copy the trim and aesthetic formula used — to excellent affect — on the Dodge Challenger. The Charger widebodies would get also get unique suspension tuning, and the same 305/35 ZR 20 Pirellis as on the Challenger widebodies, but wrapped around unique, dual-five-spoke designs that are 11 inches wide. There has been talk of a widebody Charger for at least two years, many of those conversations carried out in the same way sleuths parse grainy photos of monsters. In April 2017, Instagram user gtpprix caught a standard Dodge Charger wearing Challenger widebody wheels, spaced so that the rubber extended beyond the fenders. A month later, a YouTube account in the name of Sinister Life caught the same car on video. The license plate doesn't appear to be from Michigan, which is where almost all Dodge prototypes get licensed. On the other hand, early spy shots of Challenger widebody prototypes from 2016 featured this same setup — a normal version with protruding tires. The SRT CEO at the time, Tim Kuniskis, joked about testing the Challenger widebody openly, knowing everyone would think it was a prototype Demon. According to Mopar Insider, engines and outputs won't change on the Charger widebody versions. That means sticking with the 485-horsepower, 6.4-liter V8 in the R/T Scat Pack, and the 717-hp, 6.2-liter V8 in the Charger Hellcat. Looks would change, however, with new front and rear fascias to differentiate the model and cohere with the new lines. That includes a new dual-snorkel hood grille and repositioned intakes, plus tweaked side sills. If it's really on the way, we should know this summer. Such a model would also support recent comments from Steve Beahm, head of Dodge, Fiat, and Chrysler brands, when Automobile asked about how the company will maintain any momentum in difficult days for sedans. Beahm said, "[Our] our job was to [ask,] 'How do we differentiate within the brands that are going to remain passenger-car brands?' ... What we do is we try to make our vehicles look different." 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat revealed [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Almost immediately after we drove the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, we began wondering: what's next? Pumping 707 horsepower into the Challenger seemed so crazy - and so intoxicating - we just assumed that Dodge would try that trick again.
Rumors swirled about a Charger Hellcat. Frankly it makes even more sense than the Challenger version. The Charger is a bigger car, and Dodge has never been shy about dropping monster engines under its hood. Hell (cat), we've seen Charger mules running around town that appeared to be the super sedan.
And finally, it's here. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was revealed today at a preview event near Detroit, and it will be a centerpiece of the Chrysler display this weekend at the Woodward Dream Cruise.
