We are going to sell (or part out) our 1993 Dakota extended cab 4X4 pickup. It is equipped with the 5.2 L (318) V-8 engine, automatic transmission, 3.55 gears with sure grip in the rear, cruise control, alloy rims, bucket seats with console, under the rail bedliner assembly, etc. The truck is showing just about 250,000 miles, but ran & drove very well until an electrical problem popped up and now the engine won't start. When we got the truck, we had to replace the fuel pump & sender unit ($120), and rebuilt all 8 injectors ($30). We replaced the rear slider window (brand new - $150), and bought a new front air dam ($85) that hasn't even been installed yet. The body has very little rust (see pictures) with the only major issues being the left front fender and right door bottom. Mechanically, we know it needs a steering gear arm (have), windshield, shocks, exhaust work, and the radiator is leaking. It could also use a new rear bumper (rusted pretty bad), and the radio is missing. It would be a pretty cheap 4X4 for someone who wanted to do the repairs themselves, or a very good parts truck.

Like we said, we will try to sell the truck whole, but we do have the major parts listed also. If we get a bid on the whole truck quick enough, we will pull all the parts listings & sell the truck complete. If we don't get a bid on the complete truck, it WILL be parted out. The starting price reflects only what we could get for scrap plus some of what we already spent on parts. We prefer Paypal for the complete payment, less problems. We can hold the truck for a couple of weeks if necessary, it is tagged & insured. If you're local (Maryland), the truck is considered "Historic" and doesn't need an inspection. I don't know which states have similar designations. As it sits, the truck will need towed. Buyer is responsible for transporting. Any other questions can be answered by me (Ric) at 410-952-5919.

Dodge recalls 27k Darts for bracket that can disrupt transmission module

Thu, Sep 17 2015

Dodge is recalling 27,520 examples of the 2013-2015 Dart with dual-clutch gearboxes. The mounting bracket for the transmission control module can affect the part's operation and cause the compacts to suddenly shift into neutral. According to the automaker, 23,688 of them are in the US, 3,376 in Canada, 5 in Mexico, and 451 elsewhere. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports these examples carry build dates between February 24, 2012, and June 16, 2015. There are also no reports of accidents or injuries. Because of the way the bracket is mounted, the part can put too much force on the control module's circuit board and cause it to shift out of gear. The engine and airbags remain operable if this happens. To fix things, dealers will install a redesigned mount and replacement module. Related Video: Statement: Mounting Bracket September 14, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is recalling an estimated 23,688 cars in the U.S. to replace certain control modules and mounting brackets that may contribute to a loss of motive power. The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. An FCA US investigation prompted by a small number of warranty claims discovered a control-module mounting bracket may apply too much force and disrupt the function of a circuit board within the module. This condition, unique to certain cars equipped with dual dry-clutch transmissions (DDCT), may cause the transmission to shift into neutral. However, the engine remains on and the vehicle's air-bags, as well as other safety features, are unaffected. The condition may also be preceded by the illumination of a dashboard warning light. Customers who observe this are urged to contact their dealers. The campaign is limited to certain 2013-2015 Dodge Darts equipped with DDCTs. Additional vehicles will be recalled in Canada (3,376), Mexico (five) and outside the NAFTA region (451). Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed free of charge. Service will entail installation of a redesigned mounting bracket and replacement of the control module. Customers with additional questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.

470,000 Jeep Liberty, Chrysler 200, and Dodge Avenger models recalled for restraint defect

Sat, Oct 14 2017

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said on Friday it is recalling 470,000 vehicles worldwide to replace a component that may inhibit deployment of the vehicles' active head restraints in the event of a crash. Around 414,000 of those vehicles were sold in the United States. Apparently, "a component common to the modules of certain vehicles may degrade after extensive vehicle use." The recall covers 2012 Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicles and 2012-13 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger midsize cars. FCA says a warning light may alert owners to the problem. The Italian-American automaker said it is unaware of any injuries or accidents related to the recall. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened an investigation into the issue in June. (Reporting by David Shepardson; Editing by Steve Orlofsky) Related Video:
