1992 Dodge Dakota Le Extended Cab 4x4 *no Reserve* on 2040-cars

Year:1992 Mileage:99999

Livonia, Michigan, United States

You are bidding on a used 1992 Dodge Dakota LE Extended Cab 4x4 with cap. THE GOOD:* Rust is minimal for this model (see pictures), hardly any on the bed itself.*Engine was replaced a couple of years ago and has MAYBE 60K miles on it, runs strong.*Truck starts right up.*blinkers, headlights, instrument cluster, etc.... all function*includes a matching cap in good condition.*3 of the 4 tires are in good condition, one will need to be replaced soon. THE BAD:*Drivers side floorboard has rusted through*Transmission issues (details below)*Some trim is missing, although I believe I still have it set aside.*rusting around the wheels (see pics)*1 of the hinges on the drivers side door have broken causing the door to hang down, so to use it, as is, you'd have to lift it up a bit.*the hinges on the hood actually broke causing the hood to come up and it dented (see pic)... (the hinges were replaced and now function properly)There may be other items, but the pictures should show you better than I can tell you, please take a look at them before bidding because the truck is being sold "as-is."Regarding the transmission...This is why I'm selling it, otherwise it's a reliable little truck.A couple of weeks ago it stopped and wouldn't go into gear. I had it towed to the house and there it has sat while I've attempted to diagnose it. I did a transmission flush, new fluid and filter. Did not help. Will only go into first and will go into reverse, but after it warms up it will not. I haven't tried playing around and shifting it because I didn't want to cause additional damage. However, I believe the issue may be caused by a faulty transmission solenoid and I cannot get it to budge to replace it. I have WAY too many projects going on, its time to give someone else a shot.Take a look at all the pics and ask questions prior to bidding. Also, please make sure you will be able to pick up the truck in a timely manner because I do not have the space to store it.It is being sold as is and local pickup only!!

Dodge idles Viper production again at Conner Avenue

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

You've got to hand it to Dodge for having the gumption to put the original Viper into production in the first place. It was, after all, much more of an emotional decision than a practical one, and a move which saw the first production V10 engine placed in a road car - long before the advent of the Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Porsche Carrera GT or Lexus LFA, not to mention the other Ford, BMW and Volkswagen Group models that used such engines.
It's now been 22 years since the first Viper entered production and the Viper still rolls on several generations later, but we're sad to say that courageous decision has not always been met with overwhelming sales success. In fact parent Chrysler was forced to idle the Conner Avenue plant where the Viper is made back in April due to slow sales. And while production resumed again as planned on June 23, it apparently didn't do the trick.
As a result, Chrysler corporate communications chief Shawn Morgan revealed to Autoblog that the assembly line has been shut down again for another two weeks. The line was up and running for nearly two full work weeks from June 23 until the holiday weekend that started on Thursday, July 3. But instead of coming back online today as planned, it's been idled again for the weeks of July 7 and 14. That means it will be July 21, at the earliest, before the serpentine supercars start slithering down the assembly line at Conner Avenue again. Once it does, however, production is set to resume at the same pace it was before the shutdown.

Dodge Challenger Scat Pack adds power and noise, with a warranty

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

If you want to go fast, there's certainly nothing wrong with the Dodge Challenger SRT8. With 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque for 2014, there's certainly not much to complain about. But what if you want something more aftermarket in flavor? There's no shortage of options, but while turning to the tuner world will make your car plenty fast, that extra power won't just shred rear tires, it'll torch your warranty, as well. That's where Dodge's Scat Pack comes in.
With three stages of mods for both the 5.7 and 6.4-liter Hemi V8s Challenger (as well as the 5.7-liter Charger and, soon, the four-pot Dart), the Scat Pack cars give drivers all the power, aggression and noise of a heavily modded aftermarket car while maintaining the piece of mind provided by the Dodge warranty.
Power gets bumped up to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque with the 6.4-liter Scat Pack, while the 5.7-liter can provide up to 58 hp and 47 lb-ft of torque to add to the stock engine's 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet. It's the latter engine that can really get some work done, with upgrades ranging from the mundane - intake and exhaust - to the racy, like the ported heads and high-flow headers.

Dodge offers 100 years of solid advice in new ad

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

This is a cool ad. Dodge, which is celebrating its centennial this year, recruited some of its peers to see what you should and shouldn't do in life. Of course, some are obvious - don't complain, learn from your mistakes and live for now.
Then again, some are less obvious. Some, actually, are downright awesome. Towards the end, each piece of advice is interspersed with clips of Dodge's redesigned Challenger smoking its tires. Really, this ad feels like it'd be worthy of a Super Bowl spot. This commercial's personal nature is really in keeping with some of the big game's most interesting ads, like the Imported From Detroit commercial, the Farmer ad and Maserati's surprise clip from this year's game.
Take a look below and let us know what you think.
