1969 Superbee, 4th owner, 383 (NOM) 4spd(original) with bucket seat, console, A36 Performance axle Pkg (3:55) sure grip w/26" (054) radiator. This car was restored in 2004 by the original owner whom I purchased it from. The engine, transmission, rear axle and front-end have been rebuilt to STOCK as possible spec and starts, shifts and drives with no issues. The car never overheats, doesn't pull, clank, groan, stall, hesitations or vibrate. I've driven the Bee approximately 1200 miles this year to various local car shows and we normally get 12-13 mpg. I have a restoration book which shows the car before the restoration and the various steps that were taken with the car. No details were overlooked.  The engine was rebuilt for no lead and uses no oil and the six pack cam was used. The 11"Hays clutch was just changed. All accessories work including the radio and FM convertor Although the paint is 8 years old, it has held up great and I would rate it a solid 8.5 on a 10 scale. The bumpers have been rechromed along with the rear taillights. I'll list the items which were replaced and I have receipts for most if not all of them.

New steering gear box

3 new (year one) wiring harness,(engine, dash, trunk)

New dual exhaust w/H pipe, Hooker area chamber mufflers (no drone) with stainless exhaust tips

New vintage wheels, front 14x6 w/cooper 225-70-14 and rear 15x7 w/cooper 275-60-15 (great old school look)

New Legendary interior which included foam buns, carpet, headliner and the console was also resored

Dash restored and include electronic Tick-Tock-Tack (not original)

New Red top Mopar battery, date coded wires and coil, Mopar electronic ignition

The original carb (4615s) was rebuilt by Scott Harms and has a life time warranty

Included with sale is a reproduction window sticker and title history (NO broadcast sheet)

I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of things, but I hope this information give you an idea of the quality of the Bee. This car is sold "as is" with no warrant or guarantee implied! Dodge Challenger spied exercising supercharged Hellcat Hemi V8

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

One of the prime complaints against the Dodge Challenger is that, even in SRT8 guise, its 470 horsepower is responsible for hauling over 4,200 pounds of vehicle. For comparison, the 420 hp in the Ford Mustang GT only has to deal with 3,618 lbs. Things only get worse from there, as the higher-performance variants of both the Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro are far more powerful than an SRT8 without adding on much heft.
So what is Chrysler to do? The correct answer is add a whole lot more grunt to its hefty two-door and even the odds. That's where the all-new Hellcat engine comes into play. We reported on this engine in May, and suggested that the Hellcat, a supercharged powerplant based on a 6.4-liter V8, would easily generate 500 to 570 hp and could likely arrive boasting more than 600 ponies.
Chrysler's ace in its sleeve has now been spied testing, with a number of Hellcat-equipped Challengers running the potent new engine both in more urbanized areas and under the sun of Death Valley. The hoods on these testers have been raised to accommodate the engine, and that camouflage over the fascias of these prototypes is there to hide a larger air intake. We also note what appears to be a new split grille under wraps. As for power output, our spies are now suggesting a Viper-equalling 640 hp from the Hellcat-equipped cars.

Georgia sheriff buys Dodge Charger Hellcat, and the feds want a refund

Sat, Jul 21 2018

A sheriffs office in Georgia recently purchased a new 2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. It's currently being used and driven by Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway. Now the U.S. Department of Justice wants its money back. All $70,000 of it. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the DOJ described the purchase as extravagant. The purchase was originally approved by the DOJ, with the money coming from asset forfeitures. The government has since questioned whether the car is being used for its intended and stated purpose — undercover and covert operations as well as the Gwinnett County Beat the Heat program. The Beat the Heat program is a nonprofit meant to "to educate drivers about the dangers of distracted driving and illegal street racing" by holding drag nights at local tracks. The Hellcat — along with a 1996 Chevy Impala SS, a 1990 Chevy Corvette and 2004 Volkswagen GLI — are all featured on the Beat the Heat website. All but the Hellcat are privately owned and funded. The DOJ prohibits the use of taxpayer money for "extravagant expenditures" and says the "the vehicle in question is a high-performance vehicle not typically purchased as part of a traditional fleet of law enforcement vehicles." The sheriff's office defended the purchase, stating that Sheriff Conway uses it to commute and "when he participates in field operations, covert and otherwise, with our deputies" and that "Conway maintains that this vehicle is an appropriate purchase, especially for an agency with a $92 million budget and the opportunity this vehicle provides in making our roadways safer." The DOJ has given the sheriff's department until July 31 to repay the money. Gwinnett County intends to comply with the reimbursement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
