Up for sale is a 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee 2-dr.  It came out with a 383 engine, but now has a 440 in it - serial number is 25364305 on the block, year built 9/28/1967, makes it a 1968 engine - auto tranny 373 positive traction rear end.  It has long tube headers, with dual exhaust turned down at the rear bumper.  It has power steering and I have driven this car about 20 miles. It runs great and the tranny shifts perfect. It has good power.  The carburetor that i drove it with came from my wife's mustang.  I will have a used one on it before the end of sale. The chrome for the windshield and the back glass, are in the trunk of the car.  I was told when i bought the car, that it was a 1 family owner car: mother and son.  This car has a very straight body, but will need lower front and rear quarter panel patches; and about 16x16 inches in trunk pan - rest is pretty solid; need front floor pans; about 6x16' on rear floor pans where your feet sit; but the rest of the car has surface rust from sitting behind barn for the last 24 years.  The passenger side fender can be repaired, but I have one to go with it.  The interior is all original; the back seat and side panels are in really good shape; the front needs redone; also the front door panels and headliner will need replaced.  The driver's door shuts, but will need the latch replaced and some minor welding.  All of the glass is original, with no cracks; windows roll up & down with ease, even though I drove this car, I would not drive very far.  It stops good, but the brake master cylinder has small leak; also the radiator has several pinhole leaks, but is original.  All the lights work, but the right front signal light doesn't work.  It maybe the housing ?? It comes with a new front end kit, ball joints, upper and lower outer tie rods, and bushings.  The only thing I can find missing, is the radio face plate and the bumble bee emblem that goes in the grille and deck lid.  I am sure I missed something.  Ask questions and I'll answer them as soon as possible.  The vin number will be on the title if you want to decode it.   I am sorry, the cowl tag and the build sheet was missing when purchased.  I have the previous owner's name and number.  Thanks Gene. 276-733-9798 or 276-235-1904.  Happy bidding.

Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).

Dodge pulls New Girl and The Office stars for new Dart spots

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

Dodge is hoping that a heavy dash of humor helps it move some more units of the Dart with a hilarious ad campaign called Don't Touch My Dart. The spots star actors Craig Robinson, best known for his role as Darryl on The Office, and Jake Johnson from New Girl as neighbors and friends playing a game of one-upmanship over Robinson's new car. Johnson is envious of the ride and just wants to touch it.
The ads are pretty funny if you're a fan of somewhat absurdist humor, and Robinson has just the right amount of over-the-top seriousness to really make the commercials work. They have kind of a Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote vibe with Johnson constantly in inept pursuit of what he wants, but he clearly isn't getting it.
The first four spots in the campaign are already online, but according to Dodge this is just the beginning. The company says that it's planning about 24 different versions of these ads in various lengths to play on TV and online. You can check out the ads titled First Scratch, Birdhouse Police Garage Door and Voice Touching below, along with the brand's release about the new ads. There's also a pretty good gag on its YouTube page with Robinson protecting his Dart.

Will Dodge limit 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat to 1,200 units?

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

With over 700 horsepower on tap and a price tag barely over $60k, Dodge appears on paper to have a winner on its hands with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. But if you want to get your hands on one, you may have to act quicker than this most powerful of muscle cars covers the quarter-mile.
That's because, according to our compatriots over at Edmunds, Dodge may limit production - in the first year, at least - to just 1,200 units. That would amount to barely a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge moves each month, and would also mean only one Hellcat for every two Dodge dealers in the US - which could lead to some serious contention over which stores and which customers can get their hands on the ultimate Challenger.
Reached for comment, SRT spokesman Dan Reid told Autoblog that "there is no plan to limit production of the Challenger Hellcat," echoing the words of Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis who told Edmunds: "We don't know what the market demand is." Which doesn't mean that it won't restrict production, but doesn't mean that it will, either. It just hasn't decided yet - or announced any such decision, at any rate - over what will be the final allocation strategy for what could be a game-changing muscle car. That is, at least, until new versions of the Mustang and Camaro come along in pursuit of Dodge's bragging rights...
