VIDEO PRESENTATION BELOW
In the 60's, auto manufactures were making autos classified as "strippers" because of the bareness of items to appeal to would be racers. This Coronet showcases that thinking in its great styling and simplicity.
The original 15's have been replaced with 20" gray five spoke rims, wrapped with Nitto 245/35 20's, 555 model tires help give this Coronet its stylish low key looks.
Background is at the Frontiers Of Flight Museum located at Dallas Love Field. We thank them for allowing us to shoot most of our shots at their location. Please stop in and visit the museum when you are in Dallas.
This Coronet with its aftermarket wheels and styling makes for more than just a Sunday cruiser.
Front disc brakes and rear drums help this Coronet stop.
The interior has custom touches and is a major upgrade from the original interior of the 66 Coronets.
B& M shifter is responsible for the shifting and eye catching chrome styling.
A white face Autogage tach complements the console.
The center console drink holders integrated into the center console will be a welcome addition missing from cars of this era.
4 barrel carb pumps fuel into the built 440 engine. As you can see by the VIN# the car was a 318 from the factory.
We don't know how long ago or who did the work on the engine, but the car came to us from Odessa.
The paint is fair. THer are a few mionor chips, but nothing that can't be touched up.
Transmission is the automatic TorqueFlite option.
Dual exhaust help make a great sounding exhaust note.
All four tires have plenty of "cruising around town" miles left on them. The Nitto brand are both stylish and a great handling tire on top of that.
The undercarriage is original and undetailed, but solid.

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands. Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.
Dodge has released several more of its Anchorman 2-themed commercials, starring Will Ferrell as inept newsreader Ron Burgundy. The four spots, one of which is a sequel to a previous commercial, follow roughly the same pattern as previous ads, with Ferrell's Burgundy misunderstanding or generally making a fool of himself. For some of the ads, though, Burgundy is selling more than just Durangos - the red-suited host of San Diego's most watched news broadcast shilling the entire Dodge lineup. We've included all four ads down below, and you can also hope over to our original posts to see some of the older commercials. Oh, and if you're getting tired of these - we aren't, aside from the Do-dge spot - just remember that Ferrell reportedly filmed around 70 ads for Dodge.
If you own a Hellcat, either a Charger or Challenger, built between Feb. 6, 2017, and May 30, 2017, you may want to consider parking it for a while. The reason for this is NHTSA officially acknowledged a recall from Chrysler for engine oil cooler lines that could fail, leading to major oil loss. Which of course could lead to severe engine damage. According to the recall information, the issue lies in the rubber used in the oil cooler line. Chrysler's testing revealed that the rubber didn't meet the company's criteria. As a result it was able to separate from a crimped aluminum portion of the line, letting oil spill out. The recall goes into effect on Sept. 22, which is when Chrysler will start reaching out to owners to alert them. The company will replace the oil cooler lines free of charge. Owners can call Chrysler's customer service at 1-800-853-1403 with any questions regarding the recall, which has the reference code "T48." Related Video:
