1965 Dodge Coronet Parts Car Project on 2040-cars
Mount Airy, North Carolina, United States
Here is a 1965 Bodge Coronet that am selling as off road car due to fact that I do not have a title. Will make a great nostalgic 1/8 mile drag car.Why not make an altered wheel base out of this one? This is the car that started it all. The original Funny Car! The 65 Dodge was actually the first funny cars with steel bodies to dominate the drag strip in the 65 FX era. Think Mr. Norm,Grand Spaulding Dodge. Yea the one with the Ram on the door! Facts about the car. This is a rough body missing all its interior parts. What you call gut-ed! This car has its original paint! Never been repainted ! This car has a very solid frame. The floor pans are 60% gone. The trunk pan is very nice and solid. The driver side is the worst side with many dents and dings and surface rust. Driver side quarter has been hammered out with no bondo. The passenger side is much better with less damage. The top of this car is very nice with just surface rust. This car still has its drive train. A wide block 318 sits under the hood with 727 automatic cable shift. Also has 8 3/4 rear. Glass is good in this car with just the windshield needing replaced. This car is not running as I expect the new owner to finish gutting car and start restoration. Again this is being sold as a off road car with no title. This car does have a serial #. I expect a 1000.00 paypal deposit within three days of sell closing. Balance due [cash] at time of pickup. I will meet new buyer at his convince for pickup. Sold AS IS. I will be glad to answer all guest ions through email or call 336-789-5249. |

Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high
Wed, 18 Sep 2013We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.
Dodge Viper recall requires small-handed mechanics
Fri, 25 Apr 2014It has been over a year since Chrysler first announced its recall of 3,660 2003-2004 Dodge Vipers because the airbag could suddenly deploy. The repairs are finally beginning, and it appears to be a nightmare for mechanics.
According to the automaker's filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag control module can fail, which causes the bag or the seatbelt pre-tensioner to deploy without warning. It took over a year to design the new parts, according to The New York Times. However, Chrysler finally has a new "jumper harness with an in-line diode filter circuit" ready to fix the problem.
The dilemma now moves to the mechanics who have to actually install the part. A 47-step guide from Chrysler explains that the procedure should take about two hours. It's not an easy job, though. Most of the dashboard has to be taken apart, and the instructions include this helpful bit of advice: "Installing the jumper harness and filter box into position is not an easy task. Patience, perseverance, and small hands are required." We wish the best of luck to them. The fix comes just in time for the Vipers to enjoy the summer sun.
What's the deal with Chrysler demanding colleges crush their Vipers? [w/video]
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Students and teachers at a Washington community college are up in arms following an order from Chrysler that it must destroy the pre-production Dodge Viper that was donated to the school's automotive technology program ten years ago.
The Viper in question is said to be the fourth off the production line, based on its VIN, and has had its emissions controls disabled, allowing its ten-cylinder engine to produce 600 horsepower, according to a report from Yahoo! Autos. As one of the first Vipers ever produced, the school's AT instructors claim it could be worth $250,000 in a museum, while a local news report purports that Jay Leno once tried to purchase the car, but the sale was prevented by Chrysler.
As pointed out by our friends at Autobytel, though, there are a lot of things in this story that don't quite add up. Immediately noticeable from the news report embedded below - which shows the car at South Puget Sound Community College - is that the car in question is not a 1992 model. When the Viper went on sale in 1992, it was only available as an RT/10 with a (flimsy) soft top, like the red car shown above. But the car featured in the report from KING5 News (inset image) is clearly a hardtop Viper GTS, which didn't enter production until 1996. And even if, as reported by a local newspaper, the hardtop featured is a prototype, it doesn't explain the lack of another iconic feature of the first Vipers - their distinctive side pipes. This kind of pokes holes in the school's argument that this is the fourth Viper to ever roll down the line. At best, this appears to be a pre-production Viper GTS.
