OK!!! THE CAR GUYS SAY THAT THIS IS THE YEAR TO BUY A MUSCLE CAR. THEY SAY THE PRICES ON MUSCLE CARS ARE ONLY GOING TO GO UP.
I HAVE A 1974 DODGE CHARGER UP FOR AUCTION. I'M THE 3RD OWNER OF THIS CAR. I DIDN'T KNOW THE 1ST OWER BUT DID KNOW THE 2ND ONE REAL WELL. WHEN HE BOUGHT IT. IT HAD A 318 CID ENGINE. HE REPLACED IT WITH A 440 POLICE INTERCEPER OUT OF A WRECKED SOUTH DAKOTA HIGHWAY PATROL CAR. HE THEN HAD IT BLUE PRINTED AND BALANCED. (I DO NOT HAVE THE PAPERS TO PROVE THIS. BUT I WAS THERE THE DAY HE PAID FOR IT). THE CAR HAS LESS THEN 10,000 MILES ON IT SINCE IT WAS OVER-HAULED. IT HAS A NEW GAS TANK, ALL NEW CARPET, THE FRONT SEAT (BENCH) HAS BEEN REDONE THE BACK SEAT IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE GUY I BOUGHT THIS FROM WAS KIND OF A BACK YARD MECHANIC SO THE WIREING IN THE DASH NEEDS SOME HELP. THE DASH IS THE ONLY THING INSIDE THAT HASN'T BEEN REPLACED. THE INTERIOR IS ALL BLACK. THE EXTERIOR IS MIDNIGHT BLACK. ONCE TOWING THE CAR IT GOT A SMALL SCRATCH IN THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR FENDER. I THINK IT CAN BE BUFFED OUT. IT WILL SHOW UP IN THE PICTURES. THE RIMS ARE BRAND NEW AND SO ARE THE TIRES BUT HAVE SOME WEATHER CRACKING. ( DON'T KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED IN THE LAST 6 YEARS THE CAR HAS BEEN IN HEATED STORAGE). IT USED TO HAVE A/C AND ALL THE BRACKETS (I THINK) ARE THERE. I'M NOT A MECHANIC LIKE I SAID I THINK. LAST TIME I DROVE IT THE BRAKES WERE KIND OF MUSHY MORE THEN LIKELY NEEDS BRAKE FLUID. THE LAST THING I CAN TELL YOU ABOUT THIS CAR IS IT'S FAST. I JUST WANT IT TO GO TO SOMEONE WHO CAN FINISH IT. I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO DO IT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION PLEASE ASK. ALSO EBAY WOULDN'T LET ME LIST THE MILAGE AS UNKNOWN SO THE 100,000 ISN'T RIGHT. THE SPEED-O METER IS THE ORGINAL. I FORGOT TO MENTION I HAVE ALL THE TRIM BUT IF YOU BUY IT YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK FOR BETTER . I HAVE NEW DOOR HANDLES. IT ALSO HAS A HALF VINYL TOP THAT IS FAIR CONDITION. ALSO NEED PASSINGER SIDE MIROR. LIKE I SAID ANY QUESTION ASK BEFORE YOU BID.
IF YOU WIN THIS AUCTION. I REQUIRE $500 DOWN WITHEN 5 DAYS AND FULL PAYMENT BEFORE YOU PICK IT UP OR SHIP IT OUT.
I HIT THE WRONG BUTTON AND I CAN'T SEEM TO CHANGE IT BUT THE CAR IS NOT OHV NATURALLY ASPIRATED. AS FAR AS I KNOW!!!!!

NC dealer creates the convertible Challenger that Dodge won't build
Mon, Aug 5 2019Dodge still hasn't turned the Challenger into a convertible, and the odds of seeing a factory-built drop-top muscle car appear in showrooms are decreasing annually. Tired of waiting, a dealership in North Carolina teamed up with a Florida-based body shop to create a topless alternative to the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro. It's the real thing, and it's for sale. Keffer Dodge, Chrysler, Ram and Jeep shipped three 2019 Challengers to a shop named Convertible Builders, according to Motor Authority. After losing their lid, they gained a cloth soft top that opens and closes at the push of a button. There's no word on what effect the conversion has on handling, or what Convertible Builders did to offset the loss of structural rigidity. The build didn't include mechanical modifications. Two of the convertibles are R/T Scat Pack models equipped with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that serves 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. It's not a supercharged Hellcat V8, but it's potent enough to spin the rear wheels in third gear. The third, R/T-based model features a 375-horsepower, 5.7-liter V8. While our dream build would use a six-speed manual transmission, all three come with an eight-speed automatic that sends the engine's power to the rear wheels. Keffer's website lists the gray, white, and red cars at $64,000, $60,000, and $56,300, respectively. The regular R/T Scat Pack Widebody model starts at $46,245, and the eight-speed automatic adds another $1,595, so the convertible conversion adds about $16,000. It's your only option, unless you're brave enough to chop the top yourself, or patient enough to wait until the early 2020s. Dodge has already started developing the next-generation Challenger, so the current car is unlikely to spawn a convertible before it retires. Its replacement due out in 2021 or 2022 will allegedly ride on a wider, longer evolution of the Giorgio platform found under the Alfa Romeo Giulia, among other models, and unverified rumors claim it's being designed with a topless variant in mind from the get-go. It might resurrect the Barracuda nameplate originally assigned to Plymouth when it makes its debut. Auto News Dodge Convertible Performance
Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.
Lee Iacocca's very first Dodge Viper RT/10 nets $285,500 at auction
Fri, Jan 17 2020The first 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 to roll down the assembly line, which was snapped up by Chrysler chief Lee Iacocca, yesterday hammered at the Bonhams auction in Arizona for $285,500, more than double the pre-sale estimate. According to a history of the car published by the auction house, Iacocca, in his introduction of the Viper to the press, pointed to the car on stage and said, "This one right here is mine." That historic Viper, with serial number 001, has never been available on the open market, as Iacocca kept the car from new until he passed away last year. The car has been driven just 6,200 miles and was being sold by his estate. Other Lee Iacocca cars offered at the same sale fared less well. A 1986 Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country convertible — the ultimate expression of Iacocca's company-saving K-cars — with 20,500 miles on it sold for $19,040. That's less than the $20,000 to $25,000 the auction house had estimated the car would bring. A third car from the former auto executive's estate was a customized 2009 Ford Mustang. The pony car was one of a limited run of 45 Iacocca-branded custom Mustangs, which were reworked by Metalcrafters and sold by Galpin Ford in Los Angeles. The Iacocca Mustang, never titled and with 220 miles on it, hammered for $49,280.
