Up for Auction from the Petty's Mopar Collection of automobiles is a 1973 Dodge Charger 440, Black on Black equipped with new Tires mounted on Classic Keystone Wheels. Interior is all new. Paint is good but needs to be freshined up. The engine is the real prize in this car, it is a new just out of the crate 1969 440 H.P. engine I've owned since it was new in 1969. It was never used until I installed it in this Charger 500 miles ago. Engine runs real strong and the ride is silky smooth. The A/C blows real cold air and a new 4row radiator was also installed. I Need more room for additional cars I am restoring,so this real classic is priced right and ready to go. For additional information about the car please call Marvin Petty @ (405) 640 9469 All you Mopar guys will love this car and maybe even some Ford and GM boys to. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding

Chrysler investing $20M in Toledo plant to support 9-speed auto production
Sun, 28 Apr 2013In 2011, Chrysler announced a $72-million investment in its Toledo Machining Plant to modernize production of the eight- and nine-speed torque-converters for automatic transmissions made there. That upgrade work won't be finished until Q3 of this year, but Chrysler has already announced a further $19.6-million investment to increase production capacity for the nine-speeders.
The extra units will be necessary because the nine-speed transmission they'll be mated to is going into three popular models: it will debut on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, then go into the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart. The company predicted that this year alone it would sell 200,000 units equipped with the nine-speed tranny, and it is spending some $374 million in addition to the investment in Toledo to upgrade production capacity for it.
The work attached to this new investment won't begin until Q3 of 2014, and it will be finished by the end of that year. There's a press release below with all the details.
Classic Design Concepts has another riff on the widebody Challenger
Wed, Nov 2 2016Dodge is secretly working on a widebody Hellcat-powered Challenger dubbed the ADR. But for those that can't wait a few years, there's this – Classic Design Concepts' Group 2 Widebody Challenger that was unveiled at SEMA. The original Group 2 Widebody Challenger from CDC made its debut at SEMA back in 2008, but was given a new look for this year's trade show. The car, which you can scrutinize in the gallery above, features a bright red paint job with a blacked-out American flag on the left rear fender and "Hemi" in yellow on the right side. The wheels are also color-coated to match the rear billboard fenders, with the right side being finished in yellow and the left side a dark gray. CDC's body kit is wide, slammed to the ground, and menacing. And if you happen to forget that this is a widebody Challenger, because the extra six inches of width are hard to miss, there's a clear reminder on the back of the car.
