For sale is this numbers matching 1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440 with a 727 torqueflight automatic transmission.  This car is in great shape!  If you are in the market for a car that is ready to drive, this is the car is for you.  If you are looking for a frame off restoration candidate, it is tough to find a more complete and original car.  The interior is in incredible shape and includes the original console and original radio (radio is installed but not functioning at this time).  The body on the car is very straight.  There are a few minor rust spots on the rear quarter panels behind the rear tires.  If you are familiar with these cars, this is a very typical location for rust to start. The trunk pan has had some work done to it by a previous owner (see photo), but would need to be replaced to be right.  The vinyl top is in good shape, and there are no signs of rust bubbles anywhere on the roof or behind the back glass, which are also common areas of concern on these cars.

The 727 torqueflight transmission is recently rebuilt.  The car has been driven less than 100 miles since the transmission was rebuilt.  There is a small drip out of the rear seal, and I believe when the drive shaft was re-installed, the rear seal was bumped out of place.  I have a replacement seal, but have not replaced it yet.  The car has power drum brakes with new pads, solenoids, and a new power brake booster. This car still has the factory a/c (a/c is not charged).  This car also has factory power steering.  The power steering pump has a small leak and may need rebuilding or replaced.  Also, the heater core is not currently connected, and needs to be replaced.

The odometer reads 27,925mi. I believe this to be the original mileage, but don't know if it the odometer rolled over and this is actually 127,925.

You’ll notice the R/T scoops on the doors. This was typically a 1970 feature. I have been told this was an option on later 1969 models, but I have not confirmed that.  They may have been added by a previous owner.

Bottom line, this is a really nice car. It isn't perfect, and is not being advertised as such.  I have tried to mention the items I am aware of that need to be corrected on the car to make it closer to perfect.  Again, this is a very complete car, and with a little work and a fresh coat of paint, it could be back to show room quality.

Successful buyer is to pay non-refundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auctions end.  PayPal is an okay payment method for the deposit. The balance of payment is due with 7 days of the end of the auction.  Balance of payment is to be in the form of cash, money order, or I will consider a bank wire transfer.  The funds will need to clear prior to release of the car.  The buyer will be responsible for arranging shipping and paying all shipping charges.  Obviously, I will discuss timing of pick-up of the vehicle with the successful buyer. The car is sold as is with no exceptions.  There are no warranties expressed or written. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.

Mopar updates owner apps to make car ownership easier

Wed, Jun 3 2015

Owners of any Fiat Chrysler vehicle will want to head to the Apple App or Google Play store to download the latest version of their brand-specific smartphone app. Developed by Mopar, the new suite of FCA Owner apps specific to each brand pack a number of valuable features. For starters, the apps let owners access information like maintenance schedules, service history and recall notices. The apps also include an array of how-to information and instructional videos, offer push notification for important updates like maintenance offers and recall alerts, and allow customers to schedule test drives and receive quotes from their local dealers for new vehicles. But that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The FCA Owner apps also feature an augmented reality function that helps drivers identify instrument-panel icons. There's a Parking Reminder feature that helps drivers remember where they parked their car, guides them back to their parking spot and tracks the time left on the meter. Finally, there's an Accident Assistant feature that helps drivers record the specifics of an accident, upload insurance information and take photos of the scene. It'll even help find the closest certified collision repair facility, schedule an appointment and access roadside assistance. The apps are available for any Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Fiat or Alfa Romeo built from 2011 till today, and are available for either iOS or Android. If you've got more than one FCA vehicle in your garage, you needn't download multiple versions of the app as they'll work on any model the Italian-American automaker offers. Mopar Enhances FCA Owner Apps - Redesigned FCA Owner apps offer a wide range of VIN-specific information - Owners can access maintenance schedules, service history, recall notices and more - "Augmented reality" function, beginning with 2015 models, allows owners to use camera feature on mobile devices to scan and identify instrument panel icons - Industry-first Accident Assistant feature helps owners easily document important accident information and quickly locate a certified repair facility - Individual brand versions of the app support all FCA brand vehicles - FCA Owner apps are free to download for both iOS and Android mobile devices May 29, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Mopar brand has redesigned and enhanced its suite of FCA Owner apps, putting more resources than ever at owners' fingertips with easier access to vehicle and lifestyle information.

Widebody Challenger Hellcat spotted with no camouflage

Mon, May 8 2017

Well this is a mightily mysterious muscle car. One of our photographers caught this Dodge Challenger out testing without any camouflage. At first glance it looks like an SRT Demon, since it has the same widebody flares and front spoiler of the hellacious Challenger. However, the hood is from a garden-variety Hellcat (as if such a thing existed...), the rear spoiler has an SRT Hellcat badge, and the wheels don't come from the kitty or the Hellspawn. We have two theories as to what this SRT mishmash may be. Our first is that this is perhaps a next-generation Hellcat that takes advantage of some of the Demon's developments. It could have a more potent engine under the hood, perhaps with the extra fuel pumps and air-conditioned intercooler, along with the Demon's beefier driveline. It would be a way to keep the Hellcat relevant, and a way for people who might miss out on the one-year-only Demon to get the next closest thing. Our other theory is that this is an all-wheel-drive Hellcat. The wide fender flares and chin spoiler appeared on an all-wheel-drive Challenger concept before they made their way to the Demon. And with the introduction of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, we know that Mopar has an all-wheel-drive system that can handle the grunt of the 707-horsepower Hellcat mill. If an all-wheel-drive Hellcat is in the cards, it would be another way to keep the Hellcat line fresh without too much investment, and would be a treat for fans of the old all-wheel-drive concept. It would also probably be a great seller here in snowy Michigan. Oh, and it would certainly post some amazing 0-30 acceleration times. Related Video:
