1968 Dodge Charger on 2040-cars
Haskell, New Jersey, United States

I have up for bid a 1968 Dodge Charger, that I am selling for a friend of mine. He has owned the car since 1982. He drove the car for some time and then parked it. This a project car needing total resto. Original 318, column auto, bucket seats. My friend coverted to floor shift auto with console and steering column. Beauiful color combo in LL1 seafoam turquoise, white vinyl top and black interior. Interior all original with the right seats and woodgrain steering wheel. Ok, the bad news on this charger in the way of rust repair is it needs rear quarter panels and floor pans. The pics shows these areas. Trunk pan is not all that bad, saveable. Doors solid with very little rust starting on bottom pinch weld. deck lid nice, with little rust just starting on pinch weld. A good body man can repair these areas with no problem. Front fenders solid with some damage on the left side fender from moving it in and out of storage, but no rust on these fenders. Bottom rockers all solid, along with wheelhouses. All frame rails solid. Car has real nice hood, all original glass still in car, with tinted tinted front windshield. Decent grille with only 1 little bar piece broke out on right side. Excellent grille to restore. In the engine compartment, my friend removed the driver side inner fender because of rust. The right side is good, but he has 2 nice solid inner fenders, right and left that go with the car. Power drum brake car, 8 3/4 open rear. Charger comes with a 383 mag. motor that I took out of a wrecked 70 Challenger years ago. This motor ran strong when I pulled it. Has Torker manifold and Holley carb. The numbers stamped on the pan rail of the block says it is a E-Body motor. It's been sitting for a while, so you might have to go though it. Good motor to use for this charger. Also, there is a 727 torqflite trans that go with car. My friend had this trans rebuild years ago, but has been sitting also. Overall a decent car to restore for someone who wants a resto project and would be one beautiful Dodge Charger with the color that it is. And the best part, you can restore it any way u want with any size motor and not hurt it's value since it is just a base 318 charger. If anyone interested needs more info, u can call my friend Don at 973-209-4483 or me, Ron at 973-296-2727. If anybody wants to look at it, it's at my friend's business location in Andover, NJ which is in Sussex county, north jersey. you can speak to him about seeing it. Buyer responsible for pickup of car. There will be a $500 deposit by the winning bidder paid by Paypal, and the balance paid by cash in hand or by paypal. There is a clear NJ title for the car.

Ron Burgundy calls Durango a 'terrible car,' yet his ads help sales climb by 59% [w/videos]
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Ron Burgundy was put on this planet to do one thing: to read the news. If that ever falls through, though, the womanizing, scotch-drinking anchorman could have a great career just as a Dodge salesman. Bloomberg points out that sales of the 2014 Dodge Durango have rocketed up 59 percent in the first month of Chrysler's funny new ad campaign (which began in early October). But then again, the entire year has been strong for the big SUV, with year-over-year sales increases in the double and even triple digit percentages - including an increase of 117 percent in August.
Of course, the Durango has also received a wealth of new content and a freshened look for 2014 in addition to the Burgundy campaign, and that has to be helping close sales, too. Whether or not the spots themselves are leading to more sales may be a moot point, since they are definitely getting plenty of attention. Almost two months into the marketing tie-up between Dodge and the movie Anchorman 2, Dodge's YouTube videos have received well over seven million views. More than just YouTube shorts and television commercials, the Durango has even received late-night attention, including when Will Ferrell showed up in character as Ron Burgundy on Conan earlier this week.
In the interview, he calls the Durango a "terrible car" that "cracked in half," a joke that probably had Dodge ad execs squirming uncomfortably in their Barcaloungers. Scroll down to watch the Conan interview as well as some of our favorite Burgundy-pitched Durango ads. And there's still plenty of time to "touch" Ron to win a new Durango.
NHTSA probing Ram recall pace, communication
Tue, 28 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that it's looking into Chrysler Group's handling of a pair of recalls affecting roughly one million Ram pickup trucks. Reuters is reporting that the regulatory agency is focusing on the availability (or lack thereof) of parts and "poor communications" from the automaker in its investigation.
"Customers have been advised in accordance with the regulations governing recalls," Chrysler spokesman Eric Mayne told Reuters via email. "We are continually replenishing our supply of replacement parts. Chrysler Group regrets any inconvenience our customers may have experienced."
NHTSA disagrees, arguing that the recalls, which affect 972,000 trucks from 2003 to 2012, are being delayed by the lack of parts.
Daily driving a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
Tue, Feb 9 2016I took delivery of my 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat at Ron Carter Dodge in League City. Bobby Pate and the entire Ron Carter team made the buying experience painless. Thanks, guys! It was worth the nine-month wait to get a new Challenger Hellcat at sticker price. My Hellcat is Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl with a black interior. The car has the six-speed manual transmission and UConnect. Yes, I know the eight-speed automatic is faster, but the manual transmission provides a level of enjoyment that must be experienced to be appreciated. My original intention was to write daily about my experiences with the Hellcat, but I have been having too much fun with the car. The first 100 miles required incredible self-control to keep the car under 55 mph and engine speed under 3500 rpm. The difference in the driving experience after 500 miles was – and I am only exaggerating a little – life altering! The Red Key To paraphrase Morpheus in The Matrix, "You take the black key, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red key, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." The black key is in a place where it will stay until the red key is snatched from my cold, dead hand. The red key is the only key. The red key is "The Key." All 707 horsepower are available with the red key. You can lower the horsepower to only 500 using the SRT pages, I have heard, but why? I have driven the Hellcat in bumper-to-bumper Houston traffic in red-key mode. I have driven the Hellcat in the pouring rain in red-key mode. I have driven the Hellcat to the mall, to the grocery store, to the movies, and to Killen's Steakhouse in Pearland for a 100% Japanese Wagyu steak from the Kagoshima Prefecture. (It was a birthday present from my son. My money goes into the gas tank of my Hellcat.) Just for fun, I used the SRT Pages to put the car in valet mode. For those of you who do not know, valet mode limits the horsepower to: oh, hell! Who cares? The car felt like the parking brake had not been disengaged. I have heard rumors that the Tremec six-speed transmission has a 1-4 skip-shift feature. My Hellcat has never been subjected to this travesty.Questions, questions, and more questions Q: How much over sticker did you have to pay? A: Zero Q: What kind of gas mileage do you get? A: ROTFL Q: How did you ever talk your significant other into letting you buy the Hellcat? A: I didn't ask.
