Flat Rock, Michigan, United States

This auction is for a true one of a kind "survivor" style 1968 Dodge Charger. This car is so original and untouched, it is unreal. It is also optioned to be a very unique car from the factory. It is the very rare and desirable Surf Turquoise Metallic LL1 exterior color without the commonly seen vinyl top and a tan interior of all things. The options this car has are air conditioning, power steering, am radio and the top of the food chain for non R/T Chargers, H code 383 4bbl engine. The car has manual drum brakes and column shift 727 Torquflite auto transmission and factory dog dish hubcaps. The condition of this car is the other reason that this car is so unique. It has 93, 000 original miles on it and it is numbers matching from stem to stearn. Engine, Trans, fender tag, broadcast sheet and all body numbers are inline and match on this car. The paint is 100% all original everywhere and shines up very well. Te grill is perfect, the trim and pot metal pieces are in great shape. There is some sun fading on the roof though and the car does have it s share of parking lot dings and dents on both sides, but real damage. The only rust on the car is located on the lower right quarter panel and lower rear valance. The rust is pictured below. The framerails, floorpans, trunkpans and all other sheet metal is rust free. The interior has a perfect dash in it. The Am radio needs to be connected, but did test well ( It was removed when purchased and never connected in the car, just installed ). The headliner, sunvisors, upper door pads and door panels are in excellent original shape. The drivers seat, upper rear seat and carpets are ripped in areas, but they are original once. The headlights, signals dashlights and everything work correctly. Drivability of the car is surprisingly good considering its originality. It has good power, doesnt burn any oil, trans shifts well, no front or rear end noises and brakes work well. There was a new fuel tank and sending unit installed after initial purchase sue to the original pieces being old and smelling like varnish. The car is wearing period correct 14 inch bias ply redline tires, so you do feel every inch of the road, but the look is worth it. Overall, this car is a very nice example of what a 68 Charger would look like in 1973 if it were well maintained. A true time capsule. I am listing this car for sale for my father. Any and all questions should be directed to him at (734)775-0738. His name is Steve. Dont miss your chance at a true original 68 383 4 bbl Charger that is sure to make people jealous. They are only original once. |

FCA's large, LX-based RWD cars will stick around until 2020
Mon, Nov 7 2016Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plans to stick with the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and Chrysler 300 until at least 2020, reports Automotive News. The information comes from two unnamed sources and was loosely confirmed by details in the automaker's new labor contract with Unifor, Canada's auto union. The plan, according to two anonymous sources, is to lightly refresh the Challenger, Charger, and 300 until the vehicles make the switch to FCA's new Giorgio platform. The refresh, as Automotive News points out, will happen in 2018. The Giorgio platform currently underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulia and is expected to find its way to two of the three large American vehicles for the 2021 model year. At that time, FCA will discontinue either the Charger or the 300, claim AN's unnamed sources. If one of the vehicles were to go, it would most likely be the 300. The 300's LX platform would be approximately 15 years old in 2020 and the vehicle doesn't draw in as many sales as the Challenger or the Charger. The Charger made the switch from the LX platform in 2010 with the current model utilizing the mildly updated LD platform, while the Challenger recently moved from the LC platform to the LA platform last year. All of those rear-wheel-drive platforms are closely related. Automotive News points out that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne stated that the new platform could be utilized across various applications in a conference call with analysts last month. The plan, according to the report, is to stretch and widen the Giorgio platform for the next-gen Challenger and Charger. The new platform is also rigid enough to allow the automaker to add a convertible to its lineup, which could lend further credence to rumors of an upcoming Barracuda. Hopefully, the move to the new Giorgio platform doesn't delay the all-wheel-drive Challenger GT AWD or the wide-body, Hellcat-powered Challenger ADR. We'll just have to wait and see. Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.
Dodge Grand Caravan reportedly will cease production in 2020
Wed, Jul 24 2019The Dodge Grand Caravan looks like it may finally be reaching its demise next year. A report from Automotive News Canada says the old Dodge minivan will cease production in May 2020. The report cites AutoForecast Solutions as the source of its news. FCA confirmed to us that the van will be going away eventually, but the company is not ready to put an official end date on it yet. For the time being, it looks like the Grand Caravan’s long run will eventually grind to a halt in Windsor, Ontario, the vanÂ’s only production site. With the introduction of the Chrysler Voyager as the budget minivan option from Chrysler, FCA may think it no longer has any use for the outdated Dodge. The Grand Caravan has a starting price of $28,535, whereas the new Voyager is priced from $28,480. ThatÂ’s an almost identical starting point, but we still donÂ’t know what kind of incentives FCA will offer for the Voyager. There are typically big cuts for the Grand Caravan, which have pushed recent average transaction prices down to $24,972. We imagine itÂ’ll be much more difficult for FCA to offer discounts of that magnitude to Voyager shoppers. Still, AutoForecast Solutions told Automotive News it believes FCA will transition folks away from the Grand Caravan. “For the 2020 model year, theyÂ’ll likely run to fleet and then get the consumers to buy the new Voyager,” says Sam Fiorani, vice president of global vehicle forecasting at AutoForecast Solutions. Eliminating the Grand Caravan would be a strong bet on ChryslerÂ’s strategy of splitting the Pacifica into two different model lines. Nearly every month, FCA sells more Grand Caravans than Pacificas. The Pacifica is the far superior minivan to own, but you canÂ’t argue with a cheap price. Once the Grand Caravan is gone, budget minivan buyers will have no choice but to buy a Voyager if they want the cheapest new option out there. Entries from the few other manufacturers that produce minivans are all going to be more expensive than the Voyager. The 2020 Pacifica and Voyager team are slated to reach dealers later this year, but it wonÂ’t be until next year that weÂ’re able to fully take stock of how this plays out for FCA.
