2009 Arrington Supercharged Srt8 Dodge Challenger on 2040-cars
Plano, Texas, United States
Here is my Bad 426 for sale: My Challenger started out as a beautiful Orange 2009 SRT8 and I am the third owner. Many will claim that their cars are like new but with only 10,888 miles on her she is just like new only much much better... I have owned many Mopars but nothing like this savage beast for she has a supercharged mother that was built for speed and then some. Built by Arrington or some of you may know them as Shophemi.com everything about this motor is 1st class. I have added in the photos the sales order for the car for so you can take a look at all that was involved and that no expense was spared. This is a sharp looking supercar and the new Challenger Hell Cat that is coming has nothing on this beauty except a lower horsepower lower torque and a higher price. If you are looking to have a little something under your foot when you need it than this is the ride for you. I will say if you have not previously driven cars with this kind of horsepower at your fingertips this car might not be for you. However, if you are wanting a car that will lite it up - you will not be disappointed... At the same time if you are looking for a super street car that get 23 mpg on the highway and looks bad to the bone look no more. This $40k stroked and supercharged motor was built to last with the following: 426 High Boost Piston Set 6.1 Cam: Billet Roller, RQs short block and heads Blank Magnuson Super Charger 12lb kit 2.650 Super Charger Pulley LX Dual F/Pump 255 gph 6.1 Damper 7.074 OD 17% Over Drive 426 10.3 Super Charged heads 607 RAM / 90-2370 N 900 Tourqe Twin Spec Clutch Hemi Shaker hood for Super Charger - color matched $2,689 Hood Pins and brackets Pedders suspension Drag Meister set up and parts + labor Long Tube Kooks step headers Kooks high flow green cats Exhaust: Corsa / Borla / Razors Old Skool Pistol Grip shifter Bill Board Graphics Predator Turner (included) 20 x 9 Savini Wheels Goodyear 245/45zr 20's in the front (have an extra set that was on the rear that goes with the car) Nitto 555R's on the back with 2,200 miles on them - no track time Drake Black aftermarket Gas Cap Billet Technologies under the hood cap 426 engraved set Navigation If you live in a state that does not require you to have annual or semi-annual inspection checks I will also include the fast cats that came with the car. I have added the Kooks Green cats and they passed inspection here in Texas for me. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. It is not often you can have a car of this quality and capability getting 23 mpg on the highway with the air conditioning on. This car has all of the options available in 2009 for a 6sp manual trans vehicle with the exception of a sun roof. I have sold cars and parts on ebay before like my 67 stock dodge dart or the 67 Barracuda please check out my history on selling and buying. I have owned this car for over two years and now have a real job that has a daily stop and go traffic commute in Dallas and have purchased a 2014 RT Ram truck and I need to move on. I am not a dealer just a guy who loves Mopars and this is the best and baddest I have ever owned. You can buy this Super Car for the price of a standard SRT8 that is how low this reserve is set. Over $90,000 invested with reciepts. This motor was built by the best to last and not by someone who threw a turbo on a stock engine or a supercharger on a non-forged motor making 500 hp. Lastly, please note I have this car on a couple of the Challenger websites and do reserve the right to sell the car at any time. Thanks for taking a look... |

Rare Dodge Shelby Dakota is a very '80s sport truck
Fri, Jun 3 2016The late-great Carroll Shelby built an incredibly successful career of making all sorts of cars faster, more often than not, with a bigger or more potent engine under the hood. The icons are well known—legends like the Shelby Cobra, GT350 Mustang, and the big GT500. But by the 1980s, Shelby was plying his trade over at Chrysler, at the behest of chairman Lee Iacocca, churning out special editions like the Dodge Shelby Charger, zippy CSX, rorty GLHS, and this—the 1989 Shelby Dakota muscle truck. 1,500 of these racy pickups were built for just one year and a whole two-and-a-half decades later they still turn heads. This one especially. The spotless pickup recently turned up for sale online , and its odometer reads a claimed 25,307 miles. So what makes these rarified work trucks special? As with most Shelbys, it starts under the hood. Up until 1989, the standard Dodge Dakota pickups were offered in only four-cylinder and V6 variants. But Dodge (and Shelby) wanted more, so the larger 5.2-liter Magnum V8 from Dodge's full-size pickup was shoehorned into the midsize Dakota, albeit not effortlessly. To fit, Dodge had to swap the V8's belt-driven fan for an electric unit mounted in front of the radiator. That did the trick, as well as earned the V8 a few extra ponies, pushing the special Dakota up to 175 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. That performance may sound paltry by today's standards, but in 1989 it was seen as quite sporty, and netted a zero to 60 mph dash in 8.5 seconds. A four-speed automatic with lockup torque converter transmitted that power to the rear wheels. Additional Shelby performance goodies included a limited-slip differential, transmission cooler, along with a host of eye-catching body mods, including a unique air dam and bumpers, Shelby floor mats, monogramed seats and door panels, a "CS" steering wheel, 15-spoke hollow alloy wheels, and shouty body graphics. While the Shelby Dakota didn't return for 1990, its V8 legacy did continue, and in 1991 the 5.2-liter eight-cylinder became an option on new Dakotas. Of the 1,500 Shelby Dakota pickups built, 860 were dressed in red while a rarer 640 came adorned in Bright White. This '89 is said to be #245 of those white trucks, sold new to its original (and sole) owner in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, for $15,985 (the Shelby package cost $3,933 in its day). Currently, it's demanding bids north of $10,000 for its low-mileage originality. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad
Thu, 17 Jul 2014Watchers of the auto industry will notice a theme among the formerly bankrupted American automakers, General Motors and Chrysler. There are the post-bankruptcy vehicles, and the pre-bankruptcy vehicles. The former, in the case of Chrysler, include the Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the 200 and 300. For GM, there's the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Impala and Buick Encore, among others. These vehicles have the freshest styling, with sharp exteriors and well-crafted interiors, as well as advanced powertrains and well-sorted chassis.
As for the pre-bankruptcy vehicles, they tend to be easy to spot. Most suffer from inferior driving dynamics, cheaper interiors, poorer fuel economy and often homely looks (we know, there were some decent cars before the bankruptcy, but they were pretty heavily outweighed by the bad ones). Think late, last-generation Chevrolet Impala or Chrysler 200. Increasingly, though, we're seeing vehicles that split the balance between pre- and post-bankruptcy. Vehicles like the Dodge Journey.
The Journey debuted in 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle, meaning it should fall into the latter category. But heavily breathed upon in 2011, it now enjoys a new, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a big, critically acclaimed touchscreen display and in the case of today's tester, a new-for-2014 Crossroad spec.
Watch Jay Leno drive an ex-highway patrol '61 Dodge Polara
Tue, May 17 2016The latest vehicle to swing by Jay Leno's Garage is a 1961 Dodge Polara. This one was used by the California Highway Patrol half a century ago, ordered specially by the state police instead of the Darts that were usually used by law-enforcement. After sitting out in the sun for a few decades, it recently underwent a comprehensive, ground-up restoration by the historians and craftsmen at the Automobile Club of Southern California. As you can see for yourself, the result of the restoration is really quite stunning. The ACSC apparently spared no expense, bringing the 413-cubic-inch V8 back up to working order, along with the emergency lighting, radio, certified speedometer... the works. In the process they even found the engine cranked out more than the factory quote of 325 horsepower, recording 332 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. The Polara CHP cruiser hadn't even been back out on the freeway since the restoration was finished. But after getting the full run-down from the guys responsible for its resuscitation, Jay wasted little time in bringing it back to its natural habitat.
