This is an amazing vehicle that you will have to see to believe! This awesome 1974 Plum Crazy Dodge Challenger. Nearly every nut and bolt is new- the car just went through a complete professional restoration.  All rotted metal was cut out and replaced, no bondo was used in the completely professional restoration.  The car was just repainted in this dazzling Plum Crazy metallic paint, with black racing stripes down both sides to really give it a really mean street racer look.  New fiberglass hood with hood scoop, new fiberglass bumpers, new marker lights, new weatherstrips everywhere, new windshield.

Car was originally a 318 but was replaced with a rebuilt 440 that has under 10,000 miles. Everything is else is new and has less than 600 miles on it.  Including a rebuilt 727 transmission with a shift kit and b&m quicksilver shifter, a new custom made driveshaft, and a rebuilt rear.  New headers with a 3" flowmaster exhaust.  Rebuilt carb.  New Champion aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan.  Chrome valve covers, alternator, pullies.  Msd Ignition and Distributor. New gas tank, fuel lines, brake lines, master cylinder.  New front and rear sway bars.  Also, both center headlights were removed and replaced with a chromed out cold ram air system with dual air filters and you really feel it when you step on the gas.

The interior is also completly redone.  New carpet, seat covers front and rear, grant steering wheel, headliner, custom floor mats and a new dash pad.  Blue led lighting added under seats and dash.  And blue led streetglow around the underneath side of car that really lights up the road.

NOW THE NEGATIVES, and there aren't many..

-There is a small chip in the paint on the MOLDING thats attached to the fender, not the fender. The chip is slightly touched up, and you really dont even notice it, can easily be fixed.  All other paint is flawless and just about show quality, no dents, no scratches.

 - Also, although the vinyl top is new it has a couple of small wrinkles near the back, and the drivers side seam is a tiny wavy.

-Fuel gauge is inoperative

-Doors lock from the inside only, rods need reconnected

-Seat belts not installed

Other than these small thing the car is just about perfect, it runs and shifts perfectly, and its got plenty of power.  The reserve is set very reasonably, i have over 40k into car, my loss is your gain.  Good luck

They are not a big deal when considering how much hard earned cash has been recently put into this beauty!  There is a small chip in the paint on the molding that is attached to the fender, not on the fender. The chip is slightly touched up, and unless it is pointed out, you probably will not even notice it at first look.  All of the other paint is flawless and just about Show Quality: no dents, no scratches. The vinyl top is new. Watch these Dodge Demons explode on a Texas drag strip

Thu, Feb 14 2019

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is extremely quick. It can hit 60 mph from a dead stop in less time than it takes to read this sentence thanks to its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. That engine makes up to 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque, depending on what octane is running through the fuel lines. That's a ton of power going solely to the rear wheels. So much so that Dodge developed a number of features and a new set of tires specifically for the car. In our time with the Demon, the car took abuse run after run on a drag strip without skipping a beat, but it seems some actual owners aren't quite so lucky. Just take a look at what happened to a few of these cars. You can see the whole car shake and jitter right as the whole rear explodes in front of the tree. It seems the initial shock from the launch — the most taxing bit of any drag run — is what kills the differentials. Catastrophic failure is rarely pretty, but it is neat to see the whole thing occur in slow motion. Three more cars — four stock and one modified in total — suffered similar fates. Not a great look for Dodge or SRT. According to The Drive, a private drag event in Texas drew a number of Demon owners all trying to beat NHRA NHRA Top Fuel racer Leah Pritchett's time in her personal Dodge Demon — 42 stock Demons attended along with five modified cars. While no one managed to match her 9.65-second quarter-mile run, a few owners did dip below 10 seconds. Now, there are a few of caveats we must address. First, with any modified car, you run the risk of breaking something, even with a car that's set up from stock specifically for drag strips. Even a set of tires like the Mickey Thompsons shown in the video above can have an effect on driveline components. Horsepower may be king, but it's torque that's the rear killer. All that torque sends a shock through the car. Adding even more with aftermarket parts increases the risk of something failing. The modified car was apparently pushing out about 1,000 horsepower. That said, four of the five vehicles were stock, so any extra power or torque should theoretically be a non-factor. The drag strip's surface was maintained by a company called Mass Traction. FCA used Mass Traction during the Demon's development, so that too should be a non-factor in the part's failure. It's unclear what exactly caused the failures, though The Drive reports that FCA officials are investigating the matter. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.

Dodge Durango gets the Blacktop treatment

Sat, 09 Aug 2014

The Dodge Durango is getting a meaner, more aggressive look as it becomes the latest model from the brand to wear the Blacktop Appearance Package. The upgrades are strictly cosmetic, but they lend the SUV a more assertive demeanor that some buyers like.
Available on the SXT, Limited and R/T (shown above) models, all Blacktop Durangos get black 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust, bod- color fascia and gloss black trim. The grille surround, air dam, mirrors and headlight surrounds all get the inky treatment, as well. The improvements add $1,590 to the cost of the SXT. They come to $1,990 on the Limited but also include HID headlights with LED running lights and a leather interior. Finally, R/T buyers only need to pay $295 for the upgrades. The Blacktop Durango hits showrooms this October.
If you're already in the market for a Durango but want a dash more style with no added performance, the Blacktop might not be a bad way to go. It certainly gives the SUV a bit more edge than it has in stock form. Scroll down to read the full release.

Dodge could resurrect the ACR nameplate on a track-hungry Challenger

Tue, Oct 15 2019

Dodge will reportedly celebrate the Challenger's 50th birthday by introducing a track-focused variant of the coupe that will resurrect the American Club Racer (ACR) nameplate. It will arrive as a cocktail of the automaker's best race-bred parts, including bits and pieces sourced from the defunct Viper. The Challenger ACR will be presented as a follow-up to the sold-out Challenger Demon available during the 2018 model year. While Dodge developed the 840-horsepower Demon for drag racing, it's designing the ACR to tackle America's windiest road courses, according to anonymous sources who spoke to website Mopar Insiders. It will need to take a turn, not just go really fast in a straight line. To that end, Dodge will give its popular muscle car more downforce by adding a full body kit that will include a huge adjustable rear wing shaped like the one fitted to the Viper ACR. The racer will be based on the Widebody variant of the Challenger, which handles considerably better than its narrow-bodied sibling, and it will rely on composite materials like carbon fiber to keep weight in check. In other words, it will receive more extreme modifications than the Challenger SRT8 ACR that Dodge introduced during the 2011 SEMA show but never approved for production. If this configuration sounds familiar, it's likely because the carmaker sponsors an independent team named Wesley Motorsports, which races a Hellcat Redeye all over America. It features an adjustable suspension provided by Blistein, slick Toyo tires, and a supercharged, 797-horsepower V8. The Challenger ACR described by Mopar Insiders sounds a lot like the one Wesley Motorsports regularly enters in hill climbs and time attack competitions (pictured). Coincidence? It's too early to tell for sure. Dodge hasn't commented on the report, and it hasn't announced what it has in store for the Challenger's 50th anniversary. The original Challenger made its debut in late 1969, and it arrived in showrooms during the 1970 model year, so Dodge will need to unwrap its surprise before the start of the 2021 model year to keep it timely. Expect an announcement during the first half of 2020. While pricing information remains a mystery, Mopar Insiders added the Challenger ACR will come standard with only a driver's sat. Buyers will be able to add a passenger seat for $1.
