This auction is for a really cool Mopar. This Dodge Challenger was assembled by Picture Car Warehouse and has been used in two hit, major motion pictures. It has also been used in a music video and a couple commercials. It was the "Hero" car in the recently released movie, "Two Guns", starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. This was the actual car seen throughout the movie being driven by Wahlberg with Denzel in the passenger seat. It was also one of the futuristic police vehicles seen in the movie "In Time" starring Justin Timberlake. The car was slightly modified for duty in the flick with custom light bars and wheels. It was further modified to be used in Two Guns with custom outer door handles and mirrors. In both movies the car was a flat black finish.
The car started out as a 1974 Dodge Challenger. It was modified to look like the much better looking(and more popular) 1970 Challenger R/T. It was fitted with the mighty 440 V8 and an HD Torqflite automatic trans. The car doesn't appear to have ever been wrecked and as far as I can tell, is rust free. I've looked the car over pretty well and haven't found any rust.
There are of course, numerous mods that were employed to allow this Challenger to perform its movie duties. It has a lot of additional wiring, solenoids, LEDS, tow bar, big radiator, additional gauges, etc. There is even a special handbrake attached to a device that allows for easy handbrake 180 stunt turns on demand! It has been wired to accept dual batteries which are now mounted in the trunk.
The AC system is a high quality aftermarket system that was probably installed to keep the A-list actors cool during shoots(can't have Denzel sweating on set). I haven't actually activated it, but it is all there and hooked up, so I'd expect that it works fine. There are a number of additional gauges to monitor engine functions. There is an aftermarket steering wheel and a competition, floor mounted trans shifter.
The Challenger is also fitted with a roll bar and competition harnesses.. It has a very nice set of chromed, rally, Magnum 500 wheels and new tires. Its been lowered and has a wicked stance. This Mopar just looks nasty with its flat black paint, lowering and big block rumble.
Front disc brakes and power steering ensure a safe drive. The body is very nice and straight and has an RT hood. There are solenoids under the trunk lid and within the doors(probably left over from the In Time movie-as the car was devoid of external trim in that flick).
The dash pad is very nice, the carpet is good and the headliner looks new. The bumpers appear to have been coated with a silver finish that resembles chrome but isn't as reflective-maybe so that the chrome doesn't affect lighting during filming.
This Challenger drives down the road well, starts right up and runs well.
During my ownership, I've had the transmission completely rebuilt to Mopar Hemi car specs-it shifts great, I've redone the cooling system with new relays, fans and a fresh radiator. There is also a new trans shifter cable, new door weatherstripping, full tune up items(plugs, wiring, fluids, filters, etc).
Issues?  Sure, as a former movie car there are items that either need to be addressed or left as is to preserve the movie history. The modified door handles don't work very well. The driver door sometimes sticks when opening from the outside and the passenger door from the inside. Should the new owner wish to convert back to standard Mopar E-body, I'll incude a couple standard outside door handles for a 70 Challanger. The front seats are split in a few places and could stand to be recovered. The tach stopped working, but every thing else is working at the moment. While the body is very straight, some of the minor trim items used to convert to a 1970 R/T are of movie/driver quality. The rear quarter windows need their trim attached. The door panels have been dyed and, while intact, are worn.
Much of the dash and interior light bulbs have been replace with LEDS. There is a lot of extra wiring throughout that was used for the other movie, In Time, to power the various light bars. I didn't remove them as someone might wish to return the car to that configuration(I have a contact number to obtain all the extra equipment from In Time(light bars, wheels, etc). The car has a salvage title-why? I have no idea as the car isn't rusty, nor can I find any evidence of prior damage. Maybe it was something to do with its movie history or perhaps it was a theft recovery, I don't know. I do have a clear title and all documentation from the movie company certifying its use in both movies. All the VINS, door stickers and fender tag are in place.
In summary, here is a great opportunity to own the Mopar that many want-the E-body(Challenger/Cuda). This one is ready to enjoy now as it is a runner and doesn't need rust or body repair. As a bonus, its powered by a big block! While many would find its very extensive Hollywood history worth preserving, it wouldn't be too difficult to paint it a wild, high impact color and return it to a factory appearance. Its a very cool, one of a kind Mopar with a great history. Offered at no reserve and sold "As Is" of course. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Watch dual-engined Dodge SRT4 do a FWD burnout, a RWD burnout, then AWD launch

Wed, Dec 3 2014

There's something fantastically insane about racers who go out on their own and build something unique. Just take this crazy video from last year of a twin-engine Dodge SRT4 at a drag strip that can burn the rubber at either end – or both ends – at a moment's notice. With tires sticking out way past the fenders, a massive cooling system at the front and no back window to speak of, this Dodge is clearly meant solely for speed. Though it's real party trick is being able to spin the front or rear wheels independently. The setup makes for three quite showy burnouts. When it came time to actually get down the track, things got somewhat awkward. Like other twin-engine creations we've seen, the separate powertrains make for some odd sounds and a weird look launching down the strip. Still, there's no doubt that the engineering behind this Frankenstein is very impressive. Scroll down to see this monster in action and another of it in a very mismatched race last year. Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.

Want a new 2017 Viper? You'd better call Gerry Wood Dodge

Thu, Oct 6 2016

As unfortunate as the news may be, the Dodge Viper is entering its final year of production. Slow sales and increased safety regulations have finally killed Dodge's big, brutish, and beautiful supercar. It will be missed. According to Motor Authority, those looking to pick up one of the last remaining models will have to travel to Gerry Wood Dodge in Salisbury, North Carolina. The dealer has apparently managed to secure the final allocation of cars for itself. All 135 or so remaining cars will be sold exclusively through Gerry Wood Dodge. While Dodge has already sold out of the limited-edition 2017 models, Gerry Wood Dodge put a team together to research and create their own unofficial limited-edition cars. These will be ordered in specific and unique color and option combinations. Dodge offers more than 8,000 colors for the Viper, so picking out a few unused shades couldn't have been too difficult. While these aren't official, it should provide some bragging rights to owners who manage to secure one of the special cars. Despite the exclusivity and hoarding the final few vehicles, Gerry Wood Dodge doesn't plan to add a dealer markup to the car. They claim to never markup cars over MSRP, which seems good for everyone but them. We won't complain. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
