71 Challenger that was built to run on the street.  It does have a 70 grill (I just like the look more), but everything else is 71.  Non-matching numbers, converted from column shifted automatic to overdrive 4 speed (A833) on the floor with pistol grip.  Paint is new, but it is NOT show quality.  Car was originally dark green with black vinyl top.  Engine is fresh - I believe it was a 73 or 74 block, installed newly turned steel (forged not cast) crank, along with Scat Rods and KB pistons.  Edelbrock aluminum heads, Edelbrock Manifold, Holley DP (850), MP 528 solid lifter cam, Harland Sharp roller rockers, Hooker SuperComp headers, 3" exhaust, Dynaflow mufflers.  MSD ignition (6AL and coil).  Motor has probably 300 miles on it total.  New clutch and pressure plate installed with motor.  Tranny mileage unknown, does leak a drop or two out of seals on side.  Air shocks installed and functional (old school).  Power steering installed, but not hooked up (no belt), so it's manual steering for all intents and purposes.  8.75 rear end, not sure on ratio (3.23?), sorry.  No rust on car - as far as I know the car has always been in California and inland (not near the coast), so no salt air.  I did replace the rear dutchman panel as I went through it, so there was rust there, but it's now gone obviously.  I also replaced the front passenger fender.  Originally a vinyl top car as shown by fender tag, no longer.  New seat covers, carpet, headliner, dash cover.  All instruments work (emergency brake light, speedo, tach, temp, fuel, voltage, + two additional gauges (oil pressure and engine temp)).  Dash lights do not work at night, no horns.  All exterior lights (headlights, high beams, parking, all side markers, etc) all work just fine.  No radio/stereo in the car currently.  Tires are in great shape all around, wheels are 10" rear and 7" front.  Rear brakes have new pads, fronts were fine (drums all around).  Cars runs at 180 all day, starts right up, etc.  Runs hard.  I do not have a build sheet.  Note:  front buckets will be changed out before auction end with those shown in pic of front of car so that front seat pattern matches rear.  All new seatcovers front and rear.

What is the fastest car in the world in 2024?

Sat, Jun 15 2024

It wasn't that long ago that the notion of reaching 200 miles per hour in a car, on a road, seemed basically impossible. As you likely know by now, that time has passed. And once that threshold was crossed, the automotive world immediately began eying the next triple-digit benchmark: 300 miles per hour. It may have taken a little while, but the 300-mph line has been crossed, and some cars have moved well past that seemingly insane speed number. While some of these speeds have been achieved in simulations (including the fastest car listed below), there's little doubt that a driver with nerves of steel and a heavy right foot could indeed push several automobiles up to 300 miles per hour and beyond. Interestingly, it’s not just one car or automaker in the 300-mph club, as a handful of models have earned a place (sometimes claimed but not yet demonstrated) on the leaderboard. The fastest car in the world is: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (330 MPH) That title goes to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which recorded a staggering 330 mph top speed earlier in 2023. The carÂ’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 lays down 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, which plays a significant role in delivering that speed, but KoenigseggÂ’s engineers have given the car a lot more than mind-blowing power. The Jesko Absolut has a super-slippery 0.278 drag coefficient and a nine-speed transmission that shifts so quickly itÂ’s almost imperceptible. Koenigsegg calls it a Light Speed Transmission (LST), saying its shifts happen at almost light speed. While that might be a slight exaggeration, the gearbox is impressive, bringing several wet multi-disc clutches and a super lightweight construction. As Koenigsegg says, "the Jesko Absolut is destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it." How expensive is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut? If you were reading that and wondering how much the fastest car in the world costs, the price tag is just another dizzying number on the Jesko Absolut's spec sheet. All 125 Absolut cars offered sold out at a price of almost $3 million. Of course, being able to afford the Koenigsegg is just the first step in realizing its full potential. There are very few places on the map that can support a 300-plus-mph speed run, and the locations that do are not conveniently located.

2014 Dodge Durango bows with eight-speed auto, updated looks [w/video]

Thu, 28 Mar 2013

Dodge has significantly updated its full-size Durango for the 2014 model year, giving the seven-passenger hauler a fresh look and a well-rounded boost of competitive features as it enters its fourth year in the showroom.
Cosmetically, it is hard to miss the revised front end with projector-beam headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, "floating" crosshair grille, a taller front bumper and a new lower fascia. The rear end of the facelifted Durango has been redesigned with the automaker's now-signature LED "racetrack" taillamps and resculpted rear fascia. All of the wheels are new too, with 18- and 20-inch options for each trim level with a variety of factory finishes.
Inside the cabin, buyers can select the automaker's latest Uconnect infotainment system with a full suite of infotainment features and connectivity accessed through an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other optional goodies include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seating and a Blu-Ray player capable of running unique programs on the twin individual rear monitors.
